Bought carplay2air. It was more work to try and use than just plugging my phone in. I said I wanted to return it. They said there would be a $25 restocking fee plus I would have to take it to the post office and pay the freight to ship it all the way to China! I had no idea I was buying directly from a company in China! Don’t ever buy anything from this company.

Really poor experience. Upgraded the firmware and even though it said "Upgrade successful" it completely stopped working. It bricked itself! I made huge efforts to fault-find for them, asked for videos and pointless questions which have no effect on it working or not! But no, it is broken! The return process is then TERRIBLE - After all the effort I went to for them to fault find, I am asked to submit lower value for customs but they won't cover loss of return so expect it posted to China insured! I explained to them they cannot ask for a fraudulent low customs declaration value if they then need me to insure it for full amount! That is madness!!! No other company expects expensive return to China insured very expensive postage which is a high percentage of the buy price! Every other return I have ever done is either collected by Company or you send back not insured and simply proof of postage is enough! They won't even post a replacement until unit received, again the proof of postage is not enough so expect weeks without it! Overall a horrible experience and I would not recommend this adapter to anyone purely based on their horrible return policies!

The overall experience is frustrating!
I have ordered it on november the 25th 2021. It’s mid January 2022 and the device is still in the “ready for shipment” state somwhere in China.

I previously wrote a review stating that I had bought and paid for my unit November 27th and it hadn’t arrived. At this time it still hasn’t arrived and the tracking information has been shambolic, to say the least. The last tracking information that I saw mentioned Post New Zealand in the text, even though I live in Ireland. I don’t know if I will ever get what I have paid for but, on the basis of my pre-delivery experience and other reviews- Avoid, Avoid, Avoid

Waste of money.

Ordered this on 30th of November with promise of 7-10 days delivery, no parcel updates since 3rd of December. Today is 18th of December, regardless of several inquiries the responses are irregular and has not provided any new information in the past 6 days, I asked for a refund since they are not keeping their part of the bargain, no response for a day or two. This is where I started the credit card expense cancellation, since I since learned about their shady consumer practices. I have also selfdeclared their shady returns policy void as in my view the transaction is no longer valid because of their non fulfillment of the order. Please read through the comments on this site, I was not as fortunate when I ordered, to check the reviews. In their last e-mail (after the credit card expense cancellation) they are still declining refunds, which only backs the justification of the cancellation. They have no intention to treat their customer with any dignity or customer rights principles, your money is all they car for. Most likely just a rebranded Carlinkit, sold for double the price, from what I have learned online later on.

I was sceptical about purchasing this due to the poor reviews, however I’m happy to say it works perfectly. No more having to plug in my phone every time I get in the car. It auto connects to the phone and opens CarPlay on the screen in the car.

I ordered this product and it’s frankly a scam. I didn’t realize it was coming from china and I wasn’t provided tracking and no communication, after 3 weeks, I filed a claim for no arrival. It arrived so I dropped that claim. But then the product didn’t work. After 10 mins, it would cause the screen in my 2021 to glitch and reset. Using air play via wired connection never did this. I contacted them and they said they would only return it if I paid to ship it to China ($30-40) plus a $25 restocking fee. I only paid $99 so I would have practically paid to have nothing. I asked if they were willing to provide other options (ie partial refund) since it was defective product and they refused to help in anyway. They also will delete and block any negative review on their website or Facebook to pad their reviews. They deleted mine off both. AVOID AND SEEK ANOTHER OPTION.

Order at your own peril. If it works you're good but god help you if you need any after-sales service or support. I had a duplicate order due to a failed transaction and even contacting them 5 minutes after the order, they indicated they "couldn't" cancel it, despite it only shipping more than a day later. Can't, or wouldn't?

The reality is they don't seem to care whether the product is good or whether you like it.

Reviews on their website are faked or they are deleting negative reviews. Despite the one-sided negative reviews here, their website only shows positive reviews and a handful of 3-star reviews that aren't too negative. I posted a negative review after my experience and it has yet to appear.

I’ve been using this in my 2021 Volvo XC60 for almost a month. Set up was easy, but it’s been glitchy from day one. It routinely freezes, or the volume control stops working, or the connection drops entirely. It can’t go more than 30 minutes without some sort of problem.

Customer support was very responsive and offered troubleshooting, but the problems actually got worse after a firmware update, so I finally asked for a refund, but they refused because I was then past their 15-day return window—and even it it had been eligible for a return, they require customers to pay for shipping (with tracking) back to China and then add a $25 restocking fee.

Based on other reviews, this thing might work. But it’s definitely buy at your own risk. I’m out CAD $160 for a cheap dongle that I’m sure isn’t worth more than $20 to produce.

Other newer products have better reviews, so I’d suggest you look around. And maybe buy on Amazon so you’re guaranteed a legitimate return policy.

When it finally arrived the setup worked fairly well. There is about a 1 second delay in everything so very annoying to speak on the phone. The main problem though is stability, which makes it useless. It can cut out at any time while speaking on the phone, navigating or playing music. The company dumps all these issues in your lap and only accepts a return if you pay for shipping as well as a $25 restocking fee if the product is not faulty. Talk about nerve. I advise you to stay away, there are other items on the market that works better.

The company sent me out a product that doesn’t work and then when I tried to return it they were going to charge me for the return despite me sending video proof that their product is faulty. In order for me to get a replacement I had to pay to both track and send my device to be shipped back so in the end I would have paid half the price of the product jus to return it. Don’t waste your money. Their customer service is horrific and they won’t take care of you even if the product is defective. Just threw $100 in the trash and want to make sure no one else has the same experience.
I have a 2020 jeep gladiator (which is on the approved list of vehicles that are compatible) and the product shuts off 4-5 times in a 20 min drive and the only way to fix it is to unplug and plug back in. Despite all of my troubleshooting the product doesn’t work.

Worked one month and they told me to update it. The update made the device completely die. They want me to send back to China and promise to send a new one but I have to pay to ship it. They website said no returns, so I’m just going to toss this one and look for something sold in USA.

These people are totally crooks. Not only does device not work, they make it next to impossible to return. They will not answer questions, and the cost of return to China is more than the cost of device. Don’t be misled by reviews on their website. Go elsewhere for reviews and you will see they are a total scam.

I had already tried to buy, but the last delivery was lost, the money was returned by Paypal, not by the manufacturer.
I tried to make a new delivery by paying $ 29.95 more. This time the shipment arrived (in 12 days, not the 2-3 indicated on the site), but I had to pay 13.41 Euros for customs duties !!
I tried to ask for assistance, but got no answer.
I was forced to open a new PayPal complaint.

I got the dongle delivered in fair time, but I had plenty of initial problems to get it running.
Afters som hard work the dongle started working.
I tried both rating and asking question on their web site, but none of them showed up which leads me to believe that they do not publish any real posts.
All reviews are 5 star and they are most certainly made up by the company itself. AND they do it continuously.

Bought their CARPLAY2air dongle and received one that did not work for my VW Polo 2018. Contacted their customer service who told me I needed to firmware update it through IP: 192-168-2-5 It solved the problem and they told me to update it regularly.

A year later when I sit in the car the update runs in loop and never stops. It just keeps trying to connect to my iPhone in loop.
I again contact customer service who would like to exchange it for a new unit - BUT I had to send the old one back to China from Denmark (which costs the same as a new one in postage) which I had to pay.

It's a huge problem that they can send out an update that destroys the dongle forever and on top of that will not take responsibility for it.

In addition, they do not bother to spend time reading the emails, they often answer something completely different than what you ask for.

Stay away they have poor customer service. Bought for 129 then in a week the price went to 99 I reached out for a price match and they said because the order is processed they could not honor the price. I paid through PayPal and I know that is a bunch of bull. I would have returned it but there return policy is even worse. Stay away.

I do not recommend to anyone. Save yourself the frustration and money. I’ve had it less than a month. Since day one out of box it disconnects and reconnects non stop, sometimes 10 or more times and this happens every few minutes. Instructions are vague. It’s a lightweight piece of plastic no buttons or indicators…very expensive doesn’t do the job. For any car drive it’s useless having radio, music or navigation interrupted every few mins. This isn’t a Kickstarter campaign this should not happen. I really hoped it’d resolve on it’s own because been looking for wireless CarPlay option. Troubleshooting, firmware updates, setting up again multiple times useless. It’s unusable and I basically put it back inoriginal box now sits in my trunk. Customer service says needs a video recording to keep troubleshooting. Troubleshooting? This is a new device w issues. I don’t want a exchange it’s senseless now learning the # of pple w same issue. add in fact it’s real complicated for the buyer-it’s drop shipped directly from overseas, no option doing return in the U.S. Would be international shipping paid out of my own pocket lessening the likelihood of a return from buyers. They sent me a link to review I added this review on their site well it didn’t post. This isn’t some $30 adapter, I’m highly disappointed and ripped off. UPDATE: a few weeks later their sales rep emails saying there’s a promo of $99 for an adapter, I replied back about my dilema. I receive no reply, well a few days later I get an email reminder from him again that the promo is almost up. Unbelievable.

Was slightly worried by the online comments concerning customer service but I couldn’t fault Irene who kept in contact all the way through the shipping process. I was provided with shipping info for most of the journey and the adapter arrived when they said it would. So, does it work? We’ll, yes....most of the time! When I plugged it into my Jaguar I-Pace it connected and voila! Wireless Apple CarPlay! And 99% of the time when I get in with my phone in my pocket, it just connects. And then occasionally it doesn’t. But...all you have to do is unplug the adapter from the usb and plug it in again and, for the convenience it provides, it’s well worth that slight, occasional, glitch. Great product!

And, a couple of weeks later, whether it was updated over the air I don’t know, but it now works 100% of the time. Not failed once!
