Fell for take free IQ test then money starts coming out of my checking account monthly. Cancelled. Then money started coming out of my PayPal line of credit monthly. Asked for refund from PayPal and they gave refund then they came back and said my dispute not valid because I authorized monthly charges and am using Cerebrum services - I do not use their services and never authorized them to leech money first from my checking account and now my PayPal account. I can’t get it to stop either from Cerebrum or PayPal. Horrible experience - many days on phone and emails and no one will help -

I took what was advertised as a free IQ test on MYIQ and ended up being charged $48.99 without clearly consenting to any subscription.

There was no obvious or transparent point where I agreed to a paid service. It felt like a typical “free test” flow, and only afterwards did I realise I’d been signed up and charged.

When I contacted support, they refused to refund me and just pointed to their “no refund policy,” which doesn’t change the fact that the payment was not properly disclosed in the first place.

After this happened, I looked online and saw multiple people reporting the exact same issue, which honestly says a lot.

This whole experience feels misleading and intentionally unclear. I would strongly recommend being very careful before using this site, especially if something is advertised as “free.”

I’ve now had to escalate this further.

Update- you have all of my information stop lying pretending like you are trying to assist me with a refund. Give me the refund i deserve and i will stop the legal action currently being taken against you.

I agreed to pay $1 to get my test results from your website. Not only did I not receive my score, I was immediately charged $29.99, without my consent. I have attempted to cancel my subscription that I never agreed to, but was given a "email does not exist" error message, so that I'm prevented from canceling and will be charged without my consent AGAIN. I will be contacting the FBI, the Federal Trade Commission, and the BBB. I also will post my story on every social media account I have and tell all my friends and family to stay away from this scam site. I am demanding my money back. I agreed to the $1 free trial 6 days ago, but the charge was $29.99 immediately. Your policy is a legal document that clearly states a $1 charge is the ONLY charge for 7 days. You breached your own contract. That's a lawsuit against your company right there! If I could give negative stars, it would be negative infinity!

This was a terrible experience. I had no idea I was going to be charged 29.99 per month until I sat down to do my taxes. I am a senior citizen and have a limited income. I am sad to see companies take advantage of those who think they are using a one time service. NEVER AGAIN would I even consider using them. I WANT A REFUND.

This company is a mother company to MYIQ, which is a scam company. I woke up to a 32.96 charge. I didn’t agree to a subscription. Their offer said nothing about a trial period. I agreed to a test bc it was affordable (99 cents) They have you pay $0.99 to get your IQ score. They send an email with your results but they also give you your results on the screen. So what’s the point of going to the email if they’re available to me on screen, right? That’s how they get you, they email is where the hidden fees are. I tried reaching out to the company and I’ve yet to receive a response. They have no CSR number. Their parent company is CerebrumIQ! I was going to reach out to them but of course I cannot find an email or telephone number. Do not work with these people they will scam you.!

MYIQ is part of this group and engages in misleading practices. They charge customers without clearly explaining that a recurring monthly fee applies. In my case, I was charged £24.99 per month when I believed I was only paying £1 for a single MYIQ test result. I’ve also seen numerous reports on social media from others who experienced similar issues, with some being charged £29.99 monthly. Avoid! Scammers!

Misleading .

The Facebook page is so wrong and misleading because it does not make it clear that there is a monthly fee.

So if you do the questions you get to a screen that tells you for 50p or £1 you can get your IQ report. If you don't pay and forget about it they bombard you with emails. Just 1 big scam

I am extremely disappointed with the lack of ethical billing standards at myiq.com (a Cerebrum company). My minor child was recently enrolled in a subscription service without my knowledge or authorization.

I contacted the company the same day the charge appeared to request a refund, citing that a minor cannot legally enter into a binding financial agreement. Management refused to honor this request or refund the $30.00 fee. I would advise other parents to exercise extreme caution when dealing with this organization’s platforms.

Since writing a scathing review about how money was taken without consent or collaboration i have had one payment refunded but still await the 2nd to be refunded. Seemingly there are some humans that work for the business and not just BOTs. I will see if the communication continues and will report back positively once my issues have been resolved.

I wish I had looked at these reviews before handing over my card details. What I thought was a one-off IQ test ended up costing my family over $730 across 12 months.

I never received a single email, receipt, or notification from Cerebrum IQ — not one. No confirmation of charges, no subscription reminders, nothing. The only reason I found out how much had been taken was because I sat down and went through a full year of my own bank statements. I had no idea this was even happening.

The subscription was never clearly explained to me at the time of signing up. I genuinely believed I was paying once to see my results. Had I received even one email telling me I was being charged monthly, I would have cancelled immediately.

I'm now disputing the charges with my bank and have reported this to the ACCC. I really hope Cerebrum IQ does the right thing here — but based on what I've read from other Australians in the same situation, I'm not holding my breath.

Please do your research before signing up.

Stay away from this company - they advertise on Facebook as MyIQ for $1.00, take your dollar and then bill you a monthly subscription and have zero interest in refunding your money...cheats, stay away!!!!

Fraudulent company. Give you a code to 'help find your account' and then state they have a no refund policy and can't locate your account. Thieves and fraudulent

Vile company, trick you into subscribing at £30 per month after you pay £1 for your test result. No email to confirm you have subscribed, not even an email to confirm the subscription payment (that you weren't aware of) coming out. They rely on the fact people don't check their bank statements. They just rely on the small print to avoid giving refunds. Absolute parasites. They should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves, lowest of the low.

I want to share my experience with Cerebrum IQ.

Although they agreed to refund my money, the refund has not yet been paid. Despite my attempts to resolve the issue, I am still waiting to receive it.

What is even more concerning is that, even after cancelling my subscription, they continue to charge me month after month — sometimes even multiple times within the same month.

This behavior is completely unacceptable and highly unprofessional.

They have somehow taken payments of £29.99 two months in a row and I have sent numerous messages to say I want a refund and have not signed up to this subscription. They can't find my details. So will be reporting them today. Stay well clear

I did a IQ test with My IQ which is a branch of this company. I agreed to the 99 cent to reveal the results.
Seven days later they took 29.99 from my bank.
I DID NOT sign up to a subscription.
I am disabled and live on as low income so this was a huge shock.

SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM. DO NOT ENGAGE WITH THIS COMPANY OR MY IQ.COM ON SOCIAL MEDIA! THEY WILL FRAUDULENTLY WITHDRAW MONEY FROM YOUR ACCOUNT AND ISSUE NO REFUND.
You will get a response on here with a reference number and an endless amount of scripted emails from a bot claiming they have issued a refund and there's a problem with your bank. They will promise to resolve it and will continue with the scripted emails and will not issue a refund. DO NOT ENGAGE WITH THEM ON SOCIAL MEDIA. I HAVE POSTED EVERYWHERE I CAN TO MAKE PEOPLE AWARE AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO. THEY ARE STEALING MONEY FROM PEOPLE. BLOCK THEM IMMEDIATELY AND INFORM YOUR BANK AS THEY WILL CONTINUE TO FRAUDULENTLY WITHDRAW MONEY FROM YOUR ACCOUNT.

As you can see from their response, it is a bot reply with another reference number and a promise of a refund. THIS LEADS TO AN ENDLESS AMOINT OF SCRIPTED EMAILS WITH NO REFUND IN SIGHT. DO NOT ENGAGE WITH THEIR SITES AT ALL AND DO NOT TRUST ANY POSITIVE REVIEW.
