The artwork you received is 100% handmade, original charcoal painting, created entirely by a human artist on canson fine-art paper. It's not printed in any form. The piece is created using charcoal powder and a dry brushwork technique, a traditional method often referred to as charcoal painting.
There is no printing process involved at any stage. In fact, there are no printers in existence that can print using charcoal powder. Every stroke, tonal variation, and texture is applied manually by the artist.
If you look closely, you may notice slight variations in proportions, softness, or color compared to the original photograph. These natural imperfections are actually one of the clearest indicators of a genuine handmade artwork. Machine prints, by contrast, appear mechanically perfect and uniform.
If you wish to further verify the medium, you may gently test a very small corner of the artwork. Even though the drawing is sealed with a professional fixative, you should be able to detect loose charcoal beneath, with no printed layer underneath. That said, please note that CharcoalAndPencil cannot be responsible for any damage caused by erasing or testing. Alternatively, you may have the artwork examined by any local art professional or gallery for independent verification.

I absolutely love the charcoal portrait that was ordered for my husband. I asked them to capture my husband and his dogs true spirit and they did!! It was beautifully done! And they were amazingly fast. I gave them a deadline that I wanted it done and even though it was a very short deadline and they made no promises they came through for me to have it by Christmas!! I would definitely recommend them!! They very communicative throughout the process and made it practically seamless! It was well worth the price!!

Excellent Experience | Perfect Gift
I had a fantastic experience with Charcoal and Pencil. I contacted them to commission a piece of work for a Christmas gift.
The process of submitting the artwork for review was seamless, and within 24 hours, I was contacted about my request. The team made some suggestions based on my original request, and they were very transparent about why the suggestions were made. I was also very clearly informed of the cost adjustment based on my approval of the changes.
They were very communicative throughout the process and kept me informed on the status of my project, and provided me with the opportunity to review the piece before it was packaged and shipped.
The drawing came out great and the person who received it loved the final product. Without hesitation, I would use them again in the future.

Uploaded couple photos to blend together in a large charcoal print. Person worked with made entire process easy. Got the work as scheduled on time with pre framed. Had to wait to open since it was a gift. The print captured everything perfectly and the person was stunned at quality. Would recommend and will use again in future.

I had a amazing experience working with the company Charcoalandpencil, they were verey professional and kept me informed on how the two Drawings were going. And shipped them on time i
I was looking for a company like Charcoalandpencil to draw me a couple pictures from photos for a experiment I was doing for a class I was taking. "It was not a art class it was something for a different class I was involved with" I was having a very hard time finding someone or a company that supposedly did that kind of project. Then when I found charcoalandpencil I was so thankful, they contacted me back right away and when I explained what I needed and was doing, they told me that it was no problem for them, and they did the two Drawings from my photos that I needed for my project. After they gave me the very fair price we went foward with the Drawings. They kept in contact with me on where they were with the drawing and when they should be done, and while they were doing them they also asked if there was any thing else I needed, and if I had any other requests or changes thay I might want them to do, which I found very professional. When I received the Drawings back before the due date, I was so impressed with the work there artist did a very, very happy. They then reached out again and asked me if I received what they promised they could do for me. Charcoalandpencil is a outstanding and very professional company to work with which is hard to find these day's, so anyone who is looking for any drawings done the way they want them and has any special request like I did, you won't find a better company to do business with then the Charcoalandpencil company. Great communication and amazing pencil…
Great communication and amazing pencil portrait. I was shocked at how well it was drawn and how closely it matched the picture I sent of my wife and our dog. My wife loved it and it is hanging in our house. The paper was slightly larger than the size listed, so I had to do a very small amount of cutting to get it to fit in the frame I purchased, but that was easy.
