Looking at 68 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people found the printers unreliable, frequently encountering issues like paper jams, blank pages, or devices stopping working soon after purchase. Customers also faced significant frustration with connectivity problems, including difficulties with WiFi and software compatibility, especially with non-Canon cartridges. The high cost and forced use of genuine ink, which often don't last long, were also major points of dissatisfaction. However, some people were satisfied with certain products, highlighting good print quality and speed. A few reviewers also found customer service helpful, leading to successful repairs and positive interactions.

I have previously loved my Canon…

I have previously loved my Canon cameras, but due to my DSLR becoming too heavy I swapped to GoPro. What an absolute nightmare that turned out to be, and with appalling customer service team. So I thought I'd come back to Canon, even spoke to them about the Canon R50 before I bought it. My Son helped me to get this camera, and lenses it needs, but I already had the wireless mic from my GoPro, so yay. I was so excited for this camera, only to find that the sound on it is useless, but that's ok because I have my own wireless mic, right? After all it has a 3.5mm jack, and my mic works on literally EVERYTHING ELSE! No, for some weird reason this camera tells me it's not compatible. Canon tell me I can only use their mic at £400 I don't have, but is also not fit for the purpose I need since it's directional, and I can't walk away from it. Apparently the Rode Go I and II work with it, at a cost of £300 I don't have, but it begs the question that if this works, why doesn't my mic, it's the same jack. Even Rode are confused.

Spoke to Canon again last week, chap is nice, escalates my issue to their second tier complaints, and tells me it can take 5-7 working days to get back to me, but he's marked it as a priority. I don't know what priority means in the world of Canon, but as an ex business Woman myself it's not the MUST TAKE 5-7 working days I've been told this morning. I ask to have a manager call me so I can make a formal complaint, only to be told 'this will go to second tier, and will take 5-7 working days for them to contact you'. Then we have to have a heated discussion about UK disability law, reasonable assess, and the EqA, because she keeps saying 'If I could just explain' like I'm too stupid to understand the same thing she keeps repeating, and I'll suddenly accept that she's right.

Customer Service is supposed to be about protecting the customers rights, and serving our needs. I'm not quite sure when these companies decided it's about the company policies that are detrimental to that, or even trying to keep their customers. Well Canon, I have very little money, and it matters a lot where I spend it, so I won't be spending it with Canon ever again. It probably doesn't matter to Canon right now, but it matters to me, and if it matters to enough of us, eventually it will hit you where you really do care. You see, this camera is in the more 'budget' end of your range, but it still wiped me out. Had I had the money to do so, I would have been going for the Canon R6, at a cost of over £3000, but if you think for a moment that cost spent makes one feel different about shoddy treatment from your company, you're very wrong.

really patient with me

Couldn't get my printer to work after installing new cartridge. Tried lots of suggestions from you tube etc but still nothing. Eventually rang canon. Gentleman was extremely patient with me (not good with technology) and linked to my phone to use camera to see what was happening. Turned out just to be not connected to the wireless router even though light was on so i assumed it was. Now sorted. Thanks Canon.

Worst customer service I have ever…

Worst customer service I have ever received. Wanted to return an item as found cheaper elsewhere. Had to go through a returns protocol to see if i was eligible even though product had not been used. Now been waiting days to get return label and been told it has to be collection so I cannot do on my terms when I work everyday. Never known a company to make it so difficult in my life been constant chase up phone calls. Stay away from this scam company many other companies that sell their products for cheaper and better customer service. Update : returned item and still not received refund contacted and said I would have to contact bank as deposit is lost I have never had this happen so shows it is the company and not the bank!

APPALLING

APPALLING! Mr Honeysett ordered ink cartridges end of August. They have not arrived and even after correspondence with Canon and their courier (UPS), neither a refund nor cartridges have been received.
CANNOT RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL

Canon create great printers but useless support

Canon create great printers but support is non existent or useless. For example my brand new G7050 printer (selected because of it's more sustainable design and ink tech) keeps going off line for no reason. Contacting Canon is a waste of time so.........
Despite having great design features, I'm afraid I CAN'T RECOMMEND A CONON PRINTER

Once set up my Canon MG3650S printer…

Once set up my Canon MG3650S printer works well and was very reasonably priced. I had previously had a Canon Printer before and on the new one the inks go in very easily, a good plus point. However, it took me nearly 2 days to set up. I ended up crying with frustration at one point!

I managed to set it up to wifi easily but to get it to connect to my lap top so I could print from there was impossible. However, I tried connecting it to my Nokia smartphone to print, I was told to press some buttons on the printer to do this and once set up on my phone I was able to connect to my lap top at only the second attempt.

It is all working well and seems simpler to use than the previous Canon Printer, but Canon have to lose at least one star for the complicated set up. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone older like me unless they have someone younger and IT savvy to help. However it is very good value for money.

Dismal.customer service

Ordered and paid for a Cannon printer online. 3 days later I got a confusing text and email from UPS. Turns out that due to a service issue they were unable to deliver the printer to me so they returned it to Cannon.
Instead of Cannon contacting me to let me know what had happened they just cancelled the order and began a refund process. They then said that I was welcome to place and pay for another order !!
They said that once an item is returned to them they are unable to ask the carrier to try to deliver it again.
Just to add insult to injury, the refund process takes 5 to 7 days.
If you are buying a printer from Cannon, I hope it turns out to be better that their dismal.customer service

Canon products are a con

I have never used a product as bad as a canon printer. I am sickened by how this company ruthlessly gouges it's customers over the price of ink cartridges. Words simply cannot convey my contempt for this loathsome brand.

AVOID! Worst service ever

Bought a new printer (£2000) wouldn’t work at start up. Requested support. No support. Raised complaint. No response.

Not a single person from canon has contacted me. Still waiting for an initial response, 2 weeks after reporting this.

Update - engineered came on day 15. Confirmed machine is faulty. Call service to replace part. Told to wait for response again. No one can give an update. Can’t speak to anyone.

Update 2: 4 weeks later canon still haven’t even acknowledged my complaint.

Speaks volumes. Once they’ve got your money they don’t care.

I’ll not buy from Canon again

Two year old printer worked well until I changed Wi-Fi provider.
Had issues with the set up to my laptop, eventually managed it but should have been much easier and quicker.
The printer would not connect to my iPhone which I primarily use for printing. Called customer service and was told printer too far from router - it worked perfectly well previously, he just couldn’t be bothered.
Moved printer next to router, no difference. Called again and an incredibly patient agent spent 2.5 hours trying to resolve the issue. He said the problem would be escalated and I’d receive a call back.
I mentioned to my IT neighbour who advised me to switch phone off and on again - that worked.
Rating is for the first agent and the lack of callback.
Canon really should provide more in depth training to their operators, but the second one did try hard to help.
The measure of a good company is how they deal with problems - I won’t buy Canon again.

A problem - but outstanding service to resolve it

My old Canon printer had given good service for many years but when paper feeding became poor I decided it was time for a replacement. Everything immediately worked well on the new printer (TS6350a) except for scanning. I phoned the helpline and quickly got an answer. Several efforts to download drivers failed so, after 40 minutes or more, the helpdesk escalated the problem and said I would get another call in a few days. That happened and, after another long call, the problem was resolved. Perhaps 5 stars seems generous for a product which didn't work correctly but the issue was probably with the configuration of my PC. Both the people I spoke to were infinitely patient. I consider this to be outstanding customer service.

WORSTE EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE BUYING

I have had the worst experience of my entire life trying to buy anything!! I placed an order on 07/08/2023 for a Canon R8, 50mm RF lens and a battery, so a good £2000. On the 08/08/2023 i had en email from UPS stating it will be delivered on the 9th. The 9th came round and nothing. Ok so i queried it with Canon who said it was a mistake and that it will be delivered 5-7 working days from the day of order. Ok... so along comes the 7th working day and nothing. I call Canon, who tell me it will be delivered on that day. IThe day passes and nothing. I call Canon who have stated that UPS have not scanned the parcel at all and that an investigation is required which may take 3-10 working days. This was on the 16th, IT IS NOW THE 30TH with no progress to theinvestigation, it has been closed twice and re-opened again, i Have lost thousands in lost business and Canon will not return MY money until they work out who is to blame. all the while i am being made to suffer, this has been the most stressful few weeks and had a negative effect on my mental health. I have called Canon every day and have been told the same thing again and again. My newly established business has lost credibility and is on the edge of failing because of this.

DO NOT BUY FROM CANON.

I wish i had gone with Sony.

How can they get away with such poor quality?

It's my own fault. I ditched a previous Canon because it had an error code. I spent hours trying to fix it but to no avail.

Then stupidly, I bought an MG3600 series printer to replace it. All I need it for is to print out shipping labels for my online business, and it can't even do that. They always come out so blurry that the RF scanners at the Post Office or Evri drop-off point can't read the the barcodes. I've tried cleaning the heads and changing the resolution. No difference.

Then I went to the Canon 'Help' pages. They are laughable. Convoluted, long-winded, and difficult to understand and in a lot of cases make no sense, and I'm tech savvy. I've wasted so much time on this piece of s**t. So basically I've got a printer that is useless to me, and will end up in the skip like the last one.

And don't get me started on the rip-off that is the replacement ink cartridges.

Cannon cash back offer is a joke and…

Cannon cash back offer is a joke and customer services is less than helpful. Camera purchased on 19 June and still waiting despite calls , twitter and Facebook questions. Latest tactic to delay the claim is 6 weeks to make the payment after it’s been approved. What is wrong* with a 2 hour bank transfer?
