Terrible customer service
Web app did not function. Called customer service and got blamed that it was my problem. Worst customer experience.

Cit Bank has a good rate of return, BUT THEY ARE VERY HARD TO WORK WITH. I didn't think it would be a big deal that they do not have any actual branch locations, BUT, what I found is that funding my account has been a BIG pain. I planned on wiring funds, but my original bank charges $30 to wire money and there is a limit per wire. Therefore, in order to get the funds that I wanted to send, I would have to send multiple wires and do it over several days due to weekly limits. I tried Plan B... mobile deposit a check, and what I learned is that they have LOW LIMITS FOR MOBILE DEPOSITS, making it another difficult and drawn out process just to get the money into my account. Consider that you will have a PAINFUL AND LONG AND DRAWN OUT PROCESS JUST TRYING TO GET YOUR MONEY TO THEM to the point that the 1% higher interest rate gets negated with transfer fees and time spent. My time is too valuable to deal with them, so I will just keep my money in my other bank. :-(

I linked my personal platinum savings to my business account, when I first opened the account.3 months later, I linked to the same business account for a Zelle. They start saying my account is under review because it’s linked to business bank account. I would have to wait until 3 claims pending in another bank closes, before they release my funds… outrageous. They don’t call you to let you know what’s going on with your account. You find out, when you attempt to login . So you call them, it takes
Them up to 10 days to let you speak to fraud department.. a nightmare bank

I recently opened a high yield savings account with CIT bank. While I love that they are paying a higher percentage, I HATE that it takes SOOOOO long for my money to be available after an electronic transfer; over 1 week. I could totally see taking over 1 week to be available if I did a mobile check deposit, but it takes way too long for an electronic transfer.

Great interest rates but after I made one withdrawal I have never been able to access my account. Have made numerous CORRECT login attempts but no luck. Customer service has tried but no luck. Plan to cancel after I receive tax info.

I’ve had a truly disappointing experience with CIT. Their lack of unresponsiveness left me feeling cheated. After losing a significant amount of money due to unclear fee structures. I’ve realized the importance of choosing a reliable platform. I’ve since switched to{EASY BE} which has proven to be far a far trustworthy and efficient option.

This is why i left cit and use “Easy beee” platform now, atleast those are reliable,Been on cit since may, earned some money, community admins have disappeared, app still working, but no withdrawals are working so can only assume this is a scam. If it reappears it will be a miracle

Do not trust CIT!!! I found out they changed the account savings rate and reduced by rate from around 5% to .66. They said its because i was under 25K, bu they changed that requirement and I had no idea. They introduced a NEW plan that had a 5K min at 5% and of course did not notify existing members. It just a way to screw you once you are in, but attract new savers and eventually do the same to them

My money earned a decent rate, but they put my account on dormant and would not let me access it. I called customer service after trying on my own. On the phone for an hour without any progress. The game is that the law requires them to transfer your funds into an account of the State Controller if there's no activity. So they lock you out of your account so you can not have activity. Then your money is gone. No thank you. I'm going back to Emigrant Direct. CIT offers the high rate to lore you in. Don't fall for it. These folks are making bank with shady practices.

My CD matured while I was out of the country and missed the 10 day window to renew at a higher rate. They rolled my CD into an account earning less than .5 percent (while other banks are offering 5.5%). Other banks roll over to current interest rates-be aware CIT does not. The website is not secure, customer service is aware of it, so apparently the bank is OK with that. Something to keep in mind if you want your money and identity in a secure place.

Set up account New Customer. Entered all information. Signed back in to complete. Wanted 2 step verification, code to mobile. Gave 3 phone numbers have never been associated with. Customer service rude. Not opening account there.

It is clear to me that CIT bank has computer problems. I have had problems logging in and transferring money to the point where I became concerned the security of my account. This has been a continuous problem for more than 2 months. I was given assurances that my money is safe. I believe the bank is hiding a serious computer problem.

I opened a savings and checking account. The savings is my only savings account now and I have no issues. The high yield returns are great. Now, as for the eChecking, after I started using the checking as well as updating my direct deposit to go into that account and switch my bill pays, it didn't take long for me to see issues.
1. I had several notifications from the app informing me an authorized transaction was denied yet it didn't provide a way to indicate it was in fact authorized and not due to fraud. I couldn't even tell which transaction(s) were denied based on the notifications and you can't see any evidence of that online. Customer service was clueless about that topic. Not encouraging.
2. When you make a purchase using a debit card, the transaction has a meaningful description while in pending state. But once it's posted, it's just "Pos Transaction"....obviously there's nothing meaningful about that. That just means fraudulent transactions can be buried/hidden among the valid transactions and you may never know. The bill pay transactions are no better as they're all listed the same as "Electronic Bill Pay"...so unless you know the payments by amount for each bill pay you setup, those are not meaningful without comparing it to the bill pay list (assuming no amounts are the same for different bill pay account)
Long story short, I'm now waiting on a few bill payments to clear, changed my direct deposit back to my prior bank and setup my bill pays with my old bank to resume. It's just uneasy to know that CIT chose to just use meaningless descriptions for debit transactions. While you can earn interest on the eChecking and get reimbursed up to $30/mth for ATM transactions, I don't think checking is worth it as it works right now. Hence, this review is really about their eChecking.

Transferring small amounts also without any charges.
I plan to file a complaint against this bank. I have proof to prove my point. I called and followed written instructions to withdraw my money. Today is the 5th business day the money has not been transferred. Please add some days if you open an account with this bank. Transfering your own hard-earned money to an external account takes way longer in today's world
Update: 11/18/23 Finally the amount was transferred to my external account. When you call, the customer service folks are super nice. They will assist you.
The bank needs to invest in technology a bit more. As you can read lot of folks were not satisfied that transfer takes longer. If this is a common complaint among many customers why not work on improving on digital transfer?
