Absolutely disgusting I started paying money towards my dress and then to get a text message from the company saying they were forced to closed down and I paid £350 and having trouble getting my money back I’m on benefits and o been saving for a dream wedding for a long time and now for this to happen and to still showing on company’s house that they are still running and they are going by three company’s names and i don’t know what to do and I don’t even know if im getting my money back for all the brides that this has affected I would advise to contact citizens advice and they been so helpful so far

Look at Companies House filings. They requested 480 exemption for audit. A company would do this because there has been no significant trading in that financial year. Change of director and secretary, parents to sibling. Address listed. 3 Different Business names. The shop has been in trouble for a number of years. Advice for future brides, look up the business assets through Companies House before you part with money.

I'm writing this hoping that it may help others who have had the same happen to them, get their money back. Like the other reviews we also had a text message on 11/02/2025 saying they'd gone bust and we'd lost our money. My daughter had her fitting in November (her wedding is in April) and after some digging found out they had ordered the dress (Sophia Tolli branded) from the wholesaler Romantica of Devon. In the text from Cardiff Bridal Centre they told us the Order No. and Customer Reference used so I rang Romantica with those details and they said they had the dress there. It had been made but we would still have to pay for it (the same price as what we'd paid Cardiff Bridal). Drove to Devon to collect and pay as did not want to risk dealing with another dodgy company. Romantica are a legit company and had dozens of dresses in their warehouse. My daughter paid Cardiff Bridal in November using her Lloyds debit card. Told her to contact Lloyds as most banks nowadays are able to reverse debit/credit card payments. They told my daughter they would refund the payment which is now pending while they conduct their investigation. If it transpires that she hasn't received the dress as she stated and/or the company refuse to answer any correspondence the refund will be issued. Regarding Cardiff Bridal Centre, there are three companies operating from the same address 7a Mill Lane, Cardiff owned by the same guy Julian Ralph Burgess. They are Cardiff Bridal Centre Ltd (dormant company) which means they are no longer carrying out business transactions. Cardiff Bridal Ltd, this company is still active and the third company which was the name on the debit card machine receipt my daughter was given when she initially paid Bridal Magic Ltd, this company is also still active according to Companies House. If this doesn't help at all it may be worth getting in touch with Citizen's Advice and giving them as much info as possible.

Can’t believe we ordered a dress last may and paid 50 per cent of the cost of the dress to have a text message yesterday saying the shop is shut with immediate effect and she wouldn’t be receiving her dress!! Can’t claim the money back that we’ve paid either as it was too long ago, they knew this was happening as they hadn’t paid any money of her dress! Shameful service, I just hope all the brides affected go on to get new dresses sorted in time!

Absolutely disgraceful service, had a text message today saying company gone bust and my dress have not been ordered after having a fitting in june last year. Now i face trying to find another dress in a short amount of time. The company would of known they were going bust hence why my dress was not ordered, kept our money and run! you should be ashamed of yourselves you have ruined my wedding and many others i can imagine!!!!!!

Absolutely disgusting! Paid upfront for a wedding dress and recieved a random text message today asking me not to contact them as they’ve gone bust. They knew this was happening. They cancelled my dress fitting last week and the reasons being is that the dress hadn’t been delivered. Spoke to the designer and they couldn’t deliver it as they refused to pay for the outstanding dresses. Disgusting service!!!!

I had booked an appointment last minute explaining i do not know a style i want.
I was assisted by Sofia who was more than helpful! I picked a few styles and then chose the style i preferred, Sofia went off to find more dresses to suit my style. I was there for 2 hours, i tried on many different dresses!
Sofia made me feel so special and like a true princess after finding ‘the one’
Sofia spoke with Katie who gave 10% off the dress.
Sofia was honest with the dresses i tried which i loved about the experience!
I went home and took a few days to decide. I emailed for another appointment for a few people to come to see the chosen dress and manage to get myself a Bridesmaid appointment at the same time.
My bridesmaids fell in love with the dress as much as i did and brought my dream dress!!
I cannot thank Sofia enough for her service! She really is an asset to the store!

After my daughter finding her dream dress and being assured it can be altered if need be, she actually became pregnant which they thought wasn’t going to happen. The shop basically said they couldn’t help with ‘bumps’ …. We had to pay full amount for dress and she took it away on a plastic hanger. They’re so happy for the bride to be to share their experience of someone choosing the dress…. But don’t get carried away… make sure you read the small print!!! We’ve had a stressful 5 months… found a lovely local lady to put right after Cardiff bridal said it wasn’t possible. Made my daughter feel it was her fault for getting pregnant!

Ladies beware, I had a lovely experience here, it was welcoming, I felt like the consultant was really patient and couldn’t do enough for me, however I stupidly said yes to a dress that I was not 100% on and paid the £250 deposit. As I was 16 months away from the wedding and naturally wanted to lose weight I was advised that I could be measured 12 months out from the wedding and then the dress would be ordered.

I spent the whole 4 months trying to find ways to add things to the original dress, in hindsight I now know that dress was not for me.

I was so nervous calling up to say I had changed my mind, the phone was answered by Katie, to my astonishment I believe is one of directors!! She was the most passive aggressive person I have ever come across, and despite not even taking my measurements would not budge on refunding the deposit or even providing a good will gesture. I had such a lovely experience with the consultant I would have loved to have an accessory from Cardiff Bridal to be included in my day, but now I am glad they are not getting a penny more from me.

They boast being the oldest bridal boutique in Cardiff, but the truth is you can get a better selection of dresses and a million times better service elsewhere. 3 stars purely for the lovely consultant… 0 stars for the disgusting manner I was spoken to by the director when circumstances changed. Someone needs to teach this woman it doesn’t matter what position she holds she needs to speak to people in a respectful manner.

We had the pleasure of meeting our consultant Amy yesterday who was absolutely delightful. She made us feel at ease and nothing was too much trouble for her. Amy is a true asset to the shop. My daughters and I really enjoyed our appointment at Cardiff bridal shop and would recommend them to all future brides.

First time ever to try and dress on and Amy was wonderful ! So respectful, helpful, understanding to my needs and overall just fantastic ! I found my dress after about 5 try on I left with something completely different to what I ever thought I wanted I am a UK size
20 and was so worried I wouldn’t find something to fit my shape and would never get that ITS THE ONE feeling but she pulled out a wild card and by god it was the most amazing beautiful dress everything I could wish for and more can’t wait to try it on again thank you Amy xxx

Absolutely fabulous Amy was amazing made me really comfortable and was listening to things that I liked and also got other dresses that I liked. We phoned on the off chance of getting an appointment after being left disappointed from a different store and they fitted us in which was fab. I would highly recommend as Amy made my day especially as I picked my dress we are also going back to look at bridesmaids dress in a few weeks.keep up the good work ladies.

I had such a lovely experience at Cardiff Bridal Centre. I was so nervous about going to try on dresses and wasn't looking forward to the day at all. Caroline assisted me and she was so down to earth made me feel so comfortable straight away. They have a great selection and the dresses are orgainsed in a way to help you find what you're looking for. I ended up really enjoying my day and even found the perfect dress!
The little touches like your name on the mirror and a glass of prosecco were also really lovely and made it feel really personal. Highly recommended!

Absolutely amazing experience from walking in 12 months ago to going back yesterday to try my dress back on - the ladies are kind , knowledgeable , patient and make the whole experience magical just as it should be - definately book an appointment here to look for your wedding dress

Great service was made feel very welcome as soon as we arrived and was helped by a wonderful lady called Caroline, my sister chose 3 dresses she liked and then Caroline chose 1 she thought my sister would look amazing in and that is the dress we ended up buying for my sister. Thank you so much Caroline amazing experience

Ruined my wife’s big day. The whole experience from this place was awful. We even left negative reviews on Facebook but they have them removed. Can’t have them removed on here!! We have proof of purchase (receipt of dress)

I only give one star, because I am unable to give less in order to leave a review. Arranged an appointment week before. I was told by a store assistant they had a large range of wedding dresses to match the style I asked for. I arrived today after travelling two hours to a choice of two dresses. The store assistant tried a dress on me, after looking at it in dread I asked the size and designer she told me the dress was a size 16, I am a size 6, that's five sizes to big. I don't have any enjoyment about saying this, however I found the assistant the worst I have ever experienced so far. She did apologise for my wasted journey which I appreciate however I have to say after visiting a few bridal shops (all nice experiences) this by far was the the most bizarre and worst experience I have had to date. I did find a shop in Cardiff last minute who fitted me in called , Timelss Elegance Bridal. They were amazing the two bridal assistance were amazing, they made me feel so special and I laughed the whole time I was there. I bought a dress which was perfect. Brilliant ladies fully recommend.

My sister and myself have had dresses from Cardiff bridal centre. Today I had my final fitting. They have been so amazing and understanding throughout with me and have always been professional. The staff are so nice and understanding as my weight has changed etc.. they have been nothing but friendly an lovely ...hats off to them .they give great customer service..thank u guys. Cant wait to bring my daughter in for her wedding dress xx

Literally just got back from Cardiff from my 3.30pm appointment!! What an absolutely amazing experience we had. An amazing range of dresses... for a self conscious person who has had bad experiences elsewhere I fell in love with a lot of dresses and have no words to describe how I feel coming out of there! Caroline went above and beyond and stayed way past her finishing time to help me. She has really made me feel special and feel like a bride! Everyone there was so kind and made me feel comfortable with what I think are my flaws. Caroline - THANK YOU for giving us such a good experience. What a beautiful, kind hearted woman you are!! Xxx

Never in my life have I dealt with such rude unprofessional people! They were lovely to begin with and couldn't help me enough. They failed to change the name on my contract to the correct name, making the contract unenforceable. The manner of K***e is beyond appalling and disgusting. Her attitude and response to me was "I am above the law and my decision is final", appalling, stay clear and shop elsewhere.
