Right! Where to start! Yes this is that bad indeed! So, I did approach Cherwell Window nearly 2 years ago thinking they were a nice, professional and well established company whom I could trust and in fact it has been a terrible experience which isn’t over yet… Unfortunately the following will put you off to deal with these people as indeed it could be a long and painful journey like mine has been and still is. So, back to the facts! Cherwell do not have their own builders and therefore works with a bunch of local trades men (or not…) hence based on what you want (for us it was a conservatory) Ryan (MD) will recommend somebody he knows to do the job. That’s where it gets tricky as indeed from their beautiful website and brochures were it says that they will help you on dealing with all aspects of the building regulation as well as planning permission, the reality is that nothing was done for us and we had to manage ourselves this aspect. So when you are planning to spend almost £40K on a conservatory, you would like some kind of “expert” guidance and actually a “turnkey solution”. Also, as soon as the “contract” was signed, they almost detached themselves from the fact that even though they were only supplying and fitting Atlas Roof, large Origin bi-folding doors and two set of French doors, they did not chase the builder which was over a month late to start building the walls and foundations… Only when I went to see them asking to cancel the order as nothing was happening, neither I got to see any drawings of what I wanted to be built, they started chasing the builder… telling me that I couldn’t cancel the order because it was too late for this… So the build started under some kind of tensions… and through the process I did realise that the “tradesman” wanted only cash in hand… so I did tell him that I needed an invoice and seeing the nature of the work, I wanted an invoice for future reference. But hey, now the guy has gone, didn’t complete his work and no invoice was sent to me!... Cherwell! Not interested of course as from the MD’s words; “we only recommended him to you” therefore this was my fault, I should have been more cautious! Interesting fact as not being familiar with this trade I could only use the recommended builder… So, the foundations were finished and the windows could be swapped for French doors! Knowing we had a newly built house, we asked the staff to remove the windows carefully as we could certainly get some money for them online. Well they indeed removed them carefully but left them in the middle of the building area were they got literally trashed… we had to deeply clean them before we could do anything with them. So, new French doors replaced, we realised that they were massively uneven and had to start again knowing the aggravation that was creating… Meanwhile the Atlas roof was taking place, and the guys managed to get wrong glass panels made for the roof… which delayed the process… all this being in December… then the roof was finally put together with some defects and I was told by the MD.. that; “this was a building work therefore issues would be expected”… obviously after sending over 30 emails with pictures and comments, we got to the point where the roof is still leaking in several places… and the lack of interest is getting worse. When emailing the MD to ask for compensation due to the mistakes and delays, I was told: “we don’t give any compensation, we come back on site until complete customer satisfaction”… Well, so far the customer satisfaction rating is equal to zero… So, all in all to evaluate them -> tidiness is almost inexistent, ownership of the project is inexistent, follow-up very slow but they want you to settle the invoice ASAP! I had to get another trades man to finish of the work done by the guy they recommended me… (Which afterall was decently done and seems to be the only thing without issues!) They only "fit" (if they can...) other people's products as in; Origin Doors, Atlas Roofing system and pretend to be focussing on the fitting side only to give the best of each products... just a joke!!... Extremely disappointing experience and still on-going issues! Strangely, the rating posted on the 09 of January 2018 sounds like it was the same experience I had! I didn’t rate them to start with as I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and a chance to rectify the issues but now it is enough… it is a shame that Trust pilot do not allow to publish pictures as it would have been good to evidence my story… the latest email I sent them (after 2 months of no communication) was on the 25/06/18… no reply so far! Brilliant!...

We had twenty Internorm windows fitted in our house over the course of a week. The standard of the work was excellent with our bathroom tiles, granite internal sills etc. all preserved perfectly. One window frame was slightly scratched during installation but the Cherwell installers pointed this out at the time and organised an impeccable repair. All of the people that we dealt with from the first visit to the final payment were professional and polite. In short, I can highly recommend this company.

Cherwell are a very professional company at the higher end of the replacement window business. They use their own fitters and rectify any issues quickly and communication is generally excellent. It’s is relatively early days for my installation but no complaints.
All staff, office and fitters are polite, friendly and efficient. Would recommend if you need quality wood, upvc or aluminium products. They only deal with quality product. Not cheap but quality is always a little more expensive.

We have had a new door made and installed by Cherwell Doors and Windows. The door itself appears to be of good quality, and the fitters did a superb job of installing it. The support staff contributed to an overall excellent experience.

I found the experience with Cherwell exceedingly disappointing. I was totally bowled over by their showroom in Beaconsfield and the initial service I received in terms of providing a quote. I then had their surveyor visit who was lacking in any customer service skills whatsoever and actually ended up in tears after due to his appalling manner. When the windows were fitted the communication was TERRIBLE. To start with when I transferred several thousand pounds to their account - the office staff said it hadn’t been received. I was assured this would be checked and they would get back to me. Several hours later after worrying that perhaps I had put the wrong account number in I grew tired of waiting for someone to call me back- so I rang them to check. I was informed that yes indeed the money had been received that morning (thanks for that uneccesary worry Cherwell).
First day of fitting I came home to find there were marks all over the windows and the wrong handles had been attached to the wrong windows. These were remedied but the point is no one bothered to communicate this to me before I came home.
Second day of fitting I arrived home to find the bathroom window did not have obscured glass as per my order. Again this has been remedied eventually. I had to ask numerous times for window handles to be tightened. In addition many of the window panels were not ‘clamped’ properly so had significant draughts. In fact I am convinced that at least one of my windows still hasn’t been fitted properly but I am less than inclined to ask them to come back due to the frosty reception I received from the ‘Managing Director’ Ryan when I previously called with issues.
On the last day of fitting I came home to find that whilst trying to ‘clamp’ one of the windows the fitters had cracked one of the window frames. Again no communication to give me prior warning!!
After the installation was supposedly complete I found patches of the ‘wood-effect’ paint work that had been damaged on the upvc window frames - this has been remedied but was disappointing to discover and have to ring and complain AGAIN! On top of all this I also got the distinct impression from members of staff that they found my complaints to be a chore and that I was a ‘headache’ to them despite it all being entirely their own making. I expect that when I spend £15,000 that I should received a service commensurate with this kind of outlay but unfortunately it was absolutely not the case with Cherwell. I will be looking for another supplier of Evolution windows when I look to complete the project throughout the rest of my property.

From start to finish Cherwell offered a very professional approach, from the first person who came to discuss door options, to the guy who measured up and the fitters on the day. We were due to have our new front door fitted the week after we had the bad snow and we were contacted to say it may be slightly delayed due to the weather holding up other jobs, this was not the case in fact and installation went ahead as scheduled. We would highly recommend Cherwell windows and doors to anyone.
