Best cakes ever

OMG, what can i say. Was visiting the christmas lights and happened to walk past a store, the smell was amazing and i was tempted. i couldn't decide so i opted for 3 different ones(to share). The items were packaged well. I tried all three but the cheesecake one was out of this world. Everytime i visit London(from Cornwall) this is going to be my go to place. I am trying to think of another excuse to pop up

Oh my goodness delicious amazing buns!

Oh my goodness - such incredible buns! My daughter picked them up from the shop on The Cut - she got a Cardamom Bun and a Pistachio Bun - to say they were amazingly delicious is an under statement! The Cardamom was so good, moist delicious & sweet but not too sweet with a fabulous lingering taste of cardamom. The pistachio bun had to be my favourite - loaded with roasted pistachios crisp but moist and again sweet but not too sweet with a fabulous fresh nutty taste of pistachios. I am hooked and we will be back!!

New shop at the cut…

Have loved the buns from Angel branch and so was excited when they opened the branch in the cut. However the buns from the cut are very average. Much drier and less moreish. Maybe I’ll try them again in a few weeks but there seems to be a problem with consistency amongst branches.

Very inconsistent

The most inconsistent bakery. One day the buns are great, the next they are soggy and tasteless. Such a shame because the idea is great.

Size is appalling for price

I purchased cinnamon, double baked dulce de leche, chocolate custard and cheesecake, firstly when I opened the box I was shocked and upset at how tiny the buns were especially that they are extremely expensive the only two that had decent sizes was the cheesecake which tasted yummy and refreshing but gave me upset stomach after eating and the chocolate bun was salty which my daughter didn’t like. The dulce de leche bun had just way too much caramel and hardly chocolate and did not taste anything like Nutella. Overall too much hype and not worth the money at all, Buns from home need to stop misleading customers with false media making their edits have buns appear really bigger than what they actually are and sort out where and how you store your cheesecake filling as although maybe one best tasting bun and decent sizes, it gave me the runs!

Camden branch

Camden branch. The quality of the product is great - though expensive. Bought a box of six for £24. The issue however, is not the cost but the costumer service. I asked for a box of six, they packed it in a larger box (possibly a box of 12?) so the buns were moving in the box when transported and as some of them have cream on top they could easily be damaged. I asked for two mores to stabilise the box, I would have paid full price for the other two. Was refused, on the basis they “only do boxes of six, but don’t worry we will give you a bag”. They give me a bag. Obviously the box doesn’t fit so the bag still forces me to carry it horizontally, with the handlers on the side, if I grab the bag by the handlers all the buns in the box would mess up. When I pointed that out they told me: “don’t worry the box is closed.”

Long story short: they lost the opportunity to sell at least two extra buns full price and the other six in the box were damaged after being transported. Is it still worth £24? No.

The double pistachio weekend special…

The double pistachio weekend special failed to look or taste anything like the item I purchased from their Bond St outlet. I also had to wait 45 mins for it to be delivered.

The server could not be bothered/did not care enough about the product to replicate the picture supplied

Sadly I have complained and I am still awaiting a refund 7 working days later

Broke my tooth!

Bought a pistachio bun from Baker Street branch which I use regularly. When I ate it I felt a crunch & something sharp stuck into my cheek. I started to gag and thought I’d broken my tooth so spat it out. Turns out I did crack my back tooth and cut my cheek but on two pieces of pistachio shell.
Took the pieces back the next day to be told my the manager that they had identified a problem at the main production centre and offered a free bun!!!!
Firstly if you’ve identified a problem then maybe remove the buns. Secondly when someone’s broken a tooth and cut their cheek a free bun isn’t the answer.
I then emailed the customer services 4 days ago including photos and have not had a reply.
Really shoddy customer service when there a major issue with your product.

Inconsistent quality

I tried this place for the first time. It was the Camden Passage store. I got a vanilla custard dessert bun and an almond one. I was so impressed I was raving about them and I went back just a few days later to get more. But it was a completely different experience second time round. I got a salted caramel bun which was tiny and hard and the vanilla custard dessert one again which was hard on one side and dry generally. The vanilla custard was nice in both cases but there was just a tiny blob of salted caramel... when I'd seen that bun on my first visit it had loads on it. It was like a different person had made the buns or they'd been left out a long time or something. I'm not sure what to make of it, whether to ever try it again.

Not Great.....

Popped into the Threadneedle Street branch today and purchased a feta and spinach bun. Felt bad for the staff member who had to put down their phone to serve me. I got my card out to pay and asked "how much?" They could have just made the effort to say "£4" but it was too much trouble and informed me that "the price is on the machine". The bun itself was stone cold, as though it had just come out of a fridge which gave it a congealed texture. It would have been nice warm. I wouldn't rule out buying from a different branch in the future but wouldn't use this one again.

Shame about the C/S in the Baker St Branch

Now, these are gorgeous buns! First fell upon them in Covent Garden... just walking by. When I heard there was one on Baker St which I go down quite a bit, I was thrilled. Unfortunately on Sunday 3rd Dec, there was a bit of a queue but knew it would go quickly, it was wet and cold and I thought a coffee and bun would be just perfect. Joined the queue (which was not too long) got to the end and the customer assistant, a young lady with glasses, looked at me and said I hadn't joined the queue in a very curt off hand manner. I was so flabbergasted, I just walked out the shop and into Gail's next door. I hope Buns From Home could just ensure that service is as good as their buns as it just spoils the joy!

This is DESTINATION!

Discovered by accident. Shared Mixed Berry Cheesecake bun with husband. WOW! He has not stopped talking about it since (or that he only got half) . For the quality and size for London price is very reasonable. They are very rich and totally delicious. This is going to be a destination bakery each time we visit London.
There was a queue when we arrived at lunch time and still one when we went back that way 5 hours later. It's criminal this is the only place you can get them!
