The best podcasting app and service.

I've been a podcaster for years and an avid podcast listener for a while. I searched high and low for the very best podcast app and distribution service and it's Castbox.

They have a great feature set
The app and website work great
They have a huge content library
Their app allows offline listening, you can download content.

In my opinion, the best podcast app...

Absolutely appalling service from…

Absolutely appalling service from Joshua Lin. Which had infuriated me to the extent of swearing and getting frustrated with his communication and response times.

I had originally paid subscription for their wondery plus content. This service is a partnership that Castbox has with Wondery. I originally paid 4.90 (estimate) euros for the subscription, but had noticed that I only got 6 shows out of the 30 plus shows that Wondery has on their website. So I contacted Wondery about the lack of shows, which they had passed me over to Joshua Lin at Castbox. This is where the problems started...

I had repeated myself again and agian through emails to him, saying that there was content missing from my Wondery Plus subscription. To which he dind't understand. Firstly he asked me "which region are you", I said spain. So I changed to the US region, which asked me to pay for another subscription at a higher price. I went back to him saying this, and he requested screen shots, which I did. After 3 days of no response, I asked where he was. Comes back to tell me he went on vacations (an email auto response system would have helped here).

He then goes to tell me that I was using an old wondery plus subscription. So why didn't they update the subscription for my region? Why did one region have full content and mine partial? I then noticed that the price of US region subscription on their app had gone up but wondery's advertised price had been the same as the original subscription price I paid for is the same on wondery's website. so I asked why the difference? He said its because I am in spain and they apply a tax, fair enough.

I guess you are all confused now? Yep, this stuffing around and complicated explanation that Joshua had given me left me confused and not knowing what to do. False advertising of prices, changing content without advising the buyer ("hey if you pay this price, you get this content on the old version of wondery, but if you want, we have the updated version for these following regions and will cost this price).

I don't think Joshua is a master of communication and should not' be working in customer service, maybe he's better at doing something else in the company, but very appalling service from him and the company. I will buy my content directly from Wondery from now on, but never again engage in Castbox's customer service.

The best podcasting app and service. Seriously.

I've been a podcaster for years and an avid podcast listener for a while. I searched high and low for the very best podcast app and distribution service and it's Castbox.

They have a great feature set
The app and website work great
They have a huge content library

Finally, Castbox appears to be a pro-free speech platform, I have not seen any cases of them censoring or deleting content coming from diverse points of view. This is a huge problem elsewhere on the internet. For that reason alone, I signed up for Castbox premium, and I urge you to also. If you want free speech, pay for it!
