More than 3 million athletes have used CaptainU and we've helped athletes make the team at Division I giants, small, highly selective DIII colleges, and everything in between, including Canadian Interuniversity Schools, NAIA schools and Junior Colleges. Go to captainu.com to setup your profile and get started!

False advertising, rip off scam. They will email you saying coaches found you to get you to sign up and then good luck not getting charged month after month even after you cancel your service. Terrible scam.
What a joke lmao. Blatant false advertising to get you to upgrade. Complete scam.
Do not give them your credit card or information. No customer service and they will purposefully charge your card even after you have cancelled.
Website and a lot of the information is outdated as well. Can't even search colleges during the free two week trial upgrade version of the profile - have to upgrade.
Selling data without permission. I was wondering why my daughter started to get bombarded with mail from random schools. CaptainU sold our data to a college/university marketing firm.
I would give zero if I could. Constant texts and emails about coaches messaging you and for first timers you think ok cool let’s check it out. Don’t waste your money. It’s the same college blast emails that the schools send out about ID camps.
I never signed up for this and it's been several years since my kids played any sports. I still get emails even after unsubscribing SEVEN (7) different times. I finally contacted their Customer Service team, and I IMMEDIATELY began getting text messages to use their BS service. What a joke!
PS trust me, if your kids are good, colleges will find them.
USAG said this was the only authorized way for gymnastics coaches and gymnasts to connect. When reviewing, captainu makes it appear you can have a free profile where coaches can search/find the athletes and notify you. The implication is you would know which coach sent or searched and have a email. In reality , it sends you a generic notice with no information on the school or email from a coach. Then, you find out this was nothing more than a sales ploy to upsell you into various paid levels. Shame on both USAG and CaptainU for what appears to me to be slightly misleading.
No customer support. They don't respond, and of course there's no phone number. Huge discrepancy in the number if messages and views on my daughter's profile vs the emails and texts coming from their system showing big numbers. They won't repsond to my help ticket asking to explain the discrepancy. DO NOT TRUST!
Captain u is a joke I paid for over two years for my daughter playing basketball, and all I got was colleges advertising their “elite” camps. 1 month on “X” and she has four offers and committed to a D2 school. Don’t waste your money almost 100 colleges messaged her all but 1 advertising camps. Captain U is making money from both directions off parents and the schools.
At first the service was good, but it has been a disaster for us for the last 4 months. no help has been provided. I'm very disappointed. I have been paying but have no access to the account. I feel robbed. Coaches are trying to reach my daughter, but there's no access to messages for months and no matter how much help I request, our access has been forbidden since December 2023.
This site is unreliable and wholly inaccurate. Case in point. My Daughter's account says she has been added by a school to their recruiting list. However we got an email from them 2 months ago saying that they aren't recruiting for her position. And this is just one example. To date we haven't had 1 productive coach contact at any level.
Do not sign up with this company. They make it very hard to cancel your credit card.

Listen, we had to sign up for this at the Texas West state little league tournament. My daughter played on both 2022/2023 Southwest Little league World Series teams. Every now and then I have text messages saying; Hey, Clara! 5 coaches found you in a search. 3 coaches messaged you. Log in to CaptainU now. Y’all my daughter just turned 13, now way Coaches are messaging her. It’s a money grab. No I haven’t checked it and I’m not going to, they just want me to sign up for premium. @captainU I’d like to see 1 or two of these messages at no cost, then maybe I’ll bite

I am an all-region HS basketball player. I've worked really hard and average 14pts and 10 rebs a game for a school with 1k kids. It's really hard to get noticed especially since covid where all college athletes get an extra year so there are fewer recruits this year. My problem with this company is that I followed every piece of advice they gave me and my captain U score was 5,000 points above the top 10% of users. I had videos, transcripts, pictures, I emailed 15+ coaches both division 2 and 3 because that was where I could really play but I haven't gotten any profile views. No replied emails and not even a profile visit, they just send you fake notifications saying "a college scout found you in search." That means nothing it's just baiting to keep you on their subscription plan. Don't use this kind of service, just reach out to coaches on your own and get your HS coach to help.
I canceled our subscription within our first month. Checked to make sure I could only use the free version which was the case. Then to my surprise I was just charged for a new month on my card!! Went to check the account and sure enough I can access everything again. Shame on you Captainu taking advantage of parents and athletes!! Do not get suckered into trying it.
These guys are constantly emailing me and my kid.... it would be nice getting a D1 or D2 scholarship, but we live in the real world, and the reality is the chances of that happening are slim... below is the email i sent back to them on 2/8/22. Hopefully it helps someone out there....
Are college coaches really looking?..... i think recruiters are looking more than college coaches are. That way they can prey upon the hopes and dreams of gullible parents and kids and take their hard earned money. Its like going to Vegas,....the vast majority of everyone comes back with lighter pocketbooks, but there's always the story about the one lucky jackpot hitter who stuck some money in and became a millionaire. Same with these kids wanting to get into college and play professionally, etc. Keeps all the other dopes coming back and giving more and more money. This program is a money grab,...its a ripoff,... sure its my opinion,..but just read the reviews as well,.... parents are better off enrolling their kids in a money management class for 1/50th of the cost of this.
I played for a travel team and barely got any minutes, sitting on the bench, but I get spam emails saying that I have colleges and a few coaches recruiting me. It asks me to "upgrade" with my credit card information in order to see who really searched me up. This is definitely a scam, do not pay this service a penny.
They give information but when I try to search colleges not even one appears, I really feel like I'm wasting my money, don't lose your time with this
They are horrible !!! They do nothing for you that you cant do your self.My problem is they take payment with no notice of your annually is over and its not cheap. And again they do nothing.
