A little piece of paradise

We spent 3 weeks in a little piece of paradise. Total privacy - packed too many clothes - lovely views of Noto, a lovely little pool, and a very well equipped home from home. We hired a scooter and regularly buzzed into Noto in the evening for entertainment, food and great ambience. When we didn’t go out we cooked in the well equipped kitchen and ate out on the patio. There were plenty of beaches and we regularly went to one about 15 mins from villa that was stunning. A lovely family of cats kept us company, along with a fox who came for tea every evening, all of whom added to the very relaxed feeling of the place.
We had the most perfect holiday and have already booked to return next year. Thank you Richard and Sue and the lovey Emi, who met us when we arrived (at 2am) we can’t wait to return

Casa Isabella: an oasis of calm.

Casa Isabella is an oasis of calm, set in almond and olive groves. The location, very close to Noto, is excellent, with all the lovely town of Noto has to offer, as well as beautiful beaches and cultural highlights in abundance. The hosts have really got it right, here, by providing very comfortable, well-equipped accommodation with comprehensive information for the guest and good WiFi, as well as an easy handover process, thanks to their friendly caretaker. Casa Isabella is a delightful, Sicilian getaway.

Wonderful Gem

My husband and I stayed at Casa Isabella for a week in July. It is a wonderfully private spot up a steep drive with beautiful views of Noto off in the distance. I completely concur with other reviewers and can't add much, except to gush on and on about how wonderful the experience was. Richard was extremely attentive to details before, during and after our stay. Emi the caretaker took wonderful care of any need we had during our stay. We have stayed in many, many self-catering places throughout our travels and Casa Isabella has to rank among the best equipped of them. I cannot think of one thing that we may have needed that was not there. The kitchen equipment is beyond compare, truly. Richard and Sue use it as an Italian home base for stretches of time and are generous enough to share it. It has a homey feeling. The air conditioning was superb as it was very hot when we were there. The pool was also a fun refuge to cool down and relax. Honestly, without the pool we would have spend much less time outside as it was too hot to be outside during the heat of the day . The towns of Noto and Avola are great to visit. Noto is Baroque and more touristy, but Avola (think Nero d'Avola wine) is a great town with local flavor. We took some of Richards restaurant and store recommendations and were not disappointed. Do yourself a favor and stay here! You won't regret it.

Casa Isabella: an enchanted domain!

We have just returned from the third visit to Casa Isabella, and are already planning a return next year. Casa Isabella is enchanting. Its location is peaceful and serene, with glorious views over countryside to Noto, one of the many Baroque towns in the area. The garden is a delight, with a beautiful planting design hosting all the glories of Mediterranean flowers and succulents. Beyond and below are acres of terraces with ancient olive, almond, pomegranate and citrus trees. The casa itself is beautifully maintained and equipped to a very high standard - particularly the kitchen, which is a real joy if, like us, you enjoy cooking local produce. The owners are extremely helpful and respond immediately to the smallest query; however, given the very comprehensive guide to the casa which the owners have written, there should be little or no need for further help.

5 weeks in Sicilian paradise

With 2020 being so uncertain, my partner and I decided to take advantage of the opportunity to spend a significant amount of time in one place, remotely working, while enjoying nature and Sicilian vibes. Upon finding Casa Isabella online we fell in love with our idea even more– we immediately contacted the owner Richard and from there we planned a 5 week stay at Casa Isabella in July/August. Richard was very responsive, super helpful in providing directions and answering any questions we had and ensuring that Rita could welcome us when we arrived. Rita (a local who helps Richard set up the house for renters) was such a sweet person and made our stay simply great, I even hired her weekly to clean the house. Casa Isabella is situated in a beautiful area, with breathtaking views of Noto and a spectacular sunset, in fact we enjoyed many evening aperitivos and BBQs simply enjoying the surroundings. The house is very quaint and modest and has absolutely everything you need for a lovely and comfortable stay. The kitchen is well furnished with great appliances, pots/pans etc… all you need to make some truly delicious meals with the fresh local products. As we stayed at Casa Isabella during the height of the summer heat, we were delighted with the well-functioning and new Air Conditioner that Richard had installed, it was a life saver. Lastly, I need to call out the great WiFi connection throughout the house and even outside surrounding the house – I spent 2 weeks remotely working in paradise and I cant wait to plan something similar in the future. My colleagues were quite jealous of my Sicilian garden backdrops on video 😉

To summarize, we loved everything about Casa Isabella - we enjoyed the professionalism and friendship like manner in which Richard treated us (he even allowed us to stay one extra night), we became attached to the adorable cats that greeted us every day, we are nostalgic to the smell that was outside of the front door of sage and rosemary, and we miss the beautiful context that house is in and the overall vacation vibes. We would most certainly return and recommend Casa Isabella to family & friends.

Grazie mille

Beatitudine in campagna

If you are looking for peace and quiet, then this is the place for you. A small, but very well equipped cabin; acres of garden, with olive, lemon, pomegranate, grapefruit and orange trees tumbling down the hillside, wonderful views from the terrace and not a soul in sight. The centre of historic Noto is a good 20 mins walk away but if you are not wanting to walk, and have not hired a car, there is a very good taxi service in the town (phone number in the information pack). Siracusa and Ortigia are easily accessible by train (there is no ticket machine at the station so buy your ticket online or on the train, and for lovers of nature Vendicari Nature Reserve is nearby.

Our second stay - highly recommended.

We have stayed at Casa Isabella twice and loved it on both occasions. The house is not huge, but it is very comfortable and cleverly laid out, with a comfortable bed, good shower and well equipped kitchen. Even more special is the outside space, a beautiful garden and terrace with two covered areas for outside eating and the most beautiful views over the almond and olive trees to Noto on the other side of a valley. The owner is exceptionally helpful both before, during and after the holiday. On the second occasion we stayed here with our three year old son, and he loved it too.

Casa Isabella waits for you

Located up a steep drive with the most fabulous view of Noto across the valley, Casa Isabella is a great place to be. The house is small but has everything you need as well as a very well equipped kitchen if you are wanting to try out some Sicilian recipes...the outside space is fabulous with two seating areas to choose from...and if you are into feline company then some visiting cats will certainly come around in the hope of a tasty morsel or two...
