I bought a ticket for the bus to woodbury common, which I had to present at the shortline ticket counter to redeem. But when they checked it, it said the ticket was not valid. So I called city sightseeing and they confirmed my booking, but when I asked what to do now, they just hung up on me.
Avoid this company!!!

VERY DISSATISIFED CUSTOME

When I purchased the passes in February of 2020 I was planning to take my granddaughter to New York for 2 weeks for her high school graduation present. I purchased the insurance so if I had to cancel (which I never thought would actually happen) I would receive a full refund. Then COVID hit. Since the passes were good for a year from date of purchase I thought I'd hold off on cancelling. In November of 2020 I decided I better cancel and when we were able to reschedule I would just order passes again. I called on November 9th and was told no timeframe for refund but give a couple weeks. After a couple weeks I called back and was told might be faster to send an e-mail. I sent the e-mail and received a reply that my refund would post back to my card in 3 weeks. The 3 weeks passed and no refund. I called again and was told my request was with accounting. I sent another e-mail and was told due to thousands of refund requests and low number of employees to process them it's taking longer than normal. They said please be patient and I was assured I would receive my refund. Fast Forward 6 months and still no refund. I've made several phone calls and sent several e-mails. I get the same response - be patient, you will get your refund. It seems a little curious that all replies are from "George". It would seem pretty unlikely that one person would happen to get all my e-mails from the thousands they claim they are receiving. I'm going to continue hoping my refund will eventually come but I'm not very confident.

They've stolen our money

We purchased tickets for New York to celebrate my wife's 50th Birthday in March 2020 then Covid came along and despite having insurance Sightseeing Pass never refunded our money, they do not respond to emails and do not answer calls, they have stolen our money. Do not trust them and do not give them your money.

Pricy tickets & poor overall experience.

I had booked two tickets (too pricy) for me and a colleague in the mid of November. We've been waiting for the Night Tour for more than an hour. Most probably, they did not have enough buses to facilitate all the requests.

I do not recommend them at all.

Don't waste your money!

Don't waste your money!! Paid $59 for a 48 hr ticket at 2:30pm on October 8th. Boarded the bus a few minutes later, bus driver announces bus route ends early (in 30 minutes) due to Jewish holiday and there will be no bus the next day, also Jewish holiday. My ticket was therefore useless. When I asked for a refund they declined because I 'used' the 48 hour ticket for 20 minutes! This is not a serious business, but because they cater to tourists from out of town they can get away with this lack of professionalism. Don't waste your money!

The Passes Service of City Sightseeing…

The Passes Service of City Sightseeing New York is best. I purchased some passes from city sightseeing in a very reasonable price. I started my journey with my friends towards New York for two days and these two days in new York become a very beautiful memory of my life.

Do not waste your money on this…

Do not waste your money on this company.
Cancelled whole day of my ticket due to "a storm". It was clear blue sky and sunny.
Said they may cancel night before due to 6-8 inches of snow.... any excuse. They obviously didn't want to run that day. No refund was offered. Told to take up with them when I returned home.
Did that lot of times and have not had a single response. Ignored every email.

Disorganized shady

Rip off. Shady company. We purchase 5 attraction flex passes and used 4. On the 5th it said passes were no longer valid. They had us scanned in an area we never visited (no refund, they didn't care). Everywhere you use these they scan the passes and take a picture of them. I suspect one of the pictures was sent to someone else. Spent all day in one area but somehow used a pass on opposite side of the city... You've been warned.

messed up the whole day!

After hopping off the bus to visit Lincoln Square we tried to hop on again at the same bus station, but that did not work: Several buses from the same line passed us without stopping, several had no capacity to get on. A large crowd of people wanting to hop on, had had shaped at the bus station and begann to become frustrated with the situation. It took us several hours to get on a bus but we had to sit downstairs inside of the bus, in the heat, with no view of the city at all. We were told we could move upstairs as soon others would leave but that did not happen, so we went around central park, through Harlem without actually getting a view. Also the staff was rude.
It messed up the whole day, I had spent a lot of money on those tickets and my sisters had come a long way to spend a weekend in New York.
Obviously NYsightseeing is selling too many bus tickets for too few buses in order to accommodate all costumers appropriately.
I would not recommend it. For $168 we could have taken a lot of cabs!

The MOST money I have ever spend on FRAUDULENT services!!!!!

To whom it may concern,
This email is in reference to complaint #52673 filed on July 25 2017. Attached you will find photos of our city bus sightseeing tour tickets.

As our family has been out of country since the 25th we have not had staple access to email and this is the cause of this delayed complaint.

On July 25th our family was visiting New York City. We were approached by over 6 sales representatives for your company "city sight seeing new york". We were solicited a hop on hop off tour of new York City with various tour options all accompanied by a live voice guided tour. Buses were to arrive at each stop roughly every 20 minutes and there was an option to be seated below deck or above deck- both having the option to plug in PROVIDED headphones to hear the live guided tour.

As you will see our first issue arose when purchasing tickets. The paper ran out half way through printing our tickets and the sales rep could not re print the last unprinted ticket again once he re-filled his machine. This lead to a lengthy phone call to his supervisor who after many failed attempts to print the last ticket (which was already paid for on our visa,) advised that the sales rep re print our tickets and say that we (the customer) paid cash (even though we paid visa) he then kept the half printed tickets and reprinted all of our tickets.

We immediately found a pick up location and we had to wait and watch 2 busses load up and leave as there were too many passengers. NOT a great start as this was over a 50 minute wait "because traffic was bad". We finally boarded a bus and the only seats left were below deck. This would have been disappointing enough on its own considering the bus is wrapped in your advertising decals, making viewing out the covered windows difficult at best. To add insult to injury the bus was so full we had to stand. Because of this we could not hear the guided tour nor see out the windows. This was beyond disappointing. We stayed on the bus for about 20 minutes debating getting off, but being discouraged by the fear we would not get back on a bus as they were so full and "running behind schedule". We got off anyway because the tour in the fashion it was being delivered at that point was pointless. We toured a cathedral and then grabbed a bite to eat. We located our next pick up location as shown on your tour maps (given upon purchasing a ticket). We waited 40 minutes at this stop, still no bus. We decided to walk back to the cathedral down the road where we were dropped off ( as we walked we watched for busses to pass on this route, as it was a straight shot from one stop to the next. Not one of your busses passed us on our journey down the road). We waited at the next stop for another 40 minutes. Finally, a bus came and yet again we were on the bottom of the bus on a bus so full that there was hardly enough room to stand. Again we heard and saw nothing. No A/C on the bus and absolutely jam-packed with other frustrated customers of yours. We took the bus back to an area somewhat close to our car. At this point, I called and made my complaint. I understand that things happen when running a business, however, to falsely solicit a service in the way that your company did is criminal. We not only were let down by the absolute waste of money this was but we LOST an entire day because of it. Time is precious for those of us who earn an honest living and even though we tried to make the best of our time, we were left stranded by you in a city we knew nothing about for an entire day of our vacation.

Because of this, we are requesting a refund for the services you promised and that we purchased but that were not provided to us.

Both tour guides apologized and admitted that they oversold tickets and did not have enough buses running and as we respect their apologies, they did not get back the time and money we lost that day.

TO DATE: follow-up emails x3 and phone call x2 - keep being put on hold and disconnected.

Poor Transport Organisation-Buyer Beware!!!

We booked onto the Super Saver Ticket to Woodbury on Monday (14th August) which had set departure times of 9am and returning at 4:45pm. We arrived well before 9am and waited in line for the bus. However we were advised that the first bus was full and the second bus would be arriving in 30 mins which means a departure of 9:30am. Firstly I want to note that we had to wait in line for 30 mins and the company representative at the bus stand was rude and did not provide any clarification/confirmation when asked whether the 30 min delay could be made up at the end? He didnt even care nor made any effort to clarify this with anyone in the company and basically left us waiting on the footpath and never returned.I would expect more professionalism from a company like this. Secondly if the company knew that many people booked in at this time, why wasnt a second bus already arranged in advance to ensure a timely departure for all? Overall I was not happy with the experience and would not be recommending this to anyone. Preference would be 0 stars!

Had a great stay with Sightseeing Pass

We purchased the Sightseeing Pass online and got it immediately on screen. It was easy to use via QR-Code on our mobile or printed on paper. Staff in the center or guides on the streets were very friendly and helped us to find locations. We had a 7 day unlimited pass which offers a variety of sightseeing tours and good places to see for a really good price.

Flexpass = Easypass

Great value for money, worked for all the attractions, although some food places like applebees didn't accept it. Easy to use and would highly recommend.

Unprofessional behavior of staff

I purchased two 72-hour bus tour tickets for all routes for my parents which included one day hop-on-hop-off on the city sightseeing ferry. On the day they first used the ferry, one staff member wrote the date on both passes (which were stapled together as given to us) but he/she wrote the date wrong on one of the passes (11/11 instead of 11/16). My parents didnt notice this. They got off at one stop, walked around, then took the ferry again without problems. the next stop was Brooklyn. When they later again wanted to take the ferry back, they were denied boarding and were rudely asked to step away. He didnt check that the other pass had the correct date. And even the date on which we got the passes was printed on them and it was 11/13. So it was not at all possible that the pass could have been used on 11/11. My parents had to wait in the cold for the next ferry and luckily that person didnt check the dates and they could get back.

Because of this the whole experience with CitySightseeing was ruined.

The guides on the buses were ok. Some were trying too hard to be funny but they failed. The bus experience was fine but it takes a long time for one route specially if you take a bus in the rush hours. So I would recommend using the metro to save time if you have already been on that part of the bus route before.

The Freestyle pass which I used can be recommended. It offers great flexibility as you can choose attractions on the go. But within 3 days, one cannot see a lot of attractions (unless you use a couple of them for the dining stuff).

Cold, exciting, affordable and a great way to see the city in a day.

We reserved the hop on/hop off uptown and downtown tours. We got on in Times Square and rode on top all the way to Battery Park and then back up again. It was cold. We sat under the scratched up plastic covering area, and moved our way up as people left. By the end of the up to downtown ride, we were able to move in to the very front, where the view is amazing and less scratched. It was so fun!! Great way to see the city. Our guide was very vocal, had a great NY accent, and had no problem putting rude people in their place. She was very opinionated and interactive. We tipped her. It was an experience we will never forget.

Not happy

I was so excited to go to New York and have fun so I bought the 48 hr hop-on hop-off tour. I was so disappointed because the staff doesn't seem to be helpful. I approached them to ask for directions and suggestions for the next stop. They were very friendly when I first approached them, and asked me if I want to purchase a tour package. Their friendliness changed when I said I have already purchased one and I just need help with directions. They almost didn't want to help me and just made me cross the street and told me to catch the next bus, without clear directions. I ended up using the "Via" app. I only boarded the bus once, which is so sad and is absolutely not worthy of the price I paid. The staff at the empire state office where I bought the ticket was so kind and helpful though. Other than that, no bueno.

Reply from City Sightseeing New York

April, thanks for your feedback. It sounds like the staff you're referring to are some our representatives we have posted up near our visitor centers. They are often the first encounters you have with our company, so we understand how vital it is to feel sincerely welcomed by them. It's unacceptable for any of our guests to feel the way you must've upon arriving. Can you provide a few more details regarding the location so that we can be sure to relay this concern to our managers & staff on site? Thanks. And we're SO pleased to hear that your time at the Empire State Building was warm and memorable. Let's see what we can do to ensure that, next time, it all feels that way. Thank you, April!
