When I joined BMI I was a corporate manager struggling to get freelance clients so I could quit my job, as I was increasingly frustrated with the politics of corporate life. When I did get clients (rarely), I often found myself getting pushed around, because the "yes sir" attitude required in corporate life doesn't work well when doing business.
