Ordered a plant online as I believed them to be reputable. They said they had 82 in stock but they certainly offloaded the shabbiest onto myself! Friendly email correspondence but they're not interested in my view of the state of it. I've done my best with the plant, but it still looks sad. Their description of the plant on their website is also incorrect. That should have been a red flag for me. Won't be ordering from them again

Ordered 60 bags of compost. Delivered by a man called Martin. Carried all 60 bags down a long passageway into my back garden which was way outside of what he had to do. Could not have been nicer.

Our four laurel trees are planted and we are delighted with them! The two men that did the job were exceptional as it wasn’t easy with no side passage and was pouring rain the whole time. They did an excellent job! Thank you, Susan & Michael

Have been trying to speak to owners for 5 weeks. No response. They have £6.4k of mine and not retunring my calls or giving a refund. Be careful.

I had high hopes when I engaged Caragh Nurseries for their garden design service back in early 2023. The reputation, the promise of expert advice, and the personalised approach were what drew me in.

Unfortunately, what followed has been one of the most frustrating and disappointing experiences I’ve had with any service provider (and I've worked with dozens throughout a 5-year house renovation project).

From the start, communication was patchy—emails routinely went unanswered for weeks or months, and I often had to follow up multiple times to get even the smallest update. Phone calls were rarely returned. Despite paying the full design fee upfront, as required by their terms, I still have nothing planted in my garden after 3 years!

When I suggested splitting payment 50/50 (start/completion), I was told this was against policy. I was reassured I could make as many changes as needed, and that there were no limitations based on the garden’s size... that turned out not to be true.

In May 2025, I asked for a quotation to plant the front garden as per the design provided. I was quoted just under €3,000 for planting, yet the list didn’t reflect any of the preferences I had previously communicated. It was sloppy and generic. Even worse, it didn't match their own design!
When I mentioned the list didn't fit my initial brief and asked if there was any particular reasons they would recommend these plants, I was totally ignored—again.

This has wasted years of my time and energy, with nothing to show for it. It’s appalling service, and I would strongly caution others before committing.

Have bought many trees and plants over the years from caragh. And they’re growing beautifully. I did have a problem with one but they were quick to resolve the issue.

Leaving 1 star as customer service were pleasant to deal with, and the delivery driver was very nice. But other than, a pretty bad experience.

Ordered 5 jasmine espaliers at a cost of over €2,000. Ordering process was fine and delivery was reasonably quick.

However, the plants arrived covered with mealy bugs to the point that several shoots were withered and dead. Those that weren't withered had leaves covered in black mould.

Caragh were apologetic and arranged a return, despite one of their horticulturalists insisting this was normal and not a big deal, but mealy bugs are hard to get rid of on a single houseplant, let alone 5 almost 2 metre tall trees. These should never have been delivered. I refused the offer of a partial refund and insisted on replacements.

I was assured replacements would be in stock within 2-3 weeks. It was only after waiting this long that I was told they were a different height and width compared to my original order, which was no good to me.

I eventually got a refund albeit after having to chase for it. But just a bad experience all round. Maybe I'm just unlucky and everything went wrong with my order, but I won't be chancing it again.

I have bought 5 tress for my small front garden over the past year or so from Caragh Nurseries and I am really pleased with every tree I've bought.
The staff are very welcoming and take their time to help choose the right tree for you and within your budget range too.
Special shout out to Inga, Roisin and Tara for all their help along the way.

Caragh Nursery hav just transformed my garden into a little paradise . It took the lovely David and his team a day and a half to work their magic … this is a magic experience that followed the wonderful adventures before in Caragh nurseries itself with the very lovely and extremely helpful Derek - who’s brilliant knowledge and advise has resulted in my beautiful newly planted garden .thank you Derek … the customer care is brilliant , Derek has been fantastic in checking in to ensure I was happy with everything after the planting was completed. I cannot speak highly enough of my experience with Derek , David and Caragh Nursery … they are a rare breed of professionalism and true customer care …planting magic .. thank you so much ⭐️

I correspondent with this company to purchase a ‘cloud tree’ for a new build property I have just built. I initially spoke to Tara to confirm if a delivery of this large item could be made to Northern Ireland. Tara was extremely helpful and took photographs and forwarded them to me of different types of cloud trees. I then went to their company and chose one with the help of Inga. Within a fortnight, the tree was delivered to my property 16 miles beyond Belfast by a lovely man called Oliver. He was so courteous and so professional and arrived within the appointed time even though his Sat Nav took him on a long & unnecessary route!!! I would most certainly recommend this company as every part of the transaction was efficient, professional and done with the most upmost customer care.

Fantastic experience with Derek in Caragh! We are so delighted with our multi stem Himalayan birch, it is just starting to sprout and we love it! Highly recommend this wonderful nursery for variety and knowledgable staff 👍

We have used Caragh Nurseries over the years sourcing plants and semi-mature trees. Most recently, in late January '24, we purchased native bird cherry, birch and holly online and took delivery a week later as promised. Derek in the Nursery was great to deal with, can't do enough, and Oliver dropped the nine rootballed trees (which were perfect) to us in our local park, free of charge, first thing on a Saturday morning (08:15am!) in time for our volunteers to plant.

Be careful!!
I really liked their team when I visited but when my oaks arrived they were not the strong oaks you see / they had sent me the weak runts. To the point their delivery driver laughed and said I really should be given a discount - the trees were a disgrace.
I didn’t want a discount - I wanted the strong trees I had been promised.
Be careful - mark your actual trees on their site - check and fight for them - don’t get taken in by the charm.

the service was excellent and the delivery driver Oliver could not be more helpful if the had planted the trees for us, I give him 6 stars for the help he gave us

Very disappointing experience with an on-line order. The delivery tracker didn’t work properly- it kept saying that the delivery would arrive in 1 min. This went on for about 40 minutes, I had locked my small dogs in their cage so they wouldn’t run out the front door when I was taking in the plants. It was a warm day and they were crying. When I rang Caragh to find out what was happening I received a very rude response. The driver was fine when he arrived but I’ll never buy from Caragh again.

My experience with Caragh Nurseries has been exceptional, from beginning to end. Not only were the shrubs and trees beautiful and well chosen, they were deliberately selected and recommended by the enthusiastic and knowledgeable sales team, taking into account the uniqueness and characteristics of a wide range of plants and their suitability to the environment that I live in. Customer care and delivery could not have been better, with every question considered important and quickly responded to. The Caragh crew was professional, from the design process through to the safe delivery and careful planting. To turn a vague idea of what I was looking for into reality, it took people with knowledge, experience, creativity and active listening skills. This has resulted in a beautiful garden that was specifically designed to my individual needs.

First visit to Caragh nurseries yesterday .. incredible selection of plants and trees- superb quality. Derek listened to our requirements and then walked us through pointing out various possibilities. We selected 3 no. potted trees and we are very happy with them. Against all odds they were delivered this morning less than 24 hrs after we selected them! Now, that’s service - we’ll be back. Aedeen & Aidan T.

DO NOT PAY FOR DESIGN SERVICE UNTIL YOU GET THE DESIGNS IN HAND!!!!
Shockingly poor service. Promised a design and planting plan that would suit our needs. Paid April 2023 (more fool me) Now May 2024 and still no designs per our original discussions. We missed two deadlines with our groundworks crew and had to go solo. Ian McGarry promises the world, does not deliver and then shuts down communication, and will now not provide a refund or the planting plans agreed with the plants I like or those suitable for our soil or landscape. If you like a copy and paste planting plan that seems to be their only option with hydrangeas and buxus hedging don’t waste your money!! AVOID CARAGH NURSERIES
