Belfast DISAPPOINTING 😞
Belfast - Poor experience 😢 AVOID!
5 nights booked - collected Monday 29th June...1400hrs....Paul juggled between us and other customers...paying £761 up front you would expect more!!
A partial on-boarding, shared by 2 colleagues...basic!
Europa Van - Outside, obviously hadn't been cleaned and signs of age and damage (photos taken)!
Inside...not much better...stained mattresses, dust all along drivers cockpit...signs of a very basic clean
..think low cost budget airline turnaround!! 🫤
As we started our journey, the indicators started to malfunction...warning signal at both sides...not great when manoeuvring a 7 metre vehicle.
Oh and passenger side front tyre was borderline legal limit...I would argue NOT legal for commercial use!!
After 2 hours of driving we arrived at our destination...no cutlery, plates, cups etc...though advertised within the Bunkers website on 3/7/26 as "included" ...on returning ONE NIGHT early due to above...was told, these were optional extras and that multiple websites...Bunkers, Go Campers, Indie had created confusion....😡😡
It had created unplanned COST for my family...every hot drink, breakfast and meal having to be purchased away from the unit!!!
My internal feedback reflected above...😡
I rarely take to these type of forums to vent....but I would really encourage others to check on all the above before parting with their money!!
I look forward to hearing from Bunker!
Very unhappy Customer 🙁
Appalling Service
Myself and my wife have been motorhome curious for some time and decided we would take the plunge and hire one (before we would consider buying one). We called into the depot and to be blunt, the service was appalling. The reception was empty when we walked in, and a guy reluctantly made his way down some stairs. We asked for information and a tour of an example vehicle and he informed us "everything was on the website" and that we would need to wait 20 minutes while he finished his lunch. Incredible that this level of service should be deemed acceptable. I guess they must be thriving when they can afford to turn away two keen customers. I think there is competitor in Hillsborough so we will be trying there instead.
We were return customers
We were return customers. Booking process online very smooth and easy. Pick up was not too bad, but on trying to return found reception service very slow. We're waiting ages along with couple other people waiting to return vehicles. No staff members around for half an hour.

Unsafe vehicle and appalling support – engagement holiday ruined
What was meant to be an engagement holiday turned into one of the most stressful weeks of our lives due to a dangerous vehicle and extremely poor support from Bunk Campers.
Pickup in Belfast (4 April) was chaotic — we waited over an hour, received a very poor handover, and as first‑time campervan users were not properly shown how to operate or drive the vehicle.
Within 45 minutes of leaving, warning lights (ABS, engine, EPC) appeared. We contacted Bunk Campers and were advised to log a ticket and continue if the van felt OK, as the depot had closed. The lights remained on for days.
On 8 April, while driving near Dingle, the rear driver’s wheel began crunching and we lost traction. A mechanic confirmed the brakes had seized, the handbrake wasn’t working, and the vehicle was unsafe to drive. We were forced to park the van and rely on Bunk Campers’ insurance.
From this point, support completely collapsed. Phones went unanswered, no one coordinated towing, and we were left stranded in Dingle. We had to book emergency B&Bs, pay for taxis, chase insurers ourselves, and arrange onward travel just to make our flight from Dublin. This took two full days of stress and uncertainty, with no proactive help.
The campervan was not fit for purpose, and the lack of communication and duty of care was shocking. We are hundreds of pounds still out of pocket for accommodation, taxis, campsites, fuel, food, and lost holiday time.
I would not recommend Bunk Campers based on this experience.

Don't get what you pay for
We paid for a twin camper and were given a four-berth that had double bunks. We requested that they remove the bunks and leave them in the hiring shed, but they refused to do so. The top bunk is removable. My husband is 6 ft 2, so these sleeping arrangements were unacceptable. We also paid for a table and chairs, but were told there weren't any and that if we purchased some, they would refund us. The water gauges didn't work in the camper either. Would never use this company again. Shocking customer service.

Highly recommend Belfast office
Really lovely staff in Belfast office. Very thorough walk through and tour of van upon pick-up.
No waiting at either pick-up or drop-off.
Happy to be able to leave car there while I was touring, was the reason I picked them to be honest.
Would recommend.

Empty gaz bottle
Empty gaz bottle was a problem. We hired a campervan from Belfast. On your website there are false adresses of Petrol Stations that are replacing the bottles. We spent first night with no heating on and we couldn't heat our food. Then we spent full day seeking for a bottle repacement. It turned out that the bottle has a connection from the south of Ireland. There was no help from your company.

Simple, efficient and what we wanted

Belfast hire for the Causeway Coastal Route.
Hired a motorhome from the Belfast team and couldn't be happier. They are a lovely group, friendly, professional and very helpful. The van itself was in very good condition and drived perfectly - and the roads throughout NI are just a dream to drive on (compared to what this Londoner is used to! :)
Thank you for everything - we will definitely return to you for any similar hire and cannot recommend you highly enough.

Processing the release of my £2500…
Processing the release of my £2500 secure deposit has been a nightmare. Countless calls and e mails only to be told after 2 weeks of chasing up that it could take another 30 days. What cods wallop, who do they rake us for, uninformed customers?
Banking instructions and transactions are processed in nano seconds.
The 30 days can only be hiding incompetence, system failures and bad processes with the company
I will never recommend nor return as a customer. Stop stealing customers money.

This is the second time I have booked a motorhome with Bunk Campers , the experience has been excellent on both occasions, the company have been very easy to deal with and go out of their way to assist with any queries or needs . I have openly recommended Bunk Campers to all my friends and family and I'm already planning another hire for the new year with Bunk Campers .
