California Exodus Moving and Storage 

I was given a quote for $10,800 by Joe one of their staff that claimed he was the best in the company. We did a complete inventory over the phone. Almost a two hours phone call. Long story short two hours into the packing I guess an inventory specialest shows up.
Now get this two hours into the job he tell me that $10,800 is going to be blown out of the water. That I am looking at a minimum of $14,000 with a laugh. End total was over twenty thousand dollars. He started subtracting items from the bill and got it down to just over $17,000. The old bait and switch 2.0. Three days before closing on the sale home no time to change moving companies. ANYBODY ELSE.

After booking in June for a move in mid-July on the day of the proposed move we received a voicemail stating they were no longer able to provide the service. You can imagine where this left us. I would not use this firm

This was my first time hiring a moving company and based off my experience with this company it will probably be my last. My items were picked up more than a month ago and I was given a timed estimate of 0-6 business days for my items to be delivered for a distance of 0-500 miles ( I moved 300 miles away) but I have still yet to receive them. While attempting to get information on where my items are and how much longer it will take for them to get delivered I receive only a response saying " a route hasn't been assigned to your items." I've sent communications to multiple people that where flat out ignored or were passed on to someone else who previously I had no communication with in regards to my issue. I also have been seeing reviews about this company not only up charging after the delivery but also damaging peoples products. I hope this won't be the case for my items, but if so i'll be back with an update. I'd highly recommend packing a U-haul yourself and transporting your items before using this company.

Well... so far not so good. Our bill increased 129%. We lived in a 1 bedroom condo. Not much space taken up in the truck. It's been 2 weeks and my family and I are still sleeping on the floor in our empty place. We keep calling and we keep getting the run around with no solution. Distance between the 2 destinations is 257 miles... not that far. Be wary of this company if you want to use them. I'll update after we receive our belongings, our property.

Genuine fraud. Don't even think about it. I paid less for movers that went directly from my house to my destination (California to Texas).

1. Complete lack of responsiveness after a deposit is paid. Phone lines are never open.

2. No communication until 12 hours before pick-up. That communication is done by a person named Jim Kirran who is irritable, angry and just an all-around terrible human being. He will scream at you and give you information that is fraudulent as if its standard (paying movers after they leaving California, not after you receive your goods).

3. They were a no-show until 5:30PM on the last day of the pick-up window. They showed up in a Uhaul with no packing materials and then went to Home Depot. Had no idea how to pack.

4. Failed repeatedly to give full insurance. Insisted and pushed you on $0.60 a pound. A 50 pound TV that is $2k, would only give you $30, which is just ridiculous.

5. When they came, they backed into my retaining wall and destroyed it.

6. Tried to inflate value by 50% when they arrived, even though there was no change to inventory. They pack really poorly, so they will waste a lot of space in the truck. They don't know what they are doing.

7. No firm delivery date and anger at the idea that they should be more specific in guidance. They are the customer, not you, that is honestly how they act and behave.

They are scum. Very happy to have kicked them out of the house and gone with movers that actually cost me less than their inflated value when they arrive.

So far terrible. Our pick up price doubled and we are still waiting for our stuff. And because their contract suits only them my family will most likely wait till next mont for our belongings as we sit in an empty home. Jim is very unprofessional. He will offer no solution, he will just yell about how it’s all in the contract as you sit in your home with nothing. We will be relocating another home in the family next month and not using Cali exodus…it can’t get any worse

Update 6/25: so I lied, it can get worse!!! Much worse…They arrived with our belongings today and our most expensive possessions were destroyed!!! Our 3k fridge has dents and scratches all over it, they stored it somewhere that somehow got water into the fridge and caused rancid molding, my 75 inch Sony tv that costed nearly 4K absolutely destroyed. My water dispenser destroyed, my $500 dining table bench destroyed, my 2k king bed set destroyed. What is the purpose of this horrible service? Solely rip people off.
I spent $8000 for them to move these items and now I will have to spend another eight to $10,000 to replace them never trust them Cali exodus are scam artist. Pics below.. We haven’t even began to unpack our boxes yet and I am afraid of what I’ll find since a good portion of them look crushed on the outside.

***ALSO don’t be fooled by the merchants response here. We haven’t agreed to remove anything. Cali exodus is harassing us and basically trying to blackmail us into removing this completely accurate review. I was told by Kate that if we don’t remove this review they will not address any of the issues. Which is coming down to about $4K in damages and loss. We will be filing a separate complaint with department of transportation the better business bureau and any other entity we can find. Until I get a check or deposit reversal for at least 3K I won’t be removing any reviews. My family and I moved across state and are now 4K in the hole. Thanks to Cali exodus… Julia Morreale is not the same person, she is my wife and her review is also 100% honest…Cali Exodus is THE WORST….

Stay away from this moving company Cal Exodus, don't want to see anyone else being taken advantage of. They are cheats and miss leading in their prices. They quoted 5300.00 to start and I sent pictures and had regular phone calls and emails with them but when they showed up to our place, they tripled the cost to $13,200.00 and our hands were tied because we had to move out and relocate out of state.
They damaged our goods and there were items missing, I am getting the run around for a claim being filed. I did file and reported them to the BBB and have been keeping all emails from the company, I finally received email from the Cali Exodus, and I was told to remove my negative review from the website or they won’t do anything with the claim, so I am being threatened by them which does not go over very well. I was told they won’t process my claim and had to wait 12 days before getting an answer on what they are going to do to resolve the problem.
They came in at 1 price and tripled it on us on the day of pickup and left me know choice and took 20 days to deliver across country from west coast to east coast.
They are very miss leading and promise the world if anyone has read the horror stories of cheating moving companies this is one of them. Buyer beware also wanted all the money before final delivery was made, they wanted 1/3 up front then 1/2 on pickup then the final before making delivery stay away from this company.
I will be filing against this company and reposting reviews and make sure the public is aware of what kind of business practices they are doing and will update the BBB as well and get an attorney and go after them.
I received email back from the BBB and they are now telling me they are NOT associated with the BBB another lie about the company.
