Incredibly slow shipping and items are…
Incredibly slow shipping and items are highly overvalued by the company. Only one thing I’ve ever gotten in a box was something I was excited about and the rest has been boring and nothing I couldn’t find from other fair trade companies at cheaper prices than they claim. My subscription ends in the fall and I’m not renewing. Curateur and Fabfitfun are way better in terms of quality.
I have tried to cancel my Causebox…
I have tried to cancel my Causebox three times now and they keep sending me a box. I've done it in PLENTY of time for them to not send me anything and yet I keep getting sent a box and this has been going on for a year now.
Not worth it...
I ordered my spring box at the end of February 2021 they took my money on March 1, 2021 and it is now April 28, 2021 and I have not received any shipping information. I have contacted customer service multiple times and I received the same generic email saying that they ship out in March through April well it’s almost the end of April and still have not gotten shipping notice. I have used other subscription box services and never had horrible service like this.
The items are nice but over valued
The items are nice but over valued and don't expect to recieve your items anytime soon. Being an annual member does NOT help. I think they ship those last. FabFitFun much better company
Very back policies at this company. Beware-
The products are actually pretty nice. I have liked some so much I bought more of the products at the marketplace to give as gifts throughout the year. This is the main problem. They have absolutely the worst shipping ethic of any company I've worked with. Not only do they charge your credit card at the time of your order in November....they then wait to ship those items months later....February. And they will NOT refund your money. That is already a huge mistake in my book. So if I don't like something I receive that I purchased it's like "No Backs?" lol. I'm sorry. No thank you. Subscription canceled.
Not worth the stress
I ordered cause box and fabfitfun the same day. I ordered extras from causebox as well. I received my box from fabfitfun very quickly, had a broken item and received a replacement already. Back to causebox... I received only my extra items, not the quarterly box. I was given the wrong add on item and was told I would get my original add on order shipped immediately. I just contacted them and they said they didn’t mean I would get it immediately (which is what they said in writing) but that they would process it for shipping immediately. I still have to wait at least a month to get my original items purchased. I decided the annual subscription was not worth the hassle since they can’t even replace a mistake on their end quickly. Luckily I was given a full refund quickly since my box never shipped yet (even though their website claims shipping March 1 and it’s the 3rd week of April). I am disappointed they kept my money for my add on purchase and have not shipped it yet. I would not go with this company. I’m upset because I really wanted to like it. But I cannot recommend it at all.
Causebox kills their own buzz
Ordered my winter add-on market items on February 16, 2021 and 2 months later, tracking service is still indicating they are "awaiting shipment" as is my Spring Box. While Causebox is citing Covid as the reason for delayed shipments, no other retailer I've purchased from online seems to be experiencing delays. If you choose to be in the online retail business, does it not make sense to figure out how to do it well? I have lost excitement and interest in receiving 3 seasonal boxes yet to come.
Horrible Experiences
Shipping is horrible, I did not receive my winter box until spring and now my spring box is a month late so far. I've cancelled my membership because of this but they won't give you a refund so you just have to ride out you membership that was paid for. Customer service is rude and not helpful. This company is a nightmare to work with.
100 Days and Counting 5 + months!
Use caution- I ordered my box in early December. It appeared in late January. This time was expected and while not stellar, it was not bad.
However, the marketplace order apparently got lost between the company and FedEx. I’ve received three or four pleasant assurances that the ordered items would be sent. I’ve requested a refund or a refund of the items that can’t be sourced many months later. It’s been over a hundred days since the order was placed. That turnaround is not acceptable.
I’ll change or modify this review if ANYTHING to resolve my unshipped order.
UPDATE- 144 days after the market order was placed, it arrived on my porch. Shipping was about two weeks of that.
The spiffy phone charger does not work. The tea brew bottle is quite pleasing. The waffle towels are interesting - and other items are fine.
I was glad that I persisted. The various people I corresponded with were all professional and optimistic.
Maybe it was coincidental - action started after my review here- thanks!
Be VERY careful with the fine print
I received (and was billed for) another Causebox after I cancelled. Seems that cancelling 24 days before the next shipment isn't enough. Be sure to read all the fine print.
The first box I received was nice, but only contained one of four items I would even use. The rest went to Goodwill.
Very disappointed with the cause box…
Very disappointed with the cause box and customer service. I gifted this for Xmas and as a part of their recently asked questions it stated this was easy to do and just required changing the email to the recipient. So I did this shortly after starting the service. However, the recipient still could not access the account after multiple contacts with the company and subsequently missed customization. She was also sent a defective item in the first box. The customer service replies were not helpful and basically stated they had done what I asked but clearly not since I kept receiving the emails. It has been a very frustrating experience. Fine if you are buying for yourself but gifting has been a headache.
Do Not Waste Your Money on this Scam
I ordered my first box on January 5, 2021. It was the winter box and should have contained six total items. The box didn’t arrive until March 3 and contained five items but two were damaged. So 50 % of my items were missing or damaged, really not good statistics. I contacted customer service and provided pictures of the damaged goods as requested. The company refuses to acknowledge my request for a refund and wants to send me more poor quality items. That is not acceptable and clearly a scam. Do not waste your hard earned money on this low quality service that does not meet any quality standards, nor does it have responsive customer service agents. I highly do not recommend.
Causebox is so worth the money.
Causebox has gone above and beyond to help me with the customer service issues I love the boxes I have gotten so far. Really quality Items.
I have a bad experience with shipping and never received my box
I have a bad experience with shipping as well. I ordered a box in Nov 2020 and I still have not received it yet.
Update: I contacted Fedex but apparently they shipped an EMPTY box, thats why Fedex did not process it.
Update 2: I was able to get in touch with customer service and was able to get a refund.
I HIGHLY recommend Causebox
I HIGHLY recommend Causebox! Not only are their products incredible, but they have a wonderful customer service department as well. They are very quick to respond, super helpful, and very professional.
Don't order!!!
Update:
I did receive the winter box after I posted this review. Was it worth it? That's probably a personal opinion. My opinion was No.
After complaining to Paypal (love using Paypal) Causebox refunded the spring box and accepted my subscription cancellation.
Yet another negative review, based on their customer service. I can't comment on the quality or contents of the box BECAUSE I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED IT.
I ordered the winter box. It has never come. Then they charged me for the spring box as well, but it doesn't show up in my account with them. I cancelled the subscription because I don't want them charging me again, but I'd like a refund on the cancelled box. They have NEVER responded to emails.
I have no choice but to fight it out with Paypal now to get my money back.
Customer Service is Biggest Problem
Causebox has good value for what you are getting. Shipping is notoriously slow, but it doesn't bother me that much. I am an annual member so I choose some of the box items, and that works very well for me. Every box has had some items I liked and would never have chosen. On the other hand, every box had some items that didn't work out. Overall, I felt the good items outweighed the bad. I probably would have continued with them if it wasn't for the last customer service interaction. Generally, if an item arrived broken or damaged, they were great about fixing it. The last problem (a defective item and a missing item) was beyond the pale. This is an easy customer service issue. Ship the missing item and either replace or refund the broken item. Not this time. The customer service rep only addressed shipping the missing item. Not a word on the defective. Then, I had to go back to her about the defective item. The response was not defective, give it to someone in these hard times. Yup, give away a defective item. So after an insulting response, I have to escalate to a snotty customer service manager. She never addressed the insulting, rude, and deficit language of the customer service rep. Strike 1. Strike 2: she tried to gaslight me on the defective item. After more back and forth and providing proof, she finally fixed it. Strike 3: She claimed I received correspondence that the item missing was being shipped later. Um, no, and the email she provided to gaslight me neither said that nor made sense in regard to the time frame. And the bizarre thing is after all of this hassle, she tried to spin it that my missing item happened because they were trying to make a shipping deadline they promised. Not true. They blew that deadline, but as I said earlier in the review, I don't care a lot about the late shipping. Why draw attention to the late shipping when I never mentioned it? I just want what I ordered, as expected, and a nice, empathetic customer service person to fix it if there is a problem (no one is perfect). Well, that very low bar is not something Causebox's customer service can fulfill for me. If Causebox is listening and you want to improve, please retrain your customer service manager and reps: listen to the customer, apologize when wrong, don't lie, spin, or gaslight, and just fix the problem without a million messages back and forth.
Terrible company DO NOT BUY
Terrible company DO NOT BUY. My package was a mess. They just charged me for a second box when I asked them not to and cut in to my overdraft. I have cancer a d I’m so stressed. They do no answer emails. DO NOT BUY
Nothing but problems with them. Absolute SCAM!
Nothing but problems with them! I've cancelled my subscription twice and continue being charged. There is no option to cancel on the website, so I emailed. I got a response saying that I would not be charged again, and just saw that I was charged again today. I'll be calling my bank to stop the transaction.
I've received multiple faulty items in my subscriptions. The replacements that they send arrive with the same defects. I ordered items that have never arrived. I asked for replacements and the replacements never arrived either.
Causebox is a dishonest company
Causebox is a dishonest company! I do not recommend doing business with them. They offered me a 25% off code that they claimed would be applied automatically. They also claimed that I could choose the products. They did not honor any of their claims. After I signed up for the subscription, they immediately charged me full price. I did not get to choose the products. They didn't apply the 25% discount code. Instead they CHARGED ME FOR 2 BOXES INSTEAD OF 1. Whatever is this dishonest company thinking? We are in the midst of a pandemic. They should be grateful to get a new customer. This greedy, dishonest company intentionally chose not to honor their claims and actually charged me twice. They don't deserve to stay in business.
