I kept trying to look for a replacement quilted jacket for my previous one for the winter. This is of a great thickness for the autumn with some light layering, or in winter with a bit more layering, so it's fairly versatile in its use. Just to note that this is fairly tight fitting so if you like that form it's true to size; if you want a little more flexibility for layering suggest going up a slze. Some people have commented that there's no inside pocket - I would agree that a small /moderate sized one would be helpful to store some valuables such as a phone out of sight; the outer pockets are at the right ankle for your hands. Overall, very happy with the purchase.
