Cala West Scotland are only getting a * because I cannot submit NO * review!
I submitted a formal complaint dated 8th February 2026 relating to an investigation report I had commissioned by an independent company due to Cala West Scotland’s continued failure to acknowledge there were issues with my fenestration (windows and property door). I sent the report to Cala West Scotland, Customer Services Director on Monday 5th January. By 8th February, despite continued emails from myself there was no response from Cala West. I sent formal complaint through their website. No confirmation receipt of complaint and no complaint initiation at 10 working days. I sent another complaint on 23rd February for Cala West Scotland failure to comply with their own complaints procedure. Guess what? No response. I have just sent another formal complaint due to Cala West Scotland continued failure to comply with their own complaints policy. Irrespective of any other emails and dialogues taking place complaints procedures should be followed. What this indicates to me is that Cala West Scotland are not registering their complaints to their Cala UK so they ‘look’ good for their KPI’s and stats. Let me tell you Cala UK they are not good!
This is what Cala West Scotland do best. Failing customers as soon as the contracts are exchanged and the customer’s money is in their bank account!

Chris Denny has been super helpful in putting some curtain poles up and filling in holes where we had made a mess trying the first time. Chris is extremely polite and had no reservations with filling and painting over some bits that weren’t actually within his remit. Whenever I need anything in the future with Cala I will definitely request him.

We entered into a part exchange with Cala Homes East Longbanks Green after our property hadn’t sold. Cala used the same agent, photos, and marketing we had previously paid for, and our house sold within 6 days for £40,000 more than their part exchange offer.
We then put to Cala the choice of us either completing in December with them transferring the profit or we delay the move until January and we enter into a contract with the buyer. It was at that point they threatened that the £43,000 LBTT incentive might not be available in January, leaving us feeling we had no real option and effectively bullied into proceeding with the December move. It was clear they needed us in before year-end to meet internal targets and cashflow—the house had been ready since July and was a stock plot.
After many stressful calls, Cala agreed to transfer the uplift less £10,000 in fees, of which no clear breakdown was provided. Written confirmation of this was only issued 48 hours before completion, with an additional deadline condition inserted.
This process was extremely stressful, as we were packed and ready to move. Also, my husband is recovering from a stroke and Cala were aware of this vulnerability. The issue is not simply financial—the late contractual changes, lack of transparency over fees, poor handling of our formal complaint submitted on 30 November (formally responded to only on 6 February), and the timing all made this a very difficult and extremely stressful experience.
I have formally complained, but no satisfactory resolution has been provided, and we have been advised by the MD of Cala East to escalate the matter to the New Homes Ombudsman.
We believe Cala’s focus has shifted heavily towards financial targets and cost cutting, impacting the quality and customer care they were previously known for.

Well I’ve been in my home for two months and still the snagging issues are being done. My garden has been dug up and now slabs being relayed. Haven’t been able to relax and enjoy my home due to so many issues. Beginning to feel like buying a new home wasn’t such a good idea!!

I own one of their houses in Scotland. Towards the end of our 2 year warranty I had lots of paintwork from settling that needed sorting. They sent out Paul Cawley one of their decorators to sort this.
He was extremely professional delivering a high standard of work. He identified that additional works needed doing and took initiative to book extra time to complete that work in a timely manner

As first time buyers, my husband and I had an excellent experience with the sales team at Cala Aurs Meadow - Lizzi, Jenny & Rosanna.
This is Specially for Lizzi - She is outstanding at her job. She creates a genuine personal connection, not just a professional one. We initially visited Aurs Meadow just to make an enquiry, but because of her warmth, knowledge, and support, we decided to move forward with booking a property.
My husband was interested in a detached or semi detached home, which was outside our budget. Yet, because of how sincerely and patiently Lizzi guided us, we ended up booking the Colonsay, a show home.
We had previously asked Lizi if it would be possible to include the furniture as well. I understand this may not be fully within her control, but if there’s any chance an exception could be made to include the furniture, it would make us extremely happy and would make our move into the Cala home much less stressful.

From the minute we walked in the door at CALA Lathalan Grange, even when we were not even sure we could afford a home, the CALA sales staff were kind and considerate at every stage. The sales team are exceptional and knew their stuff with regards to time frames and regulations which kept us on track the moment we initiated our sale.
Diane and Helen who were our points of contact kept us in the loop at every development. One particular point that was incredible was the ability to show us our home at various stages of completion. This made us feel like we were part of the construction process and kept us excited about our new home.
Even on our move in date we were met with hugs and dog treats (for our westie pup) and we couldn't be happier with the build. All elements of our new home were explained to us with an extensive demo from Anne and our Site Manager Marton. They made it clear that if we needed anything at all they would be there to fix it. I can confirm of the small snags we've pointed out they've been dealt with immediately and without delay.
