Most of Beaufort St has shut up shop by the time I want something sweet, which is where this one earns its keep. It's built for after dinner — Korean-style desserts, bingsu, croffles, cube toast, and a cake cabinet that leans light rather than sugary, so nothing sits heavy on you. The einspanner is the coffee to get, and the matcha isn't the watered-down supermarket version. Ordering runs through a QR code at the table, which I liked, though when it fills up of an evening the floor gets stretched and things can slow.
Prices sit a bit above what you'd expect for dessert, but the plating and the room justify it — plants everywhere, properly clean, the sort of place you can sit in for an hour without being hurried. They also run private functions upstairs, which seems to be a bigger part of what they do than you'd guess walking past.
