Don’t go if you suffer from claustrophobia.

It was not as free flowing as it was in 2016. We were herded through and enclosed in spaces until staff were finished speaking.
We had to queue on a staircase, which I thought was unsafe as someone could have fallen, and somebody actually did, although it was a child.
I was with a disabled person, and we needed to exit, due to being enclosed in a crowded space and it was very difficult to exit. This person had suffered epilepsy in the past and is big, so if they had fallen in the staircase, then things could have snowballed.
I won’t ever go back to cadburys world.

CAFE AND GIFT SHOP ONLY

CAFE AND GIFT SHOP ONLY
Lovely set up but ridiculously priced! £5.95 for a hot chocolate and the same for a cake!
Gift shop is also overpriced! You can buy the chocolates for the same price OR LESS in supermarkets.
Ok for a treat stop but not as a regular cafe

Neuro family experience

We are a family of neurodiverse adhd autism. We took our access cards and the staff were all great and helpful. We had a positive experience and the children thoroughly enjoyed the day. A fantastic play area to let off some steam. Place to refill your water bottles. We went when 2 schools had just turned up so staff enabled us to go do something else's prior to allow them through as to make it easier on us. All staff were accommodating. The only area we struggled in was the chocolate writing part so we exited as again we had caught up with the schools and went to the play area first then we went back to it and asked a staff member what yo do so as not to que. All in all a fab stress free day

Took my three children to Cadbury’s world in the afternoon my biggest being 18 and a seven and a six year-old the last time I had gone to Cadbury was when my 18 year-old was seven so 11 years there have been some changes I say some quite a few changes really however I didn’t like the fact that it was a one-way system downstairs in the in the play area, good value for money asked to go back

Today we visited Cadbury World and…

Today we visited Cadbury World and arrived with 30 minutes to spare for our 2.30pm slot. We were not allowed to join the queue until 2.20pm.

The trip reminded me of a slapstick episode of Its A Knockout or The Generation Game where one has an absolute minimum of time to complete an obstacle course.

We were told there would be an opportunity to make chocolate. In particular to use a mould to produce chocolates: a special plate one fills with liquid chocolate and then can be tipped onto a table to make the type of chocolates one finds in a chocolate box. We queued for 15 minutes then has under two minutes to scribble with liquid chocolate on the table. We were told part of the process involves spreading chocolate on the table then scraping it to mix. We were not even given a scraper.

The assistant said after less than two minutes we had to move on, our time was up and there was a queue. Is Cadbury World so understaffed that they cannot attend to the volume if visitors?

I asked if my daughter could have longer and the assistant said no. I told her that we would complain and she replied we could complain at customer service at the entrance. She had no name badge, unlike the other staff but was wearing a white overall at the chocolate experimenting area. I asked her for her name and sheband her supervisor refused to give it.

She may be readily identified by reference to two coloured piercings on her lower lip, approximately 22 years old.

How exactly was I to complain to customer service if she wears no badge and refused to give her name.

Is it usual to have staff working in children's activities with no name badge and who refuse to reveal their name?

My daughter wanted to go to the Cadbury outdoor children's playground. There were children inside but we were told that as it was already 5pm it was too late to go in. Why is one allocated a time slot of 2.30 pm if the playground and Cadbury World closes at 5pm.

In fact, it is the visitors that are on a conveyor belt not chocolate.

We all know that good news travels fast, but when children are thinking of half term holiday, and end of term holiday destinations they discuss their experiences. Their word of mouth travels fastest.

Cadbury World is a public relations disaster. It is intended to promote the Cadbury brand, but there is no patience for their future customers- the children!

Do children really want to be told that the 3d cinema will last exactly 7 minutes? Or that two minutes is too long to make chocolate? Or that staff will refuse to give their names when customers are dissatisfied. Or that a time slot of 2.30 will mean access to the Cadbury playground is refused. On leaving at 5pm the security guards in green fluorescent jackets are waiting to lock the doors and refusing public to come to wait for relatives. What exactly do small children make of this farewell? No 'Hope you enjoyed it and come again', rather ,'Closed at 5'.

An earlier chocolate making demonstration similarly lasts under 3 minutes.

I am sure residents of Bournville will readily agree that the experience is the antithesis of a Grand Day Out; rather a rushed and uncaring exercize in keeping small children moving quickly.

On a constructive note, and how to remedy this shambles. The mistake is making the public move in procession. They should each be able to visit activities separately and decide which and for how long they wish to doneach. Some might forego some activities to get to the playground before 5pm. Many for example would not wish to see the museum. All theme parks embrace freedom of movement and choice of activities, and the ability to allocate one's own time.

Remember if you visit to bring a stopwatch.

After having been many times it has…

After having been many times it has definitely been not as long as it used to be after being updated recently as we were over and done in just over 1 hour. We enjoyed the new ride but some of the guns were not working already. I used to love the advert street but half of that is missing now. It's alot of money for something that doesn't last long unfortunately

Hugely underwhelming

This review was written by my 12 year old daughter.
Me, my sister and our parents came to Cadbury world for my sister’s birthday, and we were hugely disappointed. The tour started with us getting 4 chocolate bars and that was it for "free" chocolate for the rest of the tour. They also offered a bag for the chocolate which was an extra £2. Then there were some things about the history of Cadbury Chocolate, which was vaguely interesting, but we soon got bored after 10 minutes of jabbering. There was then a ride, and we were supposed to shoot milk bottles and cocoa beans with laser guns on screens and 2 out of 4 of the guns didn't work. This was hugely underwhelming, and we only got chocolate at the end of it because it was my sister’s birthday. We came off that ride and were guided to the shop where they expected us to spend more money in addition to the entry fee. Then with no directions whatsoever, we got to the outside, overpriced café. A regular, plain Cadbury’s hot chocolate with nothing on it was £4! And they wanted £6 for whipped cream and marshmallows on top!! After that, we went to the “Bournville Experience” which was a room with a table in the middle with a model of Bournville. There was also a timeline on the wall of things that happened in the past 200 years. And a few of them weren’t even to do with chocolate. We left that after 5 minutes of getting bored and headed to the “4D Adventure” which was when we put some 3d glasses on and went in a balloon with a rabbit. As underwhelming as that was, we decided to try and end on a high with the “Have a go” bit. We started with writing our name in chocolate that we were not allowed to eat because it had been reused hundreds of times. We then moved on to a bit where we pushed some chocolate around on a table with some tools. We weren’t allowed to eat that either. That was it for the whole tour. We also paid £6 for a personalise birthday chocolate bar for my sister.
Overall, underwhelming, overpriced, not good value for money AT ALL. I would give it zero stars if I could.

Don't bother - it's terrible.

We went with our 10 year old for her birthday on NYE, along with my 12 year old. We had the first spot at 10 as we had stayed overnight in a local premier inn after travelling from Kent. I'm thankful as I would've been fuming rather than just philosophical if we'd had to queue for any of the boring attractions.
I came here a good 15 years ago and it was nothing like I remember. This time, they kept you waiting in the rain until the exact time it opened, rather than allowing you to wait in the dry entrance area.
Upon entry, when you'd showed your tickets, kids were given a choc Santa each and adults, a twirl and a dairy milk. That's it for choc gifts for the whole tour. They upsold a bag to carry them in (I hoped there would be a need for the bag, but sadly not).
The first part was looking at info and watching projected displays. We tried to take our time but the kids got bored. Then there was a short film on the choc making process with shaky benches to replicate a part of the process. Whoop.
Then you were shepherded into a place where you were given a tiny shot cup of melted choc and you chose 2 toppings. This was the only place where you could see choc being made for the personalised orders. (We'd bought a personalised bar for the birthday girl, at an overpriced charge of £6 for a 125g bar, but it was for her birthday after all, so I swallowed the price, but it wasn't at reception when we asked - they had to chase it up). You couldn't see any other part of the inside the factory through any windows at any other point, which made this feel like a pointless trip.
The redeeming feature of the whole trip was the guy showing how to traditionally temper chocolate and put it into a mould to shape it. Well done Owen - this bit and the slide in the play area were the highlights for my daughter. The shoot the screen 'ride' was laughably bad and although the history bit of the tour ( the Bourneville experience) was interesting-ish to adults, the kids were bored. The 4d experience was mildly more interesting and enjoyable, but the staff member running it was clearly bored and had no presence or role beyond purely supervisory.
We had a hot choc while the kids played on the slide and climbing frame, which again is nothing to write home about. 3 hot chocs and a coffee cost £15. (We went for the plain hot chocs without cream and mallows as that was £6!)
We left the have a go bit til last in an attempt to leave on a high, but it was just as depressing as the rest of the morning. You were allowed to squirt melted choc in squirty bottles onto a marble surface writing your name if you wanted, and then to use the scrapers and palette knife to spread and temper it. You were not allowed to eat it or take it as it was then remelted and recycled for people who come after you. Utterly pointless. It would've been much better if you got to write in chocolate on a slightly warm bar and add toppings before rapid cooling and wrapping so you could take it home.
It topped off and summarised the whole morning for us. We spent so much money travelling, staying overnight, entry, eating away from home and travelling again that it leaves a bitter taste in the mouth!
We would NOT go again or recommend it to anyone. Complete waste of time and money and spoiled the birthday girl's day to be frank. I would give it 0 stars if I could. A money grabbing, time wasting place, sullying the name of a much loved brand. Shame on you Merlin.

Do not waste your money or time on…

Do not waste your money or time on Cadbury’s World!! Visited with my wife, son, daughter and three grandchildren aged 4, 6 and 8. Grandchildren were all bored and we were all very, very disappointed. Dirty, tired displays. The only chocolate given out was a small chocolate Santa on arrival and a very small paper cup of melted chocolate with a choice of two toppings. Most of the staff didn’t seem that interested. Some of the Interactive displays didn’t work or you needed to pay £1.20 to play others. Playground small, scruffy and unimaginative. Whole place cheap, cheap, cheap.

Cadbury World Incredibly Overpriced & Outdated.

Cadbury world is incredibly outdated and overpriced. Tickets starting from £30+ for an Adult and £20+ for a child. Its a self guided tour done in 30 minutes. And you basically just shuffled around corridors waiting for the next entrance to get to and reading information while you move forward queuing.
You see melted chocolate on the table to write your name on then wiped off for the next customer, but not always available. The photo on a virtual chocolate bar cost similar to entry price, which is if you decide to get it printed.
The chocolate shop is expensive and not cheap as it seems or atleast they make you think and you get the illusion of it being cheap.
Chocolate being made is not visible so you can't see the actual factory in operation.

Outside the building is a little play area nothing special which looks like a primary school play area.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY.

Book a cheap European flight instead for your kids and grandkids and take them to a local shop and get them a big bag of chocolates instead.
I have warned you but some of you will go there anyway just to satisfy your mind that you been here.
Also no discount for BVT residents, who owns houses and were originally built on Cadbury's land, who lives there for ages including myself.

Pros: smell of chocolates,
The feeling that you can now tick it off your bucket list.

Cons: Overpriced, Outdated, not much to see, being rushed through the whole experience.
Poor management.

Really disapointed

Really disapointed. So was my 6 year old granddaughter. I think I would of appreciated a map. I was confused to what was available and where to go for it. I didn't feel it was a fun experiance. Cadbury World you really need a rethink and add more fun such as make your reception area more welcoming and fun with updating it so it doesn't look so much as a corporate reception. Change it to fun chocolatey welcoming space. It really felt to me as a money making experianc. Example get a few bars of free chocolate. Then asked would you like to buy a bag. To cary them. It cost me £1.50 for a very small bag. I also bought an out of focused photo that was £13 my granddaughter insisted we get it. A posative the pizza was nice.

11 minutes from start to finish at £27 do not go.

What a absolute waste of time and money. We went as we was passing through Birmingham on our way home from a family event. We thought why not stop of as we have never been before.
So we pre pay for a ticket £27 a person, then we find out that's SOME parts are closed. Not a issue we thought as we got there and saw a odd fenced off corner in the lobby with 7 chocolate pumpkins and some scatted Halloween thing scatted about. Not as good as Facebook made out.

Then we go to the entrance where a boarded aggressive young lady through a chocolate bar at us and waved us away with all the lacking in effort as possible. As we walk through into a static display then a fake Quaker shop where we meet our 1st off thing.
There was a young guy and girl standing by the door, we was then party odd flirting between the two and a lovely conversation where we was informed that the young female employee was a big fan of "taking up the bum in doggy style" now I'm sure that is fantastically useful information to someone but as there was parents and small children about not the kinda conversation I'd expect. We then was caught up by a German school party screaming ,shouting and being pushed forward by a one armed made in a Cadbury purple fleece.
Then you go onto a small ride then off and again all the staff are chatting and really make you feel like a inconvenience that you are there, you then walk out to the entrance the whole thing take 11 minutes. That works out at £2.45 each per minute we was there.

There's a shop that's outside where we was overcharged as the woman just kept scanning the same chocolate bar 4 times. We then walked to the cafe where we thought we will just grab a drink before we take the for hour trip home.

A small kid runs from nowhere and grabs and start licking all of the cookies and the frosting of the cupcakes and putting them back in the display. Then coughing over the remaining cakes he runs off. I looked at the women behind the counter she shrugged. I said are you going to remove those. She looks me dead in the eyes and said why it's an open display it happened all the time . Shocked my wife said but he's licked and cough over 15 things. The women looks back and says yer well what can you do.

As you can imagine we walked away and left as quickly as possible.

Halloween pumpkins, don’t bother.r

We had seen advertised on Facebook they were doing chocolate pumpkins this year. Of course we wanted to treat the kids to some as they looked great!

We went to Cadbury world myself and my partner just to go in the shop to get some. We got there and waited in line as there were no pumpkins to be seen.

The lady in the queue in front of us was talking to a manager saying she had seen them on Facebook, we overheard this and she was also there for pumpkins.

The manager said they were only producing 8 per day. One was reserved so he would send for someone to bring the others down for this lady and ourselves.

Someone turned up carrying two pumpkins. He gave one to the lady who had asked for two, put the reserved one aside.
We asked if someone was bringing the other 3 for us all, the man said no I could only carry these so I didn’t bring anymore. I said that’s okay I can wait for you to fetch the others.
The man who worked there then started complaining about how far it was and that he couldn’t be bothered to fetch the others for us, as we didn’t realise awkward for him it was.. what kind of customer service is this?

Firstly why advertise on Facebook and radio one if you are only producing 8 per day? Expect disappointment.

And then the disgusting customer service. The lady who served me at the till when I finally got my pumpkins said how sorry she was about how rude that staff member was to us.

The tour took about 15 minutes

The tour took about 15 minutes. Much of the tour was in a dark environment and the screens that explain most of the history were too high for our 3 year old to see whilst standing. 80% of the tour seems to be aimed at adults.
About 25% of the tour was closed with apologies from 3 staff members standing directing us to the exit whist handing out about 6 chocolate bars.

My partner left crying after traveling 4 hours to get here, spending £70 on tickets for a 15 minute tour and the kids being scared of the dark areas and unable to interact with pretty much anything.

No factory tour, and a wet day with the kids unable to play outside left us leaving very upset. What a waste of time and money.

Avoid this place and enjoy a better day out anywhere else.

Not what we expected

We went early on a week day. It was very busy. We travelled over an hour and a half. Paid £76 for tickets. No factory experience just a watered down excuse for a supposed theme park. Very shabby, £3 for a drink. Over charged underwhelmed. Go and spend your hard earned money somewhere else.
