This is advertised as a playmat, and appears padded in the photos online. However it is as thin as any other blanket. So it might do as a picnic blanket, but it provides no protection as a playmat when there are inevitable falls.

Pretty. Practical. Easy to fold up. Bought for picnic mat to keep in the car so not used yet.
