Waste of time and money

I booked Nick Carson of Carsons Cleaning services to clean the carpets and suite at the house that I had just bought before I moved in. I foolishly didn't look for any reviews and just took what was on the website as a given. He quoted £235 but gave me a discount down to £200. You will see a machine on his website that looks quite impressive, that was why I booked him. This isn't actually the machine he uses. He comes with a basic DIY style machine, squirt and suck, that has a big bucket. This machine is next to useless. he did all my carpets and my suite in 2 hours, not bad for £200 but he could talk a good job and he had been all over the carpets and the suite by then. We had hoovered everything before hand including the suite to make it easy. They were now wet and so we couldn't see the results, I paid him and he went on his way and looked forward to seeing the results the next day.
I should have been suspicious when I saw the water that came out the machine wasn't that dirty, I put it down to the carpets being cleaner than I thought.
Anyhow after they dried it was clear that the carpets and the suite were much like they were before Nick Carson arrived. In fact the cream suite now had stripes on it. So granted it had been cleaned in a few places.
The carpets looked no different. We decided to check the capets and we cleaned a metre square ourselves using a £50 Vax machine. It was quickly apparent this machine was much better than the Carson cleaning machine at the water that was collected was dark with colour and the water had a dog hair ball from the previous house owners dog. We now have a light patch in our cream carpet which we will sort by cleaning the carpets ourselves with our £50 vax. I asked for a £150 refund allowing for Nick Carson to be paid a reasonable sum for his time (£25 an hour), nothing was refunded and when I suggested I would be reviewing his services due to the quality of service he told me to 'knock myself out'.
However all I have done here is recorded my experience honestly.

If you want any cleaning services, even if you are in a rush you must read reviews and get a personal recommendation.
