Chatway Live Chat for my small business was fairly easy to setup. There was a small hiccup with using the app on my iPhone but Chatway has terrific Customer Service and the representatives were able to help me fix the problem and get the app working on my phone. I’m excited to use this new live chat feature to connect instantly with my customers on my business website.

Super easy to integrate and use to keep in touch with customers and answer questions. Great option with the addition of an IOS app to keep customers satisfied on the go wherever you are. The helpdesk always seems to be active if you ever have an issue with the service and is very nice.

One huge oversight
One huge oversight. There is no user authentication with this chat widget, only on Shopify. How? That’s probably the most important thing for any product out there to know if they are getting a repeat customer messaging them.
Right now the product doesn’t recognize that who is messaging, so if your customer messages from mobile, tablet, or web, the chat widget will think it’s a completely different user and send a new message/ticket to your support staff creating completely more work and confusion for the staff.
I have asked them about this for Wordpress a couple times and they literally have told me they have no timeframe on when they will add this. 🤔
Well it is a couple months later and they have added other updates like the ability to “end a chat”. But not something as important as identifying and authenticating your user.
Am I missing something in how this is of such low importance to them and how they are willing to tell me things about this that are untrue.
I have a software company, I know authentication does not take months.
I even asked them if I could have my team build it for me and they said they will not condone it. I understand that part though.
I want to use them because I love their user interface. But the part where I feel like they are lying to me just rubs me the wrong way and prompted this review.

This app has been working well for me as a website live chat option that comes directly to my android device. I have also integrated my facebook business page so it's messaged some through this app as well and i can respond to all in one convenient place. The only issue I have found is that the facebook messages notify me by email but not push notifications like the website chat does. Still works better than any other I have tried.
