Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 68 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people found the printers unreliable, frequently encountering issues like paper jams, blank pages, or devices stopping working soon after purchase. Customers also faced significant frustration with connectivity problems, including difficulties with WiFi and software compatibility, especially with non-Canon cartridges. The high cost and forced use of genuine ink, which often don't last long, were also major points of dissatisfaction. However, some people were satisfied with certain products, highlighting good print quality and speed. A few reviewers also found customer service helpful, leading to successful repairs and positive interactions.

Printers are appalling

Printers are appalling. Brittle cheap plastic part snapped on first Canon printer we had. Replaced with a more expensive model - huge mistake. Virtually every time we go to print anything there is a printer issue from paper jams to printer churning out blank pages then saying the print is complete! Never had these issues with HP models.

PIXMA print plan - waste of money

I purchased a PIXMA print plan from Canon. All was okay until my ink ran out. I expected new cartridges to be sent automatically but nothing arrived so I contacted Canon support - waste of time. It will be 2 weeks next Monday and still no cartridges. I escalated it to complaints on 12th August, still no cartridges.

Disgusted

Disgusted. I've recently purchased 2 printers as the first got paper jammed and I couldn't wait for the repair as I use the printer a lot, so I brought a second. NOWHERE does it say it can't connect to a 5 ghz network yet here I am in my new house with 2 useless brand new printers. DO NOT BUY

Don’t get a TS7650 or printplan

I bought a printer TS7650 returned it as it was faulty. Got replacement from printbase. Got fed up with cost of cartridges so ordered a print plan. Got cartridges and it worked! But within days the printer stopped by remote blocking from Canon. Turned out the payment card needed to be updated. Couldn’t do that one line. Phoned; they couldn’t or wouldn’t accept payment directly. So cancelled print plan and bought a fresh one-still didn’t work! Called , waited, called, waited etc and after about 2 weeks the block was lifted Guess what! tried to print today - BLOCKED! Called Canon but cannot fix it there and then have to escalate - somewhere! - will have to wait again.Meanwhile the new print plan has disappeared from my account, the original plan shows ‘cancelled’ though the new payment method is active and live.

Don’t get a Canon printer- cartridge ink too expensive, customer support team very polite but handcuffed- and sound frustrated by that. And here I am once more with documents waiting and no printer only because of a software switch Canon has remotely activated that no one other than a favoured few seems able to access in any way.

Misleading delivery on £2000+ order.

Really sad to be writing about this experience, as I love Canon products having used their entry level cameras for years.

I finally decided to upgrade to a new, all singing all dancing camera and kit lens - the purchase was over £2000 which is a huge amount of money for someone like me to spend on my hobby. Canon UK store said next day delivery but realistically could be up to 3 days for delivery. I guessed the delivery might be on the longer side because I made my order on a Sunday morning however, I am STIL WAITING for dispatch 3 days later!

When you spend £2000+ on an order, you expect to be treated like a valued customer, but when I spoke to Canon customer service to find out if there was an update on dispatch, Nicholas just told me that the next day is only for some products and that mine would take 1-3 days. Again, I am STILL WAITING for an email to say it has been dispatched.

Really poor experience with Canon UK so far. Next time I'll be buying products from a brick and mortar store and will consider other brands.

*EDIT - I spoke to customer service again and whilst they reiterated the previously mentioned delivery timeframes, they did at least give me an update on the item and it finally arrived today. I'm fine with deliveries taking time because we can't expect everything to arrive at the click of our fingers however, having a busy life I was concerned that the delivery would arrive whilst I was out and would either a) miss the delivery, b) have it left on the doorstep in rainy UK weather and potentially get either wet or stolen. Thankfully, it turned up no isses. I think Canon UK need to look at their delivery and dispatch information though, as it's not great to take the customer's money and then leave them with little communication about the order.

Have a pixma print plan 2 weeks ago get email notification "your print is low we are processing your print cartridge" and no replacement contacted support who are as useful as a chocolate teapot. Would have thought it was a simple matter of posting out the same day a replacement but still waiting its a miracle they are still trading with service like that!

Very poor support service

PIXMA printer. Gears grinding together making it unusable. Long winded service and repair expecting customer to arrange printing of labels(?), and packing of equipment. Insisted on receipt when I gave them date of purchase, where I bought it and order number. Surely it's the manufacturer's responsibility with little or no hassle to the customer. No more Canon for me.

Canon wriggle out of warrantyhideous Canon Ha ha they now kindly offered me a replacement for £20 more than Argos. Hell, they are useless and deluded.

BUYER BEWARE. I purchased a printer from a registered business on EBay, brand new. After spending hours on the phone to Canon they acknowledged a hardware failure. It had printed 15 pages!! As it was still in warranty I returned by post which was a nightmare. I was then told I needed a pdf of my purchase invoice. EBay seller no longer sells so I couldn’t do that . I did provide the screenshot of my purchase showing it was brand new and my name , address and purchase price. The company said they only recognise sellers such as John Lewis🙄 so now I have no printer and I’ve wasted hours getting nowhere. DISGUSTED.

Canon's advertised promotion does not exist!

Received an e-mail notification that the print cartridges I needed were in stock at a promotion price of £54.62 for Canon PGI-580BK/CLI-581 BK/C/M/Y Pigment + Ink Cartridge Multi Pack.
.
Except why you try to buy these promotional-priced items the next day on Canon's website they are full price is £57.49!
.
Tried to contact Canon but their website would not let me!
.
The Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) were asked to investigate and upheld my complaint on 29th July 2026.

TS5150: good but slow

Bought a TS5150 as recommended by Which! directly from Canon.
Although we missed the home delivery, it was delivered into the town where we could pick it up. However UPS hadn't left a note in the door and I only found where it had been delivered after speaking to Customer service and they pointing out delivery details were in my email.
Setting up the app was straightforward on a Chromebook and Android phones.
Have use the printer to print and scan and find the quality satisfactory (Which! didn't think it was good). I have found printing and shutting down slow although usage is minimal so it isn't a bother. Had to ring for an invoice which was sent on email promptly. However, registering the product was made difficult because I had to print the invoice then use the camera option to upload it. There was no "upload documents" option and the .jpeg was too large to upload. Got there in the end.

PRINTER WAS SENT OFF WITH AN ERROR CODE…

PRINTER WAS SENT OFF WITH AN ERROR CODE THAT POPPED UP, PRINTER WAS WORKING FINE TILL THIS POINT. WAS ADVISED NEEDS TO BE SENT OFF! WHAT AN INCONVIENCE. WE PACKAGED IT UP (WITH OUT CCTV WATCHING) AND GOT A QUOTE FOR £300 TO REPAIR EVEN THOUGH IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY- THEY SAID IT WAS DAMAGED ON TRANSIT AND SENT PICTURES MISSING THE ACTUAL PACKAGING WE PLACED. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE, THEY TILL YOU THEY WILL BE IN TOUCH AND NEVER DO. NEVER BY FROM CANNON IF YOU WANT IT TO LAST LONGER THAN 3 MONTHS, AND COST YOU MORE THAN THE PRINTER IN THE FIRST PLACE TO BE REPAIRED. CON ARTISTS

Canon Maxify GX 7050 is the worst ink…

Canon Maxify GX 7050 is the worst ink jet printer I have ever purchased. The duplex print function stopped working and the printer had to go back to Canon to be repaired. On receipt the printing mechanism sounded ropey. Now the ADF has stopped working. This printer is only fit for the scrapheap.

I've purchased a Canon imageClass MF465 dw printer. The thing is a nightmare in that you simply cannot make sense of the control panel. Once you attempt to change paper trays you can never again get the dumb thing to revert to another paper destination. They are trying to make it super technical and made a super nightmare

Pro camera lens - misleading quote and still not fixed

I have a Canon L-series professional lens. It stopped working and I called Canon for a repair estimate as it's a really common fault. The agent said about £100. I sent it in for repair and the repair estimate jumped to over £300, and now I have to pay if I don't like the quote. It's been sitting around with Canon for 21 days when an independent repair company could have repaired it for less than £300 and with a much quicker turnaround. Poor, poor aftercare.

The worst printers in the world

The worst printers in the world.
Its like trying to complete a maze that has no ending when attempting to connect to a network.
My 1st one was bad enough but luckily once it was connected again it was ok, just hard work to connect initially.
This new one is absolutely abysmal.
Every time its switched off it disconnects and doesn’t re-connect. The instructions are useless and it doesn’t actually say clearly how to change the password, the wifi name doesn’t show up either.
Will cut my loss, toss it in the trash and buy another.

SHOCKING AFTER CARE

Absolutely shocking!!
My daughter paid £420 for a new Canon camera recently. After 2 weeks the flash stopped working. She telephoned customer service who told her she had to return the camera (at her cost) and it would be repaired and returned to her within 3 weeks. After 5 weeks and numerous telephone calls to customer support, the camera arrived back with us - filthy dirty and a scratched screen. More calls to customer services who asked her to return the camera again and they would replace the screen. Canon have had the camera over a week and have just confirmed they have received it. This is shocking aftercare and at no time has anyone offered compensation for the inconvenience of her having to return the camera at her cost, it would be nice to hear from someone in authority at Canon to have an explanation!
