I am extremely disappointed with my experience. I was led to believe I was paying a one-time nominal fee for an IQ report, but instead, I was enrolled in a hidden subscription without my clear consent and charged $44.99.
As a Canadian consumer, I am protected against these types of deceptive "negative option" billing practices. I have already contacted my bank to dispute the charge and am filing reports with the Competition Bureau of Canada and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (CAFC).
I am demanding an immediate and full refund of $44.99 and for my account to be permanently closed. I will update this review once a full refund has been issued to my original payment method.

Use Myiq their daughter company Couldn’t deny subscription as both options put you on it and then couldn’t cancel it. Got scammed out of 59.98 recurring payments. Do not buy anything or they will charge you an insane payment you didn’t want or cancelled and their customer service is just a bot who won’t help you at all
Update – Feb 24: I have received the refund but still firmly believe you should view other reviews of this company online as it is still known for scams

Refuse to let me log back in so I can cancel my subscription on myiq it’s daughter company, terrible app do not use

I agreed to .50 cent charge they charged me for this no big deal but then they charged me 29.99 for a subscription, which I NEVER agreed to I am going to report them if they do not refund ASAP

Wonderful service, very easy to organize, and I appreciated the constant updates.

I have been charged $19.99 multiple times for a subscription I never signed up for.
I contacted customer support and provided all requested information, including email addresses, PayPal details, and partial card digits. The company claims they cannot locate any subscription tied to my information, yet the charges continue.
I have no billing agreement with this company and did not authorize these payments. Since they are unable to identify or cancel the supposed subscription, I have escalated the matter to PayPal and my bank as unauthorized transactions.
I would appreciate a prompt resolution and refund.

*** SCAM ALERT ...I, like many people have, went online and took the I Q test for a 7 day free trial. I have tried numerous times to cancel the UNAUTHORIZED charges through my pay pal account and to receive a refund for these unauthorized charges and what I consider a blatant SCAM. It is virtually impossible to contact them as it is a continuous cycle of repetitive foolishness. *** SCAM ALERT ****

The customer service is terrible. Your interacting AI only. There is no way to contact them. Phone number not available. This company should be taken to court. THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE SCAM. Save your money and eliminate future aggravation.

This company stole my last 30$ for a subscription I didn’t sign up for. I paid for a report for 50 cents and immediately cancelled my subscription. I even locked my debit card. Today I got charged 30$. This is unacceptable and this company steals even when you cancel their subscription.

Cerebrum charged me £510.66 between June 11th 2025 and February 12th 2026 they, “deceptively”, subscribed me to unwanted, unrequested, subscription services without my knowledge & consent. Services I can ill afford. Services I have never been aware of. Services I have no use for & have never accessed or used. The only “product” I agreed to purchase from Cerebrum, June 2025, was a,“no obligation” online, IQ test for a “one off” fee of ($1), for which two $0.50 payments were charged to my Halifax Master Card account, 11/6/25. This “one off” product was never framed as a “Trial”, nor a precursor to further subscription services.
If I had known such I would never have purchased and paid for, the online Cerebrum IQ test. At no stage during the $1 IQ Test purchase was I provided with information of additional “subscription services”. I was never offered additional subscription “packages”. I was never provided with options or “choices” or “prices” nor further details of any kind. I was completely unaware of any such subscription account services up until 12/2/25, the moment I discovered Cerebrum have been making unsolicited charges to my account. As advised, I have contacted Cerebrum several times (see details below) and it is abundantly clear that they are applying an automate “Bot” response that is simply stalling in the hope I will cease and just go away.
The crux of this is the fact I have been, “deliberately” and “clandestinely” charged for services I have never wanted, never requested, never accessed or used nor knowingly agreed to, by an unscrupulous business. I will be reclaiming these charges via my credit card provider and or commencing legal proceedings against Cerebrum. I strongly urge ANYONE to avoid! UPDATE 14/2/2026 - Just MINUTES after this review went live I received an email form 'Alex' Cerebrum IQ Customer Success Manager. The first none Auto 'Bot' communication from Cerebrum so far? Not a coincidence? Alex assured me that my issues would be resolved quickly and he would attend to this. He was very keen to emphasise 'I' might consider 'editing' my review to reflect any positive response. I replied and agreed to editing once ALL issues had been, promptly and amicably resolved. We then entered the weekend. Sure enough I did receive some refunds However, Cerebrum calculated 20 refunds due/agreed and I and my bank Halifax/Lloyds via Mastercard had calculated 32 contested and 2 smaller charges not disputed. I have pointed this out but have since been transferred back to a Automated 'Bot' that regurgitates a standard stock answer to my 'Specific Questions' with tiny adjustments each time? This is despite my directly requesting a 'human' response, as previously with 'Alex', Cerebrum Manager. They keep stating the word 'frustrating'! They are not kidding! One of my 'latest' emails states - 'We seem to be going around and around in automated circles? You are telling me you will/are happy to assist me with 'specific transactions' but when I request such you reply exactly the same, each time, ignoring my 'specific requests'? I cannot understand the problem? You have agreed/stated you will refund 'ALL CHARGES'
Yours (Cerebrum) and my records both agree? They show weekly charges that my bank statements support, presumably the same as your records/receipts, 34 charges? I am asking you to specifically look at the 12 missing charge refunds? As your (20) refunds do not provide specific dates attached to the 20 refunds it is impossible for me to ascertain which of the 20 from 32 have and have not been refunded so far? Therefore I am specifically asking you to send me a list of refunds and the payment dates they are related to? I have been charged £14.99 (GBP) every 7 days from 11/6/2025 up until 14/2/2026 (32 charges). My bank (Halifax/Lloyds) testifies to each payment.
Basic maths tells us that this is more than 20 charges? 8 x 4 x £14.99 (=32 charges).
I was also charged 2 x £0.50 11/6/2025 for the $1 Cerebrum IQ test which I do not dispute.
I would really appreciate a specific answer to this specific question please? To Be Continued? I will Keep you posted!!!

CerebrumIQ. MyIQ. This company is a SCAM. They off a 99cent U.Q. test, then later there's a hidden subscription for 24.99.
I took a test for 99 cents then a weekly term get a message that my bank account is being charged 24.99 for a subscription that I was unaware of. I am actively working to obtain a refund as I have no desire forever any I.Q. subscription that I did not have any prior knowledge of.

Total rip-off. Cancelled my subscription in July of 2025, still taking money out of my account until December 2025. Emailed the helpdesk email address AVE been fobbed off for nearly two months claiming the refund would take 3-7 Business Days. Very poor customer support and clearly a scam to retain hundreds of pounds of my money.

I originally appreciated being able to receive my results for one dollar but it’s an absolute scam! They deceive you into thinking you’re only paying a dollar and then charging you 30 a few days later! Absolutely would never recommend this to anybody

I signed up online where it was supposed to be a $1 charge for the service and the page immediately refreshed so I couldn't use their services even for a brief second. Next thing I know they charged me hundreds of euros throughout months and months and when I reached out to the Cerebrum support, they said SORRY NOTHING WE CAN DO. It's a poor scam and taking advantage of people who are not tech savvy.

I understand that Cerebrum is the parent company of the website MyIQ. This site and, therefore, Cerebrum are scams. On 2-2-26 I paid 1.00 for an online IQ test in two .50 charges. The test was advertised as costing 1.00 with no extra fees. Today, 2-9-26, I find on my card a charge for 29.99 from MyIQ (ref. number 009888) that I did not request. Beware of this site and of any site affiliated with Cerebrum!

A complete scam do not use they have been taking £30 out of my account for nearly 2 years over a £1 test. As well as that the customer service have just repeatedly sent the same message response to every email I have sent. Claiming it is in there terms and condition yet they have offered everyone else who has complained here a refund. I want my refund or legal action will be taken to this clear and obvious scam.

13th complaint reply from this firm - DO NOT USE them. “Hi John, I understand how frustrating this ongoing refund delay must be. To clarify, your subscription was cancelled on August 28, 2024, and we processed a refund of £29.99 on January 6, 2026. While this refund should have appeared by now, banking processes can sometimes cause delays. The second £29.99 charge is still under review for refund, and I am monitoring it closely to ensure it is resolved as soon as possible. I'm here to support you fully through this and appreciate your patience.
