No pay increase since 2012

No pay increase since 2012. Wayyyy below minimum wage for native English countries. Doesn't value it's tutors else it would pay them accordingly. How is this low pay even legal in 2024??

Too many novices and unqualified tutors who turn to each other in the Facebook forum flapping over very basic grammar, all typed in lazy English "hey, do u know wat simple passed tense is. Their r students aksing me but Im a doof." Shouldn't be aloud (allowed).

Too many students expecting too much. They want you to prep out of hours and devise whole courses. For this pay? Get lost!.

Drama and unfounded claims

Really liked cambly. Pay is not good but hey, it's convenient and pocket money for when living as a nomad. But recently they did something real shady. Read a sentence and without further questions and zero context, pulled a Zuckerberg and jumped to fake conclusions, making accusations without looking at the obvious facts and being able to see they were not using common sense as nothing happening matched their over blown assumptions. Jimmy won't apologize, the company is ignoring the issue, and after 5 attempts to contact them, they refuse to apologize or explain anything. As a person of strong morals and convictions, this is something I can not overlook. Therefore, my 5 star rating has fallen to zero, well one, since zero isn't an option. Facebook fact checkers could do a better job. Do better Cambly, shame on you.

Racist and discriminatory students

I'm a former Cambly tutor. I sent Cambly a report about some students who were being racist and discriminatory towards me. Cambly responded with a message that was completely irrelevant to what I needed help with. Cambly has a Code of Conduct that says that they don't tolerate any kind of discrimination, but that was not my experience at all.

It’s disheartening to hear this! Cambly does not condone discriminatory behavior in any way.
In the unfortunate event that a student may violate the Code of Conduct, tutors have the option in class to block and report the student immediately. Reporting a student during a lesson automatically ends the class and the offensive behavior is investigated.
It sounds as though you may have gotten an automated response to your initial "Contact Us" report as you say the reply didn't address your issue. When this happens, tutors can respond to the ticket so that the issue can go directly to one of our kind Support Team members who will help resolve the matter quickly.

I want to believe you are not a money trap?

I did a subscription but I had to cancel it within the same day (for a personal reason and without using at all). Even I requested to cancel the same day, your representative is asking me to pay around %20 percent of the whole year’s price as a cancellation fee!

May I ask you to be more sane and fair with your customers and don’t act like you are a money trap? I am requesting to cancel within like 10 hours of purchase. Please correct this as it is an unacceptable approach to a customer.

Don't waste your time!

I applied to become a tutor and waited for around 3 months, only to be informed that my application was rejected. Unfortunately, they did not provide any explanation for the rejection. Moreover, the advertisements are misleading because they suggest that anyone can become a tutor, but in reality, they have a limited number of spots and unclear selection criteria.

STAY AWAY ! No Customer Service !

I can't access to their Customer Service since I couldn't verify my email address. Although I have requested to get the related link multiple times, I haven't received their confirmation email, so I couldn't verify my email address, so I can't get in touch with their customer service.

The issue is I have recently bought an annual package with 12 installments. However, they charge the annual fee and didn't make any installments.

They just disapper once you buy their package, no customer service, no email support, no phone calls. I would rather STAY AWAY from this company.

Unreliable company in terms of security

I used Cambly for one year with annual subscription and it ended, and I was not updating next year subscription. Teachers and service themselves are just okay though.
However... the next year subscription was enrolled as mistake by system although I didn't enroll, and they ACTUALLY tried to make a transaction with my registered card with annual amount $1193.40!!! Luckily my credit card declined the transaction.

Cambly deducted ~2k dollars from me

Cambly deducted ~2k dollars from my card without authorization. I'm shocked by the unscrupulous billing practices of Cambly.
Unwanted Renewal: In early 2022, I tried canceling my Cambly subscription. Despite this, they charged me from May 2022 onwards, totaling ~$2,000. My last lesson was in April 2022, and I have never used any services from them since then.
Misleading Design: Cambly's "pause" option seemed to imply halting payments. The "unsubscribe" option was difficult to find, especially problematic for non-native English speakers which are most Cambly users.
No Notifications: I wasn't informed about subscription status changes.
Email Overload: Frequent Cambly ads flooded my inbox, causing crucial payment emails to be categorized as spam.
Poor Customer Service: Cambly lacks a direct phone line, making issue resolution cumbersome. You have to submit an online form and wait forever if you encounter trouble. I HAVE TRIED TO CONTACT CAMBLY THEY JUST REJECTED ANY RESPONSE. If you have a financial problem, they are unwilling to solve it but rather passive-aggressively lock your account.
Payment Restrictions: Users can't remove payment methods, allowing Cambly to make unauthorized charges.
Reputation Concerns: Numerous similar complaints exist online such as sikayetvar.com, the Apple App Store, and various social media sites. But Cambly never solves problems. Instead, Cambly buys positive reviews and advertisements, overshadowing genuine concerns. Thus, I believe the business practice and rules are unfair and deceptive to customers.

I love how I always have students when…

I love how I always have students when I work priority hours. I wish Cambly could better monitor the number of kids that I answer calls for. I typically do not feel prepared and I have not signed up to teach kids.

this company is Big Scam

This company is a fraud the reason I believe it is. 1. The recruiting aspect of it is they did over a video chat.2. they have us do a profile and a short video after all the stuff is done we wait for very long time to just be rejected and here is information you need to they use the whats up app to communicate and people from united states are being rejected rapidly hands down even those we have experience. so my point is do not apply for a tutor job cause you wont get it.

Fake recruitment

They ask for sensitive data, including videos but never get back to you under the premise that they are too busy, yet they keep active searches for teachers. Be very careful as they seem to be collecting persinal data for whatever reason

Occasionally, when a tutor is not a fit at that time, their video submission may be kept on file in case there may be a fit in the future. I renewed my annual subscription and the subscription was not activated

I renewed my annual subscription a month ago, the site deducted money from the card, but the subscription is not activated. The site support responds that it does not see my payment, although the bank confirmed my payment a month ago. the platform does not give any evidence, can not solve the problem

From nov 22 to may 23

When I started using Cambly in November, I was confident in my English skills, thinking I had a good grounding in the language. But I was wrong! From my very first call, I quickly became aware of my weaknesses and felt anxious about making subsequent calls.

Yet I was determined to improve and prepared each call with the utmost care. Slowly but surely, thanks to the encouragement and active listening of my exceptional tutors, I began to gain self-confidence. And then the unexpected happened: I landed a job interview that required me to speak English!

Aboneliğimi de iptal edersem de, planimin bittigini fark etmeden yalnizca 30dk kullanmisim ve benden bunun icin bir aylık toplam 200$ yani odedigim toplamin %25ini alacaklarını söylüyorlar ve aldilarda. Ben yandim sizde yanmayin!

Be careful please, they are such kind of fraudulent company! They made an auto transaction without informing me and didn't notice about my plan expiration, and now last but least, they are saying if I cancel my subscription, they are saying they will charge me 25% from the total for one month which is $200 - in case I have just used 30mins without knowing my plan was expired and I had already charged by them!
