Absolute shambles

Absolute shambles. First thing in the morning I was told that my claim was accepted and what to do next. Had to ring back at the end of the day only to be told that the advice I had been given was incorrect and my claim was not being approved. They listened to the phone conversation and agreed that the advisor had said it was approved , but basically , tough luck it’s not approved now!

Stressful, worrying and shocking customer service.

Car got broken into, front passenger window completely smashed into the car. Autoglass could only fit with a thin bit of plastic and tape and up to 2 week wait for replacement window. Car not driveable and taken by greenflag contractor to a secure facility in the middle of nowhere as not secure enough to park outside my house. Im fully comp and cannot access my courtesy car because they say it does not cover windows, despite thousands shards broken glass all over my car and water damage from rain. Call centres all abroad and all just stuck to the script passing me from one call handler to another (spoke to 10 people over 9 hours, got nowhere), not allowed to talk to anyone in charge, offered manager call back x3 and nobody called. Tried online wattsapp, had to wait for a minimum of ten minutes between every message for a reply and just told they couldnt help me as they wern't in the UK. I pay hundreds of pounds every year to Churchill but got zero customer service, a below par repair, no replacement car and now have to spend over £300 for a hire car so I can get to work next week. Shockingly bad and made a stressful day 10 times worse than it should have been. Nobody has yet confirmed to me exactly where my car is.

Comprehensive plus - car hire benefit absolute scam

With the exception of one excellent member of staff who tried to help, terrible customer service. Had a no fault accident, and with comprehensive plus insurance expected a temporary hire car similar to our BMW X5.

Website says:

“Guaranteed Hire Car Plus
If your car’s being fixed by one of our approved repairers, we'll give you a hire car of similar physical size to your own, to drive until yours is fixed.”

We were offered a Vauxhall Corsa as being the best on offer as a “Category D” insured party.

Apparently somewhere in the small print it says something like “but that’s not guaranteed - it will have 5 doors”. One of the agents admitted it was a common complaint.

Many other issues like accountability of managers that won’t speak with me etc.

Shameful and misrepresentative - either provide what you say you will or stop being deceitful by asking for more money for a premium policy and then insulting your policyholders.

After being with Churchill insurance…incompetence

After being with Churchill insurance for a number of years I changed my car and found cheaper insurance. I rang Churchill and cancelled my insurance I paid then proceeded to pay the payment for cancelling early, no problem, I asked if this was everything that was owed and was told yes everything is all paid up excellent.
Until I received a letter telling me I owed more money a month later to which I rang and spoke to somebody and I explained the above and was told a note had been put on there system to not send any other letters to me as I was not to at the time of the original cancellation that I would owe any more money so the lady said no problem you won’t hear anything else, excellent well so I thought. Another month later I received a letter demanding the money again. So once again I rang and explained about the phone call I had with the lady last month date, time and what was said only for this rude man to tell me even though he read from his system exactly the same as I had told had been done he then proceeded to tell me I would be blacklisted as I explained if I had not paid the cancellation fee and double checked that nothing else was owing and then one month then 2 months being told I now owe extra even though the First Lady had told me not to worry, I find this very unprofessional when it’s in front of them, so be very careful what you sign or ask for copies or screenshots of there system otherwise as they will blacklist you for there own incompetence. Absolutely appalled by this today after being with them for a good few years!!!

Poor claims service

Poor claims service. Having to chase for my excess to be waived due to liability clearly with third party. Vehicle has been grossly undervalued, no empathy from their claims team. Insurance is meant to reinstate you to the position you were in when you suffered the loss, however, in this case, I am far worse off than prior to the claim. Avoid.

60% hike in premiums with no changes or conditions? Suffered grim chatbot service following by 40minute queue on phone. No explanation or negotiation on premium hike. So, I've just got a dozen price comparison site quotes for about 60% less. Will never go near Churchhill again. Hope they begin to understand that when you treat customer like cretins they might go elsewhere.

NO WONDER YOU ARE NOT ON COMPARISON SITES. They wouldn’t have you, unsubscribed to all your emails will never ever do a quote with Churchill ever again! Money grabbing **********

Policy number not renewed

Policy number: 90849972
Very angry. My policy auto renewed 2021 but not 2022. Angry is understatement of how I feel. I wanted to make claim but was unable to do. I’ve been advised was error on company but that’s not customers fault. So continue my policy as normal awful incompetent people I spoke to.

Very good Service

Recently had to contact Churchill using power of attorney. They were brilliant. Thanks for making what could have been a tricky position very manageable.

I vowed never to use these guys again…

I vowed never to use these guys again when they charged me over £40 to update my policy!
Unfortunately this year they were the cheapest again - I know, I'm a sucker for a saving right.
Anyway took out new policy - what they quoted me for renewal was 50% more that I found online (thieves!) so I took it. Few weeks later I found out my old policy had auto-renewed and they tried to take more cash from my card.
Long story cut short - I complained, they deleted old policy, tried to charge me £10 as the renewal was running but then agreed only an idiot would take out their renewal at the price it was.
Big issue now is that I've not been able to view my new policy online as their system won't let me logon - password reset not working, activate account not working, register account says I have one already.
The guy on the call was very helpful but I can't even confirm the detail on my policy - I just pray it's right and that if we need to use it it they honour what I think I asked for, otherwise could be a court thing to prove they have acted complacently by not doing what they should have legally done.
Another great example of Boris-broken-Britain!! Does no one care about anything any more!!

Slogan should be customers treated like a dogs....

Customer service very poor I had a policy which I cancelled as I no longer have the vehicle I'm still waiting on Churchill for refund.
THIS MAKES ME LAUGH... as whenever we require car insurance they want their money straight away or upfront. We the customers do not keep them waiting for their money!!!

I phone up customer services time and time again as they owe me 4 months refund on the policy Churchill just palm me off and say that they are updating a new system, (this is not my concern and problem.)

Avoid this insurance company they never listen to the customer's Requests.

Liars

They offered customers money back due to doing less driving during the pandemic. Filled in the online form with my account details. They said you would receive it within 10 days. That was 4 weeks ago, I've received nothing. Even rang them, still nothing. They're just a bunch of liars. Won't be renewing my car insurance with them.

Easy to work with

I have used their service for a little over 1 year now and found them to be great in comparison to other insurance companies I've dealt with.

When needing to switch a car, no problem, when it came to renewal, no problem - much more than what I've been able to do with other insurance companies.

If you want to be held hostage......

If you want to be held hostage by a company, please go with them. In order to make changes to my policy, I called and was delivered a quote DOUBLE what I was previously paying. This was initially based on the second driver and, when asked to remove that, was then stated it was the new postcode. My partner is with Aviva and her insurance went DOWN based on the new address. Because I didn't want to pay double the amount, I was charged a £58 cancellation fee. So you either go with whatever number they give you (which went from £33 to £61) or need to pay them if you don't agree to the amounts they give you. What a disgrace of a company. Complete and total robbery.
