Dear Traders,

As you may have noticed, during yesterday's trading session on EUR/USD, the US Retail Sales news triggered a significant decline in the EUR/USD price chart, resulting in a rapid and substantial drop (see screenshot: https://www.carinabot.com/screenshots/screenshot2.jpg). Unfortunately, Carina executed a series of four trades, two of which resulted in significant losses.

We have been investigating the causes of these trades and are working on modifying Carina's trading algorithms to prevent such occurrences in the future.

Historically, many traders have requested that we adjust Carina's risk strategy and increase the risk of the bot to increase the potential profits. We regularly update our bot, impacting its trading strategy, decision-making algorithms, and overall performance. Most recently, on July 14, Carina VPS was updated to version v1.7.1.

Trading often involves an element of luck and risk, and yesterday was particularly unlucky and particularly risky due to a series of unfortunate coincidences. The sharp drop in EUR/USD led Carina to detect four separate and conflicting entry points, resulting in mixed signals about which trades to open, the number of trades, and their direction. This chaos led to unusual Carina's risk-calculations, causing leverage to escalate exponentially with each subsequent trade. Each trade was opened with increasingly larger leverage, spiraling out of control.

It's important to note that all these trades were protected by stop-loss limits. The issue was not the absence of stop-loss but the relatively large leverage used in the third and fourth trades. When these trades hit their stop-loss limits, they were closed at a loss, as the market moved against us.

What's next:
We have already reverted to CarinaBot version v1.6.0. We apologize for the risky calculations that occurred during yesterday's trading session and the EUR/USD decline during the news announcements. We too have suffered losses from these trades, and we understand the disappointment this has caused among users. However, we assure you that we continuously strive to enhance the bot's performance through updates and proper testing, although perfection is unattainable.

Moving forward, we will intensify our testing procedures before releasing updates. With the upcoming version v1.8.0, we aim to improve the bot's performance, increase profitability, and reduce risk. However, please remember that trading inherently involves significant risk. Trading with Carina, or any other robot, or manually, trading in general, always comes with a significant risk of losing the capital. Please carefully read the Risk Warning section of our Terms of Use again before deciding to continue using our robot. When you use our bot for trading, it is entirely on your own account and at your own risk. The decision to use the bot is yours alone. We are not responsible for managing your funds or the outcomes of your trades, even when those trades are made while using our bot. Trading remains solely yours, and only your responsibility.

Currently, CarinaBot version 1.6.0 should be displayed in the top-right corner of your bot (please check it). The installation of version v1.8.0 will be automatic, and it will happen in couple of following days. For details on keeping your CarinaBot updated, please refer to our FAQ (Q: How to keep my CarinaBot updated?). Please note that based on our Terms of Use we install updates without prior notice or consent. All updates have always been, and will continue to be, installed automatically without prior notice or consent.

We are committed to making Carina a better tool for trading, but it is essential to recognize the risks involved. We appreciate your understanding and support.

Thank you.

Carinabot is a Scam - Beware!

I have been using Carinabot for an extended period, and it has unfortunately revealed itself to be a scam. They have burned through 99% of my funds, leaving me with only $100 out of my original $3000 investment. This is clearly a fraudulent operation.

Many other users have also been left with nothing, which strongly indicates that this was a planned scheme to take all our money for themselves.

I urge everyone to steer clear of Carinabot and avoid investing any money with them. It's a trap designed to deceive and rob unsuspecting investors.

Stay safe and protect your hard-earned money by investing elsewhere.

One big scam

One big scam! Everyone lost almost 99 % of their money while their own account “only” lost around 30% of their funds. Stay far away from carinabot or future similar projects in USDT only and not backed by any goverment!

Our account balance was 225,775 USD.

We had two really bad trades, one was -190,845 USD and another one was -26,787 USD. Our total loss was -217,632 USD from our total balance 225,775 USD. That means our loss was 96%.

If you are looking at our previous trading history, previous profits and withdrawals, yes, we had many profits there. But we also withdrew them. Please read our Terms of Use, we strongly advice to our users to do the same, and withdraw your profits on regular basis. This helps you to keep your losses relatively smaller (relative to your longer trading history).

If you trade 5 years, and you withdraw profits every year, of course you can’t lose the profits from previous years, when you already withdrew it. You can also use what you have on your trading account. We had 225,775 USD on our trading account yesterday, and we lost 217,632 USD from it.

Please be aware that we strongly recommend our users to regularly withdraw their profits. This recommendation is clearly highlighted in our Terms of Use and emphasized in the Risk section. Regular withdrawals help protect against sudden market drops and significant losses.

I "luckily" lost only 110$

I "luckily" lost only 110$. I was using their demo account for a full month and everything seemed fine. I decided to invest a small amount of 125$ just over a 1 1/2 months ago. Everything went well (I've earned about 7.3$ in the meanwhile) and I had decided to invest 2k by the end of the week. Now I'm left with 20$. I got the same answers like everybody else. And, of course, NO REFUND. They might consider refunding the last payment of fees.

Update... I'm sick and tired of your automated responses. Nowhere on Terms mentioned the risk of TOTAL loss of funds. And even if it said, it wouldn't be an excuse for poor testing. On EVERY response you mentioned that something about the bot WENT WRONG, yet no refund. We don't care about your losses. You lost money due to YOUR mistakes. We lost money for trusting you...

WARNING DO NOT USE!

WARNING, DO NOT USE.

Anyone that recommends this EA is a fool or a friend of the developers, my account was blown in one night after using carina for nearly a year of steady growth, the EA opened 2 trades that were so disproportionate to the account balance and blew the account, the developer is trying to blame market volatility, this is rubbish, it was the size of the trades placed, who would risk the entire balance on 1 to 2 trades! can provide evidence if required, the developers account lost over $200k USDT with two trades! 1st loss was -9.7 pips and the 2nd was -8.8 pips, 18.5 pips to blow the account, check this out for yourself it’s public knowledge on their website.

The generic reply from the developers stating that forex trading is risky is laughable! It was the last update that was released without proper testing, perhaps this was an elaborate plan from the beginning? gain our trust then set the EA to take these ludicrous trades then they took the opposing positions, easily done if your the puppet master.

I smell a rat

You’ve been warned!

Human factor failed horribly

As everyone here could complain. I lost my whole capital of money because of this "inconvenience" that happened. No safety guard in the system was built. apperently insufficient testing of the new version. Even tho I am not using this bot again because it just lost my trust, I feel the urge to write a review. I know bloopers happens but the developer operates with thousands of dollars and wasted them like a child for nothing.

Thank you.

Today had a DD of at least 90%

Today had a DD of at least 90%. That doesnt seem right. Carinabot was good for a long period, but a software error made it crash. Carinbot states it had to do with volatility but that is misleading BS. Also they state that there were many trades. There were only 2.
Avoid this if you care about your money.

Sadly like everyone else my funds got…

Sadly like everyone else my funds got wiped in two minutes by a very serious error in the software. 5k gone in two minutes, left with less than 200 in my account. There is just no way I can trust this software again now having been such a fan of it. I use various trading systems and understand there risks, this was supposed to be the lower risk, lower returns and longer term investment option. Still a bit dazed at what has happened today.

Hello dear Trader,

We are sorry that our bot is not perfect and makes mistakes. However hard we try to improve it, we will never be able to eliminate all risks completely. Automated forex trading always comes with risk (see Section 4 Risk Warning of our Terms of Use, and disclosures on our website).

Carina is still an experimental machine learning system. It learns and continuously changes over time. And this time, it made a serious mistake. Version 1.7.1 was definitely unstable and had some problems, bugs, or errors that we were not aware of. Based on the data we have now (which we are still studying), it seems like a combination of several factors caused the issue. High volatility in EURUSD at the time, along with a series of trades opened within a short session, led to a mistake in the bot, causing it to exponentially increase the trading amount with each subsequent trade.

We're currently considering modifying the trading algorithm to enhance profitability and recover losses quickly. However, implementing such changes carries significant risk and could potentially destabilize the bot. We're facing a challenging decision as we explore various options to boost performance without compromising stability or increasing risk unnecessarily. At this moment, we don't have a specific plan but are diligently researching and working on potential solutions.

A the moment, we need some time, we experienced significant losses today as well, and we are really busy with work at the moment. We need some space and time to figure out the next plan. We'll keep you updated once we have any news.

When deciding whether to keep using CarinaBot or not, please keep in mind that it’s an automated trading robot. It was, it is, and it always will come with a significant risk. Trading is always risky. Please read Section 4 Risk Warning of the Terms of Use.

Be aware

Hello, first of all this review will not be short. It is written clear minded.

I tested carinabot like a year with different currencys and all worked fine until today. Small wins small, small losses, like daytrading my self.
Today carinabot took 2 trades an lost 90% of all users accounts...

The point is not that 2 trades were lost, the point is how i can be that carinabot uses the hole account to trade. Every daytrader should be using 1-2% for propper riskmanagement. Mentioning a risk warning here and on the website is a nice to know. Despite of that nobody was expecting that the bot uses no propper riskmanagement, regardless of the teading leverage. To be honnest if i can lose all funds in one trade i do not need a bot.

After the loss, they changed the risk warning, adding you can lose everything. I only want to mention offring there services for experts and porrfolio manager...

The update to version1.7.1 were unstable according to carinabot with errors and bugs. Was the backtesting period of this update long enougth an efficent, a question that can be asked.

Now im reading in a few answers of carinabot that they want to increase the profitability to recover the losses. The big question how to recover 90%loss?

All actual uses sufferd a lot today, and hope the new users can be better aware of the situation

Ps: I do not need an generic answer

Version v1.7.1 was deployed on July 14th, just two days ago. This version included changes within the bot, as many updates do when trying to improve it. We want to assure you that immediately after today's issue, version v1.7.1 was taken down and replaced with the older and stable version v1.6.0.

We sincerely apologize for the problems caused by the bot today. The issue appears to have stemmed from a series of unfortunate coincidences: a significant decline in EUR/USD today, increased volatility, and Carina's algorithm detecting four separate but conflicting entry points (potential points to enter a trade). Unfortunately, after each trade, the bot increased the trading volume exponentially. These factors led to a series of four trades today. If the bot had decided to open only the first one or two trades, today's result would have been much different. Similarly, if the bot had opened all four trades using the same volume, the outcome would have been different. Unfortunately, this was not the case, and each trade was opened with a much larger volume, continually increasing the risk against the available trading balance.

Please rest assured that CarinaBot VPS v1.7.1 is no longer in production, and we have deployed v1.6.0 instead, which should make more conservative trades. However, we must remind you that even with v1.6.0 currently deployed, we cannot guarantee any specific outcomes or results or provide any assurances of lower risk. Carina is a speculative automated trading system. It speculates on price changes in EUR/USD, and speculation always comes with significant risk, which we can never entirely eliminate. The use of CarinaBot is at your own risk, and past performance does not guarantee future results. The use of this software can cause significant losses, and we are unable to eliminate this risk entirely, no matter how hard we try. CarinaBot comes with no guarantees whatsoever. For more information, please refer to Section 4, Risk Warning, of the Terms of Use.

Just lost all my investments

Just lost all my investment (over USD 47k) because of an uncharacteristically poor trading performance. I'm still in shock (and can see I'm not the only one affected per recent reviews posted today).

Up till yesterday, everything had been working well. Some sort of a recent upgrade in the bot pushed recently, yet not communicated nor run by us, the users, for us to have the chance to understand (and consent to the changes) ended up opening the trade with ~98% of the full capital...

Edited: CarinaBot's team's passive-aggressive and incredibly defensive "template" response stating they "are sorry their bot is not perfect" is pathetic. We're not talking about profits going down or no profits at all... This isn't about making small mistakes. This was a killer, where basic stop-loss function was not triggered. Basics! And I bet they didn't do the proper testing before pushing their updated code. They were doing fine with the older version (tested for almost an entire year! No problems... 3.7-3.9% monthly profits). What a shame.

I'm still in shock. Over the course of an hour, they obliterated my entire investment fund!

All gone

Like the commenters below, this was going 'OK' for the last few weeks, only to have everyone's accounts basically wiped out in a matter of minutes by two trades initiated by the bot. There is clearly no safety built in to the program because the trades placed were literally 300x larger than the normal small trade made by the bot.

Yes, Forex trading is risky, as is placing your trust into a black box that you have no control of. However, they really dropped the ball on this one, and I don't see how they can EVER be trusted again.

This is a scam bot

This is a scam bot, for over a year it made $1000 for me and I was lucky that withraw all of my money, and only left $200 in it, in a single trade it did 250,000 units EUR|USD, how is that even possible, this shows that the broker is also a scam that alows that many units for an account that has $200 in it, I feel bad for all the people that lost money because of this scam company.

Everything blown

Everything blown. Everything was fine I was using it for 4 months. Today something unexpected happened. For one trade the whole portfolio was used resulting in more than 95% loss. Over 20 k dollars were lost..
This is the feedback received from them:
Dear CarinaBot Users,

We hope this message finds you well, despite the recent unexpected events with CarinaBot during today's trading session. We regret to inform you that due to volatile conditions in the EUR/USD market, CarinaBot experienced significant losses from two trades earlier today.

We urge you to revert your CarinaBot to the stable version 1.6.0 to avoid any further issues associated with the latest upgrade, version 1.7.1. Please urgently make sure ASAP that your robot is downgraded (see this screenshot:

To provide clarity on today's events: Initially, CarinaBot executed successful trades during a period of unusual market instability, leveraging sudden fluctuations in the EUR/USD pair. However, subsequent actions inadvertently triggered a series of high-volume trades following an unexpected decision to increase the trading volume with each trade. This, compounded with market volatility, resulted in losses.

We understand the gravity of this situation and the impact it may have on you. Rest assured, our team is fully committed to investigating the root cause, fixing the issue, and implementing safeguards to prevent this from happening again. Currently, we are working really hard, all of us, on server maintenance, restarting the bot and rebooting our AI, and algorithmic adjustments to ensure stability moving forward.

We kindly ask for your patience during this critical period. Due to the high volume of emails from you, our support capacity is limited, but please be assured that we are working really very hard now. Updates regarding our progress will be communicated promptly.

Regarding concerns expressed about CarinaBot's performance, we acknowledge the inherent risks associated with automated trading and with using experimental AI technologies. While today's losses are regrettable, it's important to note that trading with CarinaBot is, always was, and always will be, highly speculative and higly risky, as outlined in our Terms of Use (Chapter 4. Risk Warning) and website disclosures.

Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding. We also experienced a significant trading loss on our personal trading accounts. Given the size of our personal trading capital, this loss is very painful for us personally too. Please bear with us as we work really hard now to restart our AI-bot, restart and reboot our Carina servers, identify the error made by Carina, and fix the bot again.

ALL MY MONEY IS GONE!!!

I have been doing business with Carinabot for over six months now. Every month I have achieved a nice profit, but today everything went completely wrong. Normally, they trade with a maximum of 0.20% per trade, but today it was 90%. I had 6600 dollars in my account, and now there is only 250 dollars left. HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN??????

After using the bot for about 8 months…

After using the bot for about 8 months the bot blew my account today. Today there were 2 trades taken which were extremely large volume trades which caused the account to be close to 100% over exposed in any one trade. I had a balance of close to 1.4k which is now down to 0.05! This is great gross-mismanagement from the development team and owners that such a risk was allowed to be taken to wipe out the account! They have since sent an email covering them selves to state trading involves risk etc but this is nothing to do with risk it is to do with fault with their robot and there should be ownership taken on the matter!
