CarTax.gr is a Greek tool for anyone thinking of importing a used car from Germany or elsewhere in the EU. Paste a mobile.de or AutoScout24 advert link: CarTax.gr reads the advert, finds the exact version of the car and calculates the Greek registration tax the way the law does (Law 5222/2025). The new-car price comes from the price lists importers file with the Greek tax authority (AADE), adjusted for age and mileage, with the official CO₂ and Euro-standard rates. The report also shows the costs up to Greek plates (transport, customs agent, inspection) and the yearly road tax, before you pay a deposit. The first report is free. If you want, a partner handles the purchase, transport and registration for you.

Absolutely brilliant – a must-use for anyone importing a car!
CarTax is honestly one of the most useful websites I’ve come across when it comes to importing a car into Greece. The whole process of calculating import taxes can be confusing and stressful, but this website makes everything so much simpler.
It’s incredibly easy to use, well-designed, and gives you a clear breakdown of the costs without having to spend hours researching everything yourself. It really helps you understand what to expect financially before making such an important decision.
What impressed me most is how straightforward and professional the entire experience feels. It’s exactly the kind of tool that was missing from the Greek market.
I genuinely recommend CarTax to anyone considering importing a vehicle. An excellent idea, brilliantly executed, and a huge time-saver. Definitely deserves 5 stars!
