Don't buy byd car in uk

Byd is the worst car in uk , as their customer service is worst, they dont care once you buy the car. No appointment, no staff care, I can tell you from my experience. 2 dealer berry and turnbridgecwell , cannot believe the staff they have, worst ever. I would have given 0 or minus but there is no any option. I suggest not to buy this shit Chinese car in uk.
They are not helpful at all, I start getting problem in brand new car and no help. Careful guys

Good car, terrible customer service

The BYD Atto 3 is a really good car — I genuinely enjoy driving it and it performs well. However, the customer service has been terrible.

The car is only 6 months old with around 4,000 km, kept in a garage and very well looked after, yet we’ve had tyre issues with no warranty support. On top of that, mats we ordered and paid for 6 months ago still haven’t arrived, despite many follow-ups.

Our sales experience at Haberfield was also disappointing. We bought the car almost immediately after seeing it — probably one of their fastest sales ever — yet felt completely ignored. Nothing was explained.

Coming from high‑standard Australian customer service, this has been very frustrating. I really hope BYD improves their support, because the car itself deserves better.

I’ve had my seal U for jus over a month…

I’ve had my seal U for jus over a month now. Absolutely love it. So comfortable to drive and looks beautiful.
Nic from Brislington in Bristol was so professional from our first visit to our collection.
Truly exceptional buying experience.
By far the best dealership I’ve ever dealt with.

Hi this is the worst car I have ever driven. It is not even worth it £5000 on motorway doesn’t give you the right range. The range will go down very fast if you use the heater it will be stuck in motorway not worth it.

Well although the Canterbury BYD store is still going through getting itself established having just opened well you wouldn't know it had just opened due to how professional and helpful the staff At BYD CANTERBURY are also its a romantic old city with so much to see why passing through on your way to the store so go on people if you happen to be passing through maybe pop into the BYD STORE and say hello and maybe leave with that Dream car WHO KNOWS

Software ‘upgrade’ / Experience downgrade

So this was going to be a 5 star review but is now a one star following a recent software update that ruined the home screen, burying the things u want at ur fingertips and offering instead an almost empty screen (except a nice landscape pic) and irrelevant controls. It’s like someone breaking into ur car and ruining the interior and dash. Why? Took it to BYD place and they could not do much. Based on the car and experience to this point we thought to buy a second but not now. Defeat from the jaws of victory. Shame

BYD LOOKERS SHEFFIELD - Fantastic experience dealing with Coby , he was so informative , helpful and pleasant,.Had I gone with a purchase of the Sealion , I most definately would of purchased from Coby, it was just unfortunate that a friend told me to look at another make and model and due to the monthly pcp, it worked out over two hundred pounds cheaper and over the 48 months that’s a massive saving .Best experience I’ve had dealing with car sales, Coby tried everything to secure the deal, but at the end of the day BYD couldn’t compete , even though Coby tried all options

Can you give less than one star for a dealership?
Stradstone BYD Milton Keynes have been appalling over that last 12 months and now do not answer my emails. I’m sure they view me as an awkward customer but I just can’t get a satisfactory resolution. Each time it goes back to them, more problems occur. I feel absolutely defeated by their inadequacy.

BYD surprised me, quiet, solid and the battery life is better than I expected. For the price, you get a lot. They’re deintlyt catching up fast, future looks bright for them.

I recently purchased a brand-new BYD…

I recently purchased a brand-new BYD Shark and was very disappointed to discover that the air conditioning was not working within the first week. When I contacted the dealership, I was advised to wait 15 days for an inspection. After finally taking the car in, it was kept for a full day without being offered a courtesy car, or any alternative transport.

When I collected the car, I was told the issue was due to “no gas.” Since then, it has been over 10 days, and I continue to receive the same response that the Ringwood dealership is waiting on BYD head office. In the meantime, I am still driving a new vehicle without air conditioning, with no clear resolution in sight.

This experience has been very frustrating, and the lack of timely support and after-sales service is extremely concerning. For a brand-new car, I expected far better.

I've bought my car from the BYD @ Bury…

I've bought my car from the BYD @ Bury and picked it up last week. Been dealing with Hasan, all went smoothly great team to deal with.

I've been to two others BYD showrooms one in Wigan and the other in Stockport. On one in Wigan said hello and got totally ignored so walked out about 20 mins.

BYD Stockport doesn't have enough staff and you are left waiting and no one replies to your email so I've decided to take my business else where.

My last car was a Toyota and I have been with them for many years can never fault there excellent customer service.

Absolute joke

Absolute joke. Yes my Seal AWD is fully kitted out. But if you have an issue be prepared to lose your car for long periods with servicing centres not having any idea how to repair issues.
My car went into a BYD service area for not charging 8th August. Received the car back from the service centre with RED SRS lights on. Car went to a different centre on 15th September for them to contact me and say your SRS light is on as an update. Today 24th still awaiting a technical response by BYD to see what they can do to try fixing the problem

I am so happy I didn’t PX my jaguar iPace that I have owned for over two years for a BYD model the quality is absolutely nothing like my jaguar iPace that’s a 100% cast iron guarantee also looking at all the negative comments and feedback about quality and reliability regarding BYD cars I definitely made the right choice keeping my jaguar iPace.

Caveat Emptor- Sealion 7 Performance…

I collected a new Sealion 7 Performance on 31 July 2025 from the Clayton distribution centre. The am radio did not work. I took it to the distribution centre, and then the Waverley service centre on 11 August, but neither could fix the fault. The service centre booked the car in for 11 September to repair the radio.

On that visit they could not fix the fault. The am sound is still so bad on am it cannot be used, so the radio is not fit for purpose. A check of two other Sealions in the lot showed the same fault. I was told if I was not happy to go to Consumer Affairs.

Not being able to fix a fault does not mean there is no fault. The car was sold to me with a faulty sound system, and it is likely the problem is common across the model.

After this experience I do not trust BYD as a brand, their quality control, or their service.

Shocking after sales service

Shocking after sales service. Contacted them regarding a price and availability for a replacement wing mirror and still not sorted over a month later. Excuses are "person is on annual leave " waiting for price for the parts, the list goes on. Calls are never returned and email don't get responded to.
A bit of advice, choose a different manufacturer
