IF YOU ARE THINKING OF GOING WITH THIS FIRM, PLEASE TAKE TIME TO READ.
I recently ordered & bought a Quaich online from this company.
I meticulously drafted down in a clear &concise manner how l would like my message displayed/ engraved on the Quaich.
I even spoke on two occasions via the phone to an employee (customer care) and went through my exact wording & specifications of how wanted the wording engraved on the item.
I was assured and confident that this would be done to my exact specifications.
However:- Upon receipt of the goods(Quaich) upon inspecting it, the inscription l wanted placed internally within the base above the Thistle was off centre (not symmetrical and not Aesthetically pleasing to the eye)as you are directly drawn towards the imbalance of the lettering off centre left hand side too many characters not evenly placed 15 characters including apostrophe’s nine to the left hand side & five to the right hand side of the centre line
Also the Quaich lugs (handles) were covered in an oily residue which stained the hands, and the base of Quaich also had this oily residue.
I contacted buyaquaich.com via email straight away and was sent a snotogram
alluding to it was my fault.

It’s not faulty - it’s hand made. A one off. The text is centred but note one word is longer than the other so the word break is not in the middle which is not the same thing. I followed your instructions as how to lay out the quaich, not the other way around. Most engraving companies don't provide an artwork at all. I provided an artwork as a guide to the layout at no extra cost, it’s not an engineering drawing. As each quaich is made made the exact placing of the quaich will vary slightly. I also set out two lots of engravings, side and bowl. All for £8, about two cups of coffee these days.
I'm sorry if you are not happy with the final result but I did an awful lot to give you exactly what you asked for. As each order is bespoke it’s not certain exactly how it will turn out until it’s completed. I feel it’s unfair to ask me to undertake very specific instructions and then afterwards tell me it’s not turned out how you imaged and then ask me to bear the cost to resolve.

The above attached email is verbatim of what l received from the company.
Points to note:-
They said, “ They provided artwork at no extra cost” On the website you can request artwork free !
The cost of the engraving was £8.00 that’s the price quoted on line.
They quoted “ l gave them very specific instructions but it didn’t turn out as l intended.
From an engineering background, l drew a blueprint and we discussed it over the phone to ensure we were both on the same sheet, but alas it was not to be
For them to quote:- “As this order was bespoke it is uncertain as to how it will turn out until it’s completed.
Which was unbalanced, off centre an an imperfection straight away, no doubt a late Friday afternoon job, boxed up and dispatched, then not my problem anymore!!!
Which l am £57.00 out of pocket!!!
Because it’s a bespoke item, you have a very limited redress.
I have today, (20th August 2025)taken the item( Quaich) to two reputable Jewellers who do engraved work and on both occasions they noticed the unbalanced lettering straight away.
They say it was possibly set up wrong in the machine or typeset wrongly set up.
I appreciate some reviews on this company are positive, but please be aware, are they genuine?
