Launched in 2010 in the North East of England, CYC is now being expanded in to a national network. There are over 2,000 free-to-use or pay-to-use charge points already connected, with more being added every month. For EV drivers, CYC makes it simple...

The ‘how not-to’ standard of EV charging
The company appear to operate numerous vehicle charge points, I used one in Nottingham - is wasn’t straightforward but I did, after multiple attempts; eventually find a charger that would charge my vehicle.
At the end of the charge a thought I would have to abandon by tethered cable as it wouldn’t unlock. Again, eventually it unlocked and I went on on my way.
I have never been billed for the charge despite providing all the necessary details and now receive monthly emails informing me that a requested payment has failed. Any attempt I have made to contact the company via email, web contact form or telephone have failed.
Goodness knows what will happen next time I try to use one of these chargers - I can only hope I never need to.
Would rate lower if I could,
Would rate lower if I could, probably the worst car charging service by a long way. Firstly if you find a working CYC, you then have to use a very undeveloped unreliable app that doesn't work. If you opt for the RFID option, don't expect it to arrive anytime this year. (I'm still waiting after 6 weeks, if it does arrive I will probably use it to scrape the dirt of my shoes as that's all it will probably be good for)
If you are lucky enough to get your call answered, you can waste 40 to 50mins of your life and get no where and more importantly still not get your vehicle charged.
The irony of the company calling themselves "Charge your Car" when after 5 times trying to use the service across London and Nottingham, I have not once successfully got a single % charge. If your search for EV chargers suggest ChargeYourCar, drive on and don't waste your time or energy getting frustrated with this useless ironic company.
This company is really hurting the adoption of EV by being as rubbish and unreliable as they have been through my experiences.
Companies that are looking for a company to provide EV charging for your sites, please go with someone else other than Charge your Car.
Absolutely awful
Absolutely awful - do not go near it! Only two leads working and they charged 1% then produced a fault. Helpline not answered - amazing that this firm still trades. Registration crashed also with software faults. The one I used was in Hunstanton Norfolk will now be sure to avoid at all costs.
Every time I use CYC/BP Pulse there is an issue
Every time I use CYC there is an issue. 1- WITH THE CHARGEPOINT 2) with how to pay. I have to phone and wait and wait. Then give you no option but to pay via Direct Debit, which I have now cancelled. Tried mailing. No response. On the phone waiting for 40 minutes then deliberately cut off. Then on the phone for 25 minutes, got an operative who promptly cut me off after 1 min 30 seconds. They are operated by BP Pulse...also rubbish. Geniepoint are brilliant and so are various places in London....but BP Pulse and CYC awful awful customer service. Only use them if absolutely desperate!
Appalling service.
Appalling service.
Recently had to use one of Charge Your Car's chargers, so I installed the App.
The option to register a payment card is out dated so you cannot add a card issued after 2019!
It took 5 attempts to get it to charge the car.
After a few days they emailed to say they had failed to take payment due to an error between them and my bank but gave no other option to pay.
You cannot add a payment card on the website!
I emailed the customer services department to follow this up and got a deliver failure notice!
Unbelievably poor service, I will not be using or recommending them unless there is no other option.
Have waited a month for my RF card
Have waited a month for my RF card, which I ordered because it is not possible to use the app alone and i will need the network going to Northumberland. The e mail contact does not work. To ring customer services you have to ring at 4:00 am. A very helpful and concerned person will then agree that something has gone wrong and promise to contact their supervisor. Nothing happens.
Bad review resulted in my account being blacklisted
Has anyone else had their account blacklisted for giving bad reviews?
Appalling service, appalling network.
Signed up, was told to use App by call handler. App did not work.
Call handler told me to order RFIS Card, it arrived, didn't work or rather on a couple of chargers, could plug in but no juice on the other dozen or so locally, nothing happens.
Call handlers invariably cannot help as units faulty or not accessible to them.
Only other contact is their email and no response.
Unfortunately as they run the main network in Scotland, looks like diesel is the way to go.
One EV driver I met tells me they only use their lucury EV csr for lical runs and have bought a diesel for the longer runs.
Long live EV!
Worst company i have ever experienced…
Worst company i have ever experienced total sham, telephone them if you’ve got 40 min to wait and get nothing resolved pass the buck from accounts to admin to accounts . Just a joke why BP have an affiliation to them is totally detrimental to them.
Terrible service.
Spent £20 online to get an RFID card to use a charger (which only accepts payment via their card, no app payment possible!) Weeks later no card in the mail. Have used several charger companies across London, this is definitely the worst.
Waited for 40 minutes for a customer…
Waited for 40 minutes for a customer operative to help with a charge. No answer. Absolutely terrible service. What choice do we have but use these chargers as so few around?
This company is now part of BP charge…
This company is now part of BP charge master.
I needed a card that worked as I will be soon travelling to Scotland. I have phoned the company five times to try and get a card that works.
It still does not work.
BP shame on you!
absolute mess of a company
tried to call number on unit to pay on card, number not in service. customer service said they were "not aware of that number" even though its printed on the unit and on the screen on the unit. then they told me the unit has a fault, which didn't appear anywhere on the unit. total. waste of time.
2nd unit a few days later, tried phoning to pay for a charge and he told me that's not possible. I'd have to register online then download the app and add a payment method and then charge the car. making it real easy for customers. downloaded the app and entered location number and it said "not found"
if you're going to start a company that people might need to rely on you might want to create a system that works.
appalling
