I was left stranded yesterday morning at London Gatwick Airport. I booked a transfer from the airport to a London address with City Transfers UK through Jay Ride. I confirmed the pick up with City Transfers UK on October 2nd during which City Transfers UK confirmed the booking and assured me that I would be picked up on October 3rd. I even called them twice and they confirmed both times. I was not even provided the decency of a cancellation email/phone call...anything. After I got through customs and baggage yesterday morning, I could not find the driver who I was told would be waiting by Costa Coffee. I waited for 45 minutes, then emailed City Transfers UK to let them know I had arrived and was waiting. To my surprise, I received an email from Ivo Costa: "Hi, Unfortunately there is an issue with your transfer. Please contact your agent Jay Ride." I managed to find a phone to call City Transfers UK because I do not have access to a personal phone that I can use that works in the UK. On the other end was a totally unhelpful, jerk of a customer service agent who basically told me that they are not working with Jay Ride as of October 2nd and that it wasn't their problem and they were not going to pick me up. To my dismay, I quickly informed him that the transfer was confirmed by City Transfers UK on October 2nd and why wasn't I informed then that I wouldn't be picked up. I asked him when they stopped the relationship and he said it happened late afternoon on October 2nd. I informed him that was funny because I called City Transfers UK around 4:30pm UK time that day and there was NO mention of that. He then confirmed that it was not their problem and offered to give me the Jay Ride phone number which is of no use when I don't have access to a phone, especially to call the US now which I told him. After that, he rudely told me that he was going to hang up on me and then proceeded to do so. A COMPLETE AND UTTER SCAM. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID this company like the plague.
The worst experience with a shuttle service EVER! Even our driver called it: ...a terrible company...
Waited 2 and a half hours before we could leave the airport, because we had to wait for a third passenger, who arrived 2 hours after us.. bad organized, unfair to put travellers together, who have two so different scheduled arriveltimes - really bad way to run a shuttle service. We do NOT recommend them!
The driver arrives 20 mins late for the transfer between airport and hotel. Then when I had arranged the pickup time from the hotel to the airport to be 14:00, I was informed on the day of travel the time had been changed to 11:30 instead. I explained to customer service the issue and all he said was “you will still be charged”. thankfully I paid through BA who have advised me to get a taxi at a time which is dubitable and they will fix it.
Customer service at city transfers are ignorant and unhelpful.
They tried to pick up my brother from the same terminal as us even though he was on a different airline and have put the blame on us. You have to put in airline info when you book so there is no way it is our fault. I emailed to get our money back with no response, will never use again for this reason alone, they lost a customer over like 28.00
I am a travel agent and will never use them for my clients either now that I am aware of how they do business
I ordered in advance a transfer from Stansted Airport to hotel in London centre for 1st Jan and go back on 4th Jan
