I purchased a 61800 Backpack Sprayer and the "PLASTIC CLIP" at the end of the shoulder strap predictably broke. The shoulder strap could tow a car and the plastic clip is the weak link in the design. Th sprayer was kept indoors and was not subject to UV rays that may have been detrimental to the plastic clip over the course of time. I called Chapin customer support and they said they would not supply me with a new strap and or clip. They said I would have to purchase another one. This sprayer holds 15 liters of fluid or 3.96 gallons that weighs 35 pounds. The design is obviously flawed and or a designed failure so my neighbors and I will purchase another one. CHAPIN DOES NOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT AND OR CUSTOMERS .........

Purchase a hose end sprayer and I've had some in the past, this one was used about 15-20 times in the last year taking really good care of it after each use The valve started sticking I've reached out to Chapin to ask about warranty and nothing in reply. I wish I saw all the negative reviews earlier but they used to be a good company now they did not even answer the phone or emails

Well for a number of years I just kept it in my garage since I had a contract on my house for treatment.
After we sold our home I made a decision to save money and I was going to do the treatment myself with very good product, so I put to work my brand new Chapin spraying pump !
Well less than a year total garbage!!!

Chapin is putting out there this GARBAGE just to SELL parts down the road.

Please people.....do not...do not buy their backpack sprayer. Instead of doing that, just take your $150+ and give it away.
Model 60124 4 gal 20V battery backpack sprayer. Four months in had to replace the hose as it burst spraying grass killer all over me. Charger stopped working...unable to charge unit. Then the internal battery stopped holding a charge (this is after four months of use 1 or 2 days a month and then sitting in my basement over the winter).
I contacted Chapin for troubleshooting, was told because it is a base model.....no battery replacement is available...what! Do not buy.

I purchased a 5 gal sprayer, and i didn't keep the receipt. That is my fault.
However the pump didn't work and i was sent a part which still didn't fix the problem. After following the video's and other suggestions the customer service rep suggested it still didn't solve the problem.
Today i asked if they had a plan B and they told me to "purchase" a whole new pump fitting for a pump that was never used and i only owned for less than a month.
I paid more and got less with Chapin

I'm not familiar with their other products, but I purchased a model 61800 a year ago. I only used Crossbow to spray blackberries. This year I went to use the unit, and when I removed the lid, the seal was so expanded, that it no longer fit the tank. I checked with Chapin,and a new seal was 3/4 the cost of the sprayer! I'm done. It's going to the dump.

Chapin model 63924 battery pack 4 gallon sprayer stoped working after very little use and since it is out of warranty the won’t have me with a new pump, I cleaned and rinsed it after each use. You would think that they would help with parts but they said it was out of warranty ☹️ A very disappointed ☹️

Order a sprayer part, they sent the wrong item…twice…I returned the item, and had all the tracking information…waited for a refund…and waited…for weeks…so I eventually called to check on my refund and I waited….and waited…on hold…on different days…and got bounced back and forth from customer service to accounting…accounting department doesn’t answer their phone…FINALLY had to get PayPal involved, and of course, they found in my favor because I return an item Chapin refused to refund me for…

I bought sprayer model 1380 a couple of years ago and the pump stopped working. The place I bought it from did not have the pump available. I contacted chapinmfg.com first, tried to use their chat, but their chat is not used or monitored. I just got a message saying they will contact me. I then called, waited on hold, and then was told the part number.
I asked how to find the part number on their website, the person I spoke with checked and it was not on their website and transferred me to make the order over the phone. I told the person the part number and they could not find it and they asked me for the model number. They did not have the part available and offered to sell me the whole unit.
I believe that their lack of service, and lack of having a part is deliberate on their part to force their customer to purchase a new item. I only use it to spray my garden, was tired of getting sprayers that did not last and paid extra to buy a well-made product.
Very disappointed and I recommend finding a company that will stand behind their products and not just take advantage of you. The only difference between the unit I bought and the new ones is the hole size for the pump. Seems to be their way changing in order to force customer to buy new.

What a nightmare trying to get the warranty honored.
They couldn’t find my order, couldn’t find my address or email.
Said the 30 day warranty started the day they shipped not the week later I received the part.
Tried to blame me for using chemicals and not lubricating the pump I used only 5 times!
Horrible customer service.

I bought this sprayer a year ago, paid $30 for it,the most I've ever paid for a round up sprayer..& have regretted it almost from day one.
it is the worst I've ever had & I've had a lot of them in 35 years of living in the country.
the s[pray heads don't work right,it wont hold pressure, trying to change those spray head parts is a nightmare.
I am ready to throw it away & get yet another cheap one, at least they work for a year or 2 which is more than I can say about this one..for all the good a review is going to do, looks like there are plenty of others before mine.
A Very Dissatisfied Customer

Yesterday I called Customer Service and left my name and number with the promise that I would not lose my place in queue. I didn't get a call back. This morning I called again and held about 20 minutes and went from being 8th in queue to 2nd in queue, but at that point I had to hang up so I once again left my name and number. 8 hours later and I haven't received a call back.

Have been trying to order a replacement pump for over a week... Number 10 in que on the phone that never changes, and have sent multiple on-line Chats and they never respond via email as they state in the chat because everyone is busy. Either they have thousands of problems with their products, or there is only one employee answering Chats and the phone for less than 8 hours a day! The message says due to COVID! Get a grip - COVID is over!

I’ve bought in multiple pump sprayers and have had an issue with 12 of them. I was able to provide proof of purchase and everything else needed to submit a warranty request. They thought sending me O-rings would fix the issue for all of the faults in these pump up sprayer and we’re not able to provide replacements like the warranty states. Major waste of time and money. Nobody should be dealing with this company. They are not up to their own terms.

This sprayer has a major design flaw. The pump handle is not accessible when it is on your back. The handle is not properly oriented. You have to take it off to pump it up. O have had previous backpack sprayers and the pump handle was always accessible
Once it is pumped it works very weal.
Because of that I do not recommend this sprayer.

It's hard to take this company seriously when most aspects of it seem like a joke. The pay is laughable, even though you'll have to work long hours. Basically, most employees are overworked. Also, management will assign you tasks that weren't in the job description. Management support is also laughable because it's almost non-existent. I don't recommend working for this ridiculous company.

I was put on hold by their customer support team and when they finally answered my question, they did not provide enough info and quickly brushed me off. I cannot imagine this kind of reaction for another customer.

The customer service is not up-to standard, they are too slow and this is a total waste of time. I do not recommend them.
