Beware Elveden Forest
Beware Elveden Forest! Paid £1600 for family weekend break early October. Total disaster found Venture Cove closed and Lagoon pool overcrowded, filthy and repeatedly closed too. With three little ones in our group, the Sub Tropical Paradise, the reason we paid so much, was useless. At no time were we notified in advance, we could easily moved our booking to Woburn or cancelled altogether, we had insurance. Poor, greedy show Centreparcs, and disgusting customer services.
Terrible just terrible customer…
Terrible just terrible customer service.
They are making so much money that they do not care about their customers
Horrendous booking process
If you have to force people to give names and emails for every single attendee the least you could do is make sure the website doesn't crash multiple times forcing users to have to repeat the tedious process over and over
Love it here so much
Love it here so much! This is our fifth visit… only thing I will say is the shop onsite is not only expensive but they close at 4pm on a Sunday meaning you have to go offsite if you need anything. We needed toilet roll and the staff were so friendly and dropped us some off with some clean towels as ours got so wet! Staff are very friendly. Great little holiday if you have the money! Very expensive for everything but worth it mostly.
Center Parcs has lost its charm…
I have been visiting center parcs since I was a teenager, I'm now bringing my children yearly, age 10,8 and 6. This visit (October 2025) I have to say I think it has lost its charm. It's so expensive to visit now which normally I'm happy to pay but this time the lodge was filthy, it's very run down and needs a full upgrade. It works out at £350 a night which if you paid for a hotel you would be in a luxurious hotel with lots included. You have to buy your own hand soap and dish soap. You can buy a welcome basket for £70!!! The shop where you have to purchase these things is barely stocked and expensive. The only thing included for the money you pay is the swimming, which is great but the activities for anything else are expensive and hard to book. We nearly didn't get bikes as they said we now HAVE to pre book which we have never done before and never had an issue. We arrived at 11:45 on our first day to be told there are none available, we had to get up at 7am to get to the bike rental place first thing, where there were only a few bikes left, with no discount for losing a days use. I showered at the pool every day because the bathroom at the lodge was dirty and the shower was useless, a dribble with no power at all. I think this will be our last visit.
Have visited Elvedon a few times and…
Have visited Elvedon a few times and loved it. Still loving the pool. Love the wildlife. Sadly lodge was dirty. Sink blocked. Bed smelt musty and was very uncomfortable. Site is not as well maintained as previous years. Forresters Inn food was very greasy. Hucks served cremated steak on outside and almost raw inside. Disappointing as previous years food was good.
Things to do for the grandchildren were excellent. The safety teams were on top form making sure all is good. Hoping next time can give five stars.
Sherwood, amazing service and autism friendly
I stayed at sherwood centre parcs last weekend with my 2 children and it was the best holiday we have ever had. My son has adhd and autism and it can be hard to find somewhere i can truely relax and that staff understand and be patient. Last weekend was the first time in 8 yrs i have fully relaxed on a holiday. Your staff are so understanding and advocate for those with additional needs. You couldnt of been more helpful. We will 1000% be back and are booked in for oct next year already. With a heart felt thank you, your team really are incredible
Disappointing
I have given three stars but I feel it’s quite generous. We have been visiting since 2003 but sadly this time all of us felt let down by the hike in prices. A meal for 6 plus 1 child (mains only and 1-2 drinks each non alcoholic was £220! Both restaurant bookings I made I was asked if it was a special occasion (yes it was for 2 members of the party) Both times it was ignored. Why do they bother asking? 2 couples ate out at separate restaurants their meals (mains only, 1 drink) were £72. This felt excessive to us since the holiday itself was a little short of £2k for 4 nights in the least expensive accommodation. The mattresses felt hard and the sofa uncomfortable. Was unable to charge the car as no mobile-wifi service in the car park for our reserved charge space. We ended up taking a trip out to Morrisons to get fully charged for the journey home. Second night tried to use Restaurant Runner but the app would not accept my email/password or email to reset. Resorted to phoning the contact number and after 30 minutes gave up. Guest services took an age on another occasion also. Pancake house had no black forest option which is the reason I go. Kayaking was disappointing as lake full of boats and barely any instruction given beforehand. Cabins were in a great location for swimming (102,3 and 4). Owl activity, Pony riding and archery went without a hitch. We cancelled Quadding and got the 50% refund as promised. I must admit, overall, I’m very disappointed this time and wont return.
£4000 three night break
£4000 three night break. Unable to manage or book anything on line. Very poor start - and the holiday hasn't even started yet :(
It’s lovely to be in the woodland…
It’s lovely to be in the woodland environment with very little traffic and facilities on hand to cater for all preferences and ages. However there are issues. The cost is not great but worth it for the experience it when we stayed there were things not available such as the hydro pool in the spa and the bigger pool in the swimming area yet we had to pay the same price as if these things were available. The cleanliness of the lodge was poor especially given the price. The bath plugs were clogged with hair, the rooms were not dusted, the dining table chairs had spilt milk or yoghurt on them and the oven trays were covered in fat and grease . Also whilst were there some construction work was going on and it was very noisy early on the Saturday morning.
On the positive side the staff are very helpful and friendly.
We would return but really hope that the lazy care of the lodges improves.
Disgracefull
Disgracefull. Split up with partner and went to cancel 2.5 months in advance only to be told the £600 deposit was non refundable. Talk about daylighy robbery. I mean if they took £50 for the inconvienience I get it but 600 quid isnt small change. Im surprised they can even get away with this. Will never use them again as a matter or principle and anyone who plans on using them ill be the first to make up a load of nonsence about how dirty the place was. Scumbags.
0 stars
If I could rate 0 stars I would. Customer service is none existent, the chat either disconnects or isn’t available, the calls do not get answered, and in 2 weeks I’ve had 2 replies on Facebook, which is where they direct you to for help, for 9 days I’ve been ignored and sent the instant response of “we aim to respond in 48 hours” which is clearly just a blatant lie! If this is the level of customer service before a break, I would hate to see it whilst there. As a family who travel a lot, and enjoy uk breaks, we will be sure to stick with what we know in future. Very disappointing!
Property left in villa never found or returned
In the rush to vacate the villa with 2 young children we accidentally left our cycle helmets and pump in the boiler room, I phoned lost property the afternoon we got home stating out villa number and description of the items. I have called 3 more times the following 2 weeks, but they have been unable to locate them! Staff unhelpful and didn’t seem concerned about the disappearance.
They said they have to deal with a lot of lost property so it would be nice if they had a better system in place, maybe to have the lost items bagged with the Villa number, then dropped off by the cleaning staff, and then lost property staff could contact the guests
Insane penny pinching
We were told we could only use two of our four arrows on one of the field archery targets because "the park wanted to make the target last". Absolutely unreal penny pinching from Centerparcs this year. Definitely considering alternative options for our next group holiday, the value for money has tanked lately.
Normally a huge Center Parcs fan but…
Normally a huge Center Parcs fan but this time it’s been a bit lacking . Here with son with special needs it’s usually great as it’s predictable for him . First trip to outdoor pool and it was uncomfortable as it was so hot , hotter than I would have a bath , it was then closed next time we went a day later . A third of the water park is closed for refurbishment , very noisy so had to come out as my son couldn’t stand sound of drilling . Small things like the Costume spinner didn’t work . Also made it very busy in other areas . Working on the roof in main atrium so lots of work men about . A bit of staff autism training wouldn’t go amiss either in the shops , lady on till stood there looking my son up and down , a second trio lady ignored him completely when he asked a question and a lady in Parc market acted like he was invisible . It’s took the shine off a place we can normally rely on for being consistent and friendly . Maybe we caught it on a bad week but it’s not reflected in the price 🫤
Freezing pool 21c
Center parks has become a expensive joke they delete any honest negative posts on there social media there penny pinching has become ridiculous it's all about max profits and zero customer satisfaction 🙄 the pool at elveden is freezing 21c it states online 29.5c life guard stated the lady manager has turned the temperature down to 21c to save money but has also turned the power down on the rapids and wave machine to save money while customers can't stand more than 1 hour in there before shivering and needing to get out so we have now cancelled are next break to elveden and have booked with forest Holidays!!!
We had a lovely time as a group of 4…
We had a lovely time as a group of 4 young girls looking for a weekend away. We did experience some disgusting behaviour from some boys in the pool with inappropriate comments and actions. We reported the behaviour at around 6:40. By the time we had got changed they had the pool manager ready to take a statement and by 7:20 we’d spoken to them and they’d reassured us they’d try their best to get it sorted and offered us a lift back to our lodge. Received a call at 8:55 from Helin the duty village manager saying they had removed the boys from the site and if we have any issues we can call her to get it sorted. We can’t thank the staff and lifeguards enough for sorting it as quickly as they did and we can now relax knowing this won’t happen to any other young girls. Thank you so much!
dreadful telephone response
I phoned Elvedene park with an enquiry regarding wheelchair accessible lodges. The lady was very helpful but due to the nature of my booking was told to ring head office to make the booking.
I did as instructed but after enduring 22 minutes of awful music whilst waiting for someone to speak gave up on the idea of booking a £3999 holiday for my disabled children.
Surely there should be a facility whereby you can hang up and someone will call you back!
We needed to amend our booking because…
We needed to amend our booking because of family circumstances and they wanted £250 just to move date!! We were prepared to upgrade and pay more but the admin fee was ridiculous!!!
Loved our visit to Elveden
Loved our visit to Elveden. The facilities and staff were great. So many activities to be involved in and we liked pottery painting particularly.
Even though there were so many people holidaying in the park, it was a relaxing experience.
The staff really looked after my group, consisting of older ones and those with disabilities. Everyone said how much they enjoyed it and wanted to return.
We had one issue with an oven not working but guest services sorted it out within the hour.
Can’t understand the negative comments on here as the reason we went to Centre Parcs in the first place was because multiple friends and neighbours of ours had been and had all said how great it was there. We can only agree with them and can’t wait to return!
