The story begins in 1975 when Don Jose Luna would visit close family friends at the family owned tequila distilleries in Aranda’s and would get private batches of tequila moonshine style. Overtime he developed a taste for the finest of tequilas and would share these private batches with friends and family. Around 2003, the next generation carried on the same traditions in San Diego. The demand grew and in 2014 the Luna family and close family friend, Phil Salvagio, wanted to share this special tequila. After several trips, family tastings and ensuring a craft luxury tequila – CaliFino was born.

I was given a bottle of Extra Anejo by…
I was given a bottle of Extra Anejo by friends that traveled to the east coast from California. I live in Connecticut and often am looking for a better class of Tequila. I have found no other that is aged 8 years and often the 3 year stuff is in the same price range. This is the best Tequila I have ever tried. I just got 2 more bottles and a bottle of Anejo. I tried the Anejo and it is fantastic also.

I first sampled Califino at Pechanga's…and fell in love
I first sampled Califino at Pechanga's Tacos and Tequilla event. I fell in love with the smooth flavor of the Extra Anejo. I have tried a few other Anejo's and Extra Anejo's, but none match the flavor and smoothness. I will be back for more.
