The surveyor Karl explained a lot of stuff about the house we surveyed on the site and spend a good amount of time after his survey answering questions about our extension plans and other general queries. Also we received prompt replies later on via email after we had questions about things which showed up on our Solicitor environmental search, drainage etc. Very happy with the service that i received.

Chawton Hill were excellent from the start.
The office staff were most helpful, providing advice and answering all our questions. We had the full building survey even though the property was less than 20 years old. Our surveyor, Mark Knight,
was a pleasure to deal with. He was very thorough in his 3 hour inspection and in the follow up verbal feedback, he was clear and helpful. The report was sent within a couple of days and was easy to follow and very detailed with plenty of pictures to illustrate the items referred to. This excellent service cost less than a previous survey that was done on a different property by another company. We would certainly use again and recommend to others.

Unfortunately we had a poor experience. We booked a survey only to have it cancelled due to administrative error as the surveyor had double booked. I cannot comment on the survey as we didn't get that far so will never know.

Excellent service. I chose Chawton Hill because of the walk around and was really pleased I did. Steve Holmes is experienced and knowledgeable and had completed the survey by the time we arrived, we didn't have major concerns about the structure of the building but this was reassuring nonetheless. However, we had a goodd idea of what we planned to do with the house, and walking around with Steve was incredibly helpful as we were able to get input at this early stage as to the feasibility of our plans. The written report is pretty standard, the walk around isn't and is what distinguishes this company from the others.

Chawton Hill were excellent. They provided prompt advice and responses to any questions. We got the full building survey for an older property and the surveyor - Mark Knight was very thorough, taking the full 3 hours to inspect the property and the additional walkaround that is included was very good, and he even took longer than the 30mins stated to answer questions and thoroughly explain any issues. The report was sent within 5working days and was clear and easy to understand with plenty of pictures. Also good value by comparison.

Chawton Hill Building Survey

Overall very professional, prompt and friendly company. We were skeptical when we spoke to Chawton Hill, however they put our fears at rest by their wonderful service.

We requested for a Building Survey to be carried out for the property - 1920's 3 Bedroom Semi Detached property. Karl Grover, the surveyor was very professional and gave us an informed view of the property including our concerns and thoughts of our future extension plans. He walked us through the property on-site and issues identified right after the survey. The report was issued to us within 5 working days as promised and was very detailed.

Office Staff were very friendly and prompt in responding to our emails. We will not hesitate recommending and using their service in future.

Fabulous from start to finish
Appreciated the in-depth explanation about the service even before Id signed up. The booking process was easy and the cost competitive (Id never go with the cheapest). Survey report clear and well done. Really like their 'walk-around' service with the surveyor and the facility to call them about the survey weeks and months after.

Chawton Hill were friendly, efficient and reasonably priced. I can't fault the service and I very much appreciated the 'walk around' with the surveyor.

We found the surveyor's (Steve Holmes) professional approach to be impressive as he guided us around the property during the physical walk through. We would rate this aspect of the service offered by this firm as a must.

I would like to share my excellent experience using this company for my home survey , They have been most helpful and professional nothing has been a problem to them ,especially when I’ve been asking them their opinions and advise , they have shown their expertise and knowledge when I’ve asked them questions with regards to building regulations and design etc. My property is an unusual build as a barn conversion they detected some key issues with the roof components , this was done using a special camera, and they highlighted some active woodworm
I was advised on the best actions for any issues that required attention .
I felt they went over and above just a standard survey dealing with my barrage of questions, I could not recommend these guys enough.

The surveyor I worked with from Chawton Hill was absolutely excellent. He gave me a really thorough walk through of the property, sent me an email of the points we discussed ahead of the survey and answered all my questions. The only reason I deducted a star was that the timing for the walk-around wasn't flexible (it had to be at 1pm) which meant I had to take time off work (well worth it though). I also prefered the format of another survey I received where each element of the building was rated green, yellow or red rather than an aggregate rating. That being said, I would definitely come back to this surveyor firm again and would highly recommend them.

Very helpful, quick, good follow up.

I was looking for a particular type of Survey and Chawton Hill were the only surveyor who could give me this information I required.

Our Surveyor on the day was Andrew Doggrell and he was so warm, helpful, knowledgeable and noticed a couple of things that other Surveyors would not have spotted. I could not fault him in anyway. The Report was comprehensive, easy to read and more than sufficient for our purposes.

Had a full survey done and the surveyor failed to spot massive woodwork flight holes in the loft. There response was “ in hindsight he should have mentioned it”. Not been offered any refund or partial refund of the fee . Avoid.
FOLLOW UP. As per the other reviews where they have failed they seem to say that everything’s fine and nothings wrong in there replies. Be careful with your money, your buying a property at the end of the day and these guys should be professional and do there job properly before you commit, not after you get in your property!!
