CBS is an industry-leading DBS check and pre-employment screening company with guaranteed quick turnaround times and free registration.
Paid £5.40 for them to do a DBS check for the DVSA. It didn't work. It couldn't take a photo of my driving licence because the hologram obscured my photo. No refund given, despite numerous emails explaining what happened. Complete rip off. Feel like I've been scammed. Avoid!
Unlike all of the other "Responsible Organisations" that I've looked at, CBS does not provide a price for an individual basic DBS check on its website. It just says £21.50 + admin fee. The admin fee could be anything, so the information given is meaningless, and I had to waste time making a phone call to find out. I was then given 2 different prices by 2 different people. I don't understand why CBS can't be open and transparent like the other organisations.
They have one of the worst user experiences in completing on online form I've ever experienced.
Where to start:
You have to fill in the same information again and again and again. For example your name (which they already have btw). I counted 12 times.
There is no indication of progress and navigation is terrible.
There is a time constraint (which you are not told about). So when looking up the exact day you moved into that house you lived in 5 years ago, it will time out and ALL progress will be lost.
Every page navigation opens a new window...why?!
Form validation is so bad, they must of done this on purpose! Sometimes this validation opens a new window and the errors are just plain wrong. e.g. one error states "you can't live in two places at the same time" But actually they want you to put the 'move in' and 'move out' dates on the same day. Very confusing!
The emails come from various address have no discerning information, requesting sensitive information. They couldn't look more suspicious if they tried.
And when it's time to renew OR if you have any issues they reset EVERYTHING, just so you have the joy of completing the form in again.
The list goes on and on.
