If it walks like a duck...

When you can't contact a company via email or their website, that should tell you something. When you try to post a review and discover you can't because the Submit button doesn't work, that should be another clue.

I will NEVER do business with any outfit that litters properties up and down the street with their junk mail advertising which they were too cheap to put a stamp on. I don't appreciate having to stoop over and pick it up; it's trash.

I will also never phone a company that publishes phone LETTERS instead of phone numbers. I'm sure this outfit is very proud of themselves for their clever 800-4-tutors, but I don't care who it is, I'm not going to honor that kind of customer "service" by hunting-and-pecking on my phone to find out the real phone NUMBERS. They don't even bother printing the real phone number under the phone letters.

Their self-published "reviews" sure look fake, don't they.

But mainly, I utterly hate and despise companies that litter the neighborhood with trash that they just throw down on people's stoops. It's litter, and it's against the law.

The most horrible & unethical company

The most horrible & unethical company I ever encountered. I was paid pathetically little money as a sub-contractor (as every tutor is) yet they demanded miracles. The clients pay about $50-60 per hour at least yet tutors are paid less than $20 per hour. No training, no mileage, nothing. I encountered the most hypocritical, snobbish and obnoxious human beings working this subcontractor crap. The "office people" regularly demanded me to report to them (extra time without pay) and CALLED me out of the blue during my day job to demand a bunch of things again without compensation. If you are a parent looking for a tutor, please do not subscribe to this unethical exploitation of financially struggling college students and new grads, find a good tutor directly and cut the middleman. Please make an informed choice with your purchasing power.

Bad tutor. Wish I had, had a different one.

I am in high school and the tutor I got was nice and all and he helped me learn the content, but he is very impatient. He will get frustrated if I don't understand the content right away. The tutor was also very very old school (he had a flip phone), and he couldn't always help me with my homework because we would have a new way to do it that he didn't know about and he would just say, I don't know and expect me to figure it out. Overall, the tutor doctor customer support was good, I just didn't get a good tutor at all. We just didn't click. That is kind of hard to do when you are needing help with school work.

Never never use

Never never use! Booked consultation to arrive at 3:30, apparently through the Toronto office but via a 604 area code. At 3:45 when they did not arrive i called the same number and was told they would check. 25 minutes later i got a call saying that there was a mistake and they are not coming. I told her inwas dissapointed and not sure about this and she said"this was booked in Toronto and its christmas" then EVERY time i tried to speak she cut it and cut me off. She wanted to rebook for the next week and i said that wouldnt work and that i wss unsure about them. She continued to cut me off very agressively, not showing any remorse or apologic at all. I asked her to allow me to speak and not to talk over me, i explained that i am allowed to be unhappy with the no-show and that i would expect some compassion and someone to be able to wotk with me. I was told that she said she was sorry she didnt think this would work and HUNG UP. i called back and had a man then say he heard the conversation and we dont want to work with you.
Run away. They blame others for their company's mistakes, which is indicative of their business practices and results.

My son asked for a tutor and I found …

My son asked for a tutor and I found this Tutor doctor. They offered me two teachers, one for essay writing and the other for math. Despite all of the money I paid, there was no improvement in my son's marks. The teacher for essay writing had a British accent but no familiarity with my son's grade 12 curriculum, just talking with him and telling stories!
The math teacher was a university student and sometimes forgot that he had a tutoring session with my son! MY son's final grades was not improved at all! My son was not satisfied with the tutoring but not telling me cause he felt sorry for the teachers!

Fobbed off

After trying to get refunded for tutor time and being supplied with inappropriate tutor, I am yet to receive money owed to me since July 2016. I was told that even though I had undergone hours of an initial meeting at my home giving our detailed requirements that it is my sons fault that the tutor which Tutor Doctor supplied continued to attempt tutoring him for 7 weeks I was rudely informed that it's the child's responsibility not our tutors to admit they are wrongly placed" I asked if they thought a child at school who thought that their teacher was not capable that it would be that child's responsibility to inform the head of the school and the lady on the end of the line representing Tutor Doctor told me she thought it was the child's responsibility

Very unique programs

Their x-skills program really helped Jordan perform better. He's a smart kid but he is very disorganized and scattered. This program made a big difference.

Great Choice.

My daughter needed a tutor for math 30-1 to improve her mark. Last year, we tried two different tutors and did not achieve the results we expected. The tutor doctor has been an awesome experience from the beginning for our daughter. They matched her with a tutor who was well suited for her personality The tutor was positive, patient and respectful. She helped her to challenge herself and gain the confidence she needed to succeed in this course. I would not hesitate to recommend them or to use them again.

Excenllent Training Experience

This is a very professional training agency and they give me the fastest response to my inquiry.
The tutor is also very nice and well prepared with patience. My daughter's English is in level one and can hardly communicate with others in English, so the tutor will print bilingual materials for my daughter to understand each time. She will also carefully writes the reports after each of the class to identify the strength and suggest how to make improvement. After almost 30 hours training, she can initial a conversation with the tutor and she can search materials on line to prepare a presentation.

I am satisfied with the tutor and hope she can show more pronunciation rules to my daughter at her current level.

Math 20-1 AP

Our tutor Paula was professional, she really connected with our son, she instilled confidence and built up his skill level in a very positive way.

Paula was able to review and teach him new strategies for success.

His first unit test was 49% when we called tutor Dr. He achieved 80% on his final exam.

Will be using tutor dr again.

Excellent tutor service!

Tutor Doctor office staff "walk the walk" as caring, professional service providers. They respond swiftly and effectively to all queries. By doing so they restore public faith in the notion that the client is to be served rather than what is often observed to be more typical behaviour in other organizations that the service provider is being served by the client
