Great communication with consistent updates and confirmations - and all with a friendly position.

I was looking for an online site to purchase a large sum of gold and I was a little hesitant at first. I came upon Citadel Gold and the experience made me feel alot more comfortable. The sales team was very professional and knowledgeable. The order came at a timely fashion and i would definitely recommend them.

i was skeptical about Gold & Silver and diversifying my portfolio, but Gold & Silver kept going up and i didn’t want to miss the bus, then i shopped around and found Citadel with great reviews and a great reputation, then i spoke to a knowledgeable rep and it was like hitting the staples easy button, i felt comfortable and the transaction was swift and i got my free silver it was like a cherry on top and am i happy i found Citadel Gold! i will be back and tell my friends.

I recently rolled over my retirement account into gold and silver. Had wonderful service and communication and the pricing was phenomenal. I couldn’t recommend a better team. Very smooth experience.

I got a cold call saying I had inquired about precious metals. I made no such inquiry to them. I made no such inquiry at all since a different company tried to scam me last year. I guess the other company must have sold them my contact information.

I wonder whether these two companies might be organized by the same people. Their websites are eerily similar, and Citadel Gold flagged this review (for defamation) within 2 hours of trustpilot making a decision in my favor about another review, which was flagged (for defamation) by the other company. Coincidence? You decide.

In any case, they got my number somehow and made a cold call trying to sell me gold and silver, when I never made an inquiry to them.

Edit: This website investigated the defamation flags, and the reviews remain up. So now this company has resorted to what I consider to be a disproportionately hostile and aggressive response, attacking my character and making false accusations against me (cf. their reply below)

I have kept my identity private on trustpilot because I want to avoid any possible retaliation from companies that have my personal information. Look at the disproportionately aggressive response they made to a simple complaint about receiving an unwanted cold call. Does this look like the behavior of an honest actor? You decide.

Their response is defamatory and entirely untrue. Please allow me to respond point by point.

1. Obviously they cannot verify a record of a transaction when I never revealed my identity and the only interaction between us was an unexpected 25 second call. I have evidence of the call record, which I provided to trustpilot to prove my experience was real. The company can’t prove there was or wasn’t an interaction between us because I did not disclose my personal details to them when they requested that information through trustpilot.
2. Since I never gave them my contact information and never requested for them to call me, the only way they could have possibly gotten my phone number is through another company. It follows logically that either my phone number was given to them or sold. Either way, that points to some type of interaction between the two companies.
3. I have never called their office. Never once. That is exactly the reason why I complained about getting a cold call.
4. If they don’t know my identity then how can they possibly determine whether I am responsible for multiple calls using multiple aliases? I doubt the veracity of the claim that they received any such calls. In my opinion, it looks like projection of their own behavior onto me.
5. I don’t even know how to do that.
6. I have only reviewed 2 gold companies: the one that tried to scam me out of my life savings, and the one that gave me a cold call out of nowhere. I am not going around reviewing companies with whom I have not interacted. My constructive feedback is this: do not call people who never requested information from you.
7. That is just silly. They are reaching on that one.

8. All of my reviews have been honest. Trustpilot has a system they use to verify customer experiences without the customer needing to share personal information directly with a company.

9. I’m just trying to protect any potential naive investors from substantial losses by warning them to do their due diligence. The gold industry is unregulated so these companies can markup their products as much as they want.

Unfortunately, precious metals scams are common— so common in fact, that the CFTC has information online about precious metals scams and how to report them.

I enjoin you to read the 1-star reviews by anybody on any gold company. You will see a pattern of deception and lost wealth.


If you want to buy gold, I suggest that you deal with a local merchant that you actually know, and not one that was advertised online or endorsed by a public figure.

If you do buy precious metals, make sure you have physical custody of the metals, rather than trusting a third party to store it in a depository for an IRA. If you don’t hold it, then you don’t own it.
