Terrible experience, they sent me the wrong book and now refuse to take responsibility. I have to pay to return the book even though they sent me a different item to that which I ordered. Do not recommend!
I have received very late an item which was not as expected. I emailed then asking how to return the items and they replied me providing me royal mail link to track my parcel. The phone number doesn't go through. On their website there's mentioned how to return an item and providing an address but just below it states no use this address for returns. After that nobody reply on email the right answer to my question and I'm just lost.
These guys rip you off beware Then they officially tell you that you had prior warning that they would extract monthly money from you . They need to be stopped . Bare minimum they should ask you to setup a direct debit rather than caching your card details and charging you every month. Bad bad business. They should be ashamed.
Awful experience. When you try to log into your account, google comes up with a warning of a suspicious website. The only way to cancel is to ring or email. I’m still not sure I have cancelled my subscription. They have sent books that I cancelled when I telephoned so I am now worried.
Have taken£15 a month for three years. I have been not well so didn’t check my statements.

Questioned returns policy to PO Box and Buuks call taker stated 'new to company and can't advise but will speak with colleague and email response.'

Advised to return to PO Box with signed for delivery.
Last time I checked PO Boxes can't sign deliveries but I went ahead anyway.
Returned as per Buuks returns policy, within timeframe specified.
Proof of delivery signed for buy what appears to say 'the gardners'.

No response to email and still no refund.
Only a £16 book so can't be bothered any more.

I signed up in 2022 and they cancelled my membership in March 2022 after trying to buy books for a party, which they said under their terms I couldn’t buy 10 of the same book so I cancelled the order but they didn’t refund me for 4 books which they said were still being sent but weren’t.
Fast forward to October 2023 and they randomly take a £15 payment from my bank account, then tried to take a further £15 a week later which the bank managed to stop. Now January 2024 they have taken a further £15.
I have emailed them asking them to stop taking unauthorised payments and they don’t even read my email, just respond with a standard answer about subscriptions and cancelling them. I don’t have a subscription yet they are taking funds from my account without permission. Definitely one to avoid if you don’t want random payments being stolen years after you cancel!
Don’t trust this company. They sign you up in the purchasing small print to a subscription you didn’t ask for. £15 coming out of my account every month after a £ 3.84 book purchase. Absolutely despicable company and this kind of sneaky back door membership scam should be illegal but there doesn’t seem to be any recourse. Just avoid as who wants to put money in the coffers of these people.
"Legally" Scamming Customers.
They check subscribe to their monthly service, it is not clear and it should be illegal to check this without consent. The law should make it illegal. Instead they should have the subscription unchecked and ask customers upon check out, would you like to join our subscription! Outrageous and despicable company conduct.
Also when I called the gentlemen (if you can call him that) was awfully rude, he justified their actions saying they have the law on their side and there is nothing I can do about it and that they will not do anything about it. He said that everything is very clear and above water, blah blah blah. I then asked how common this issue is, where customers call up explaining they hadn't agreed to the subscription, and he said it's very common and I said so how can you say everything is very clear upon check out if it's a common issue!!
I was respectful and communicating clearly, calmly and professionally. I was shocked at his complete lack of professionalism and regard. He then went onto say that it is not their problem if customers do not check their basket upon checkout and that they have done nothing wrong and customers should be more careful. So not only did he make it very clear that they are "legally" scamming customers, he also said it's the customers problem and not theirs. I then asked to speak to management and he laughed and said no, you will not speak to management and said some other nonsense and hung up the phone on me.
Anyway I called my bank and my bank confirmed that in the whole year, they failed to take even one payment! so they screwed up anyway! which us hilarious. I am lucky and blessed.
For the first time since they tried to take a payment yesterday and my bank blocked it and contacted me.

Terrible joke of a business
I ordered a book on 28/08/2023 and have had to email customer services multiple times. It is now 12/01/2024 and still have not received my book. The only good thing is that customer services are polite. As for the membership "scam", it should be pretty obvious that you are joining a membership if you are paying attention to what you are doing.
Firstly, I am aware that by placing an order you are signing up for a monthly membership. I've done this previously with this company and cancelled the membership afterwords with no problems, by logging into my account. After placing two successful orders in 2022 (cheap books, fast shipping), the order I placed on the 15th November 2023 has been a disaster.
Firstly, I had to chase customer services to find out where my order was as I had no communication from their side, only to be told that 3 of the books (without telling me which ones) were actually out of stock (this was a large order, over £200). They said I could wait for the books to come back in stock or to ship the rest of my order and refund those 2 books. As many of the books were christmas presents, I asked for my order to be shipped.
Weeks went by and I still had no text from Royal Mail to say I should be receiving a parcel from them (the usual procedure). I chased customer services again only to be told there was an error on my order and they would forward it to the IT department to be resolved. I waited again. Nothing. I called up and spoke to customer services in person (mid December), and they assured me there was still plenty of time for the books to arrive before Christmas.
I chased again after Christmas as the books were nowhere in sight, and I had had no indication they were on the way. I received an email on the 2nd of January 2024 to say there is an error on the order and they have forwarded it to the correct department to be resolved. Very unhelpful, so I asked for an updated delivery timeframe.
Well, it's now the 10th January 2024 and I have still not received a reply. I have also still NOT received my order. I feel I have been extremely patient, but this is just taking the mickey.
I have now requested a refund as I will just buy the books somewhere else. Even if I have to pay more, at least I will have some actual books to read to my daughter, rather than nothing at all.
I am so disappointed and I will be absolutely fuming if I don't get my money back. I don't understand what has happened at all, after having a good experience with them before.
Like many other customers, I have been scammed into paying £188.23 for a £8.23 book entitled 'No Excuses'. There was no obvious indication that I had inadvertently signed up for a one-year £15 per month 'club membership'. The layout of the site shows the normal, higher cost in faint text and the lower cost they offer in bold. Who would not chose a 'lower' cost?! Steer well clear of this company - it may be OK in Denmark to con people, but not here in the UK!! John

So contacted customer service and got an email confirming no further charges will be made. Roll on next month another charge. Genuine fraud telling a customer they wont be charged them charging them.
Ordered 2 books 04/12/23. Was suppose to come in 3-4 days. 10 days went by and I had no books or postage confirmation like the website states.
Emailed them, they got back to me on the same day saying they wont charge me for the 1 book as it was out of stock. I have already bought the book so it is in fact a refund and the other book will continue to be posted.
