The new owners really ruined this…
This is regarding the City Meat Market located at 814 Queen St E, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, P6A 2B1.
The new owners really ruined this place. If you see positive reviews from a year before this review, it’s not an accurate reflection of the service anymore.
First, I was told to send an Interac e-transfer to an employee’s personal email address, to her personal bank account. Although that was a little weird, I did it because I was told our food delivery would be at our house at 5pm that day, or shortly after. We planned our dinner that evening around that expectation, and we have a 1 year old child.
I sent the money at 1pm and nothing ever showed up.
We waited hours to make dinner and our toddler ended up eating 2 hours late. He was crying so we had to take him to a restaurant because this place took our payment and left us hanging.
I was told our order was ready to go before I sent the payment, so it’s not as if they were busy making it.
I called them the next day and they said they’d send it out immediately and to expect it in 10 minutes.
90 minutes go by and nothing. I wasn’t going to wait around for the store to close, so I go to the store in person, and they tell me their delivery guy had straight up “forgot” about our order the previous day, but he had just left before I got there.
How am I supposed to know if the food is still safe to eat? If they forgot about it, was the delivery box just left out overnight? How am I supposed to take that risk with a child?
Big box stores are going to put independent places like this out of business for exactly this kind of reason.
