The school shoes I bought for my daughter and for my son were very smart and a good choice. The staff were really helpful. I wish our previous Clark’s shop returned back to Gloucester.

Clarks - not what it was.
It was busy, but not excessively so. The lad measuring feet said both of our children aged 11 and 6 were width F which we thought was strange as they have always been G/H. Tried the limited range of shoes on and no surprise they were too narrow. Going to Clark’s used to be a good experience and you didn’t mind paying the high prices as you knew the children had been properly measured and the staff gave good advice I accept it was an Outlet store but even so this service has made me think twice about my brand loyalty.

Thank you for your review. I was sorry to learn of your disappointment following the fitting service offered to your and your children.
Young feet contain soft tissue between the developing bones which does not completely harden until mid-teens. This means that the size or width may vary with small movements of the foot or the angle of the leg, even if the child is relaxed.
The measurement given in store is a starting point. Once your child has a pair of shoes on their feet, the fitter may size up or down to find the best fit.
We do fit styles individually, rather than giving a blanket size. This is because individual styles may fit differently, especially in the case of sandals vs canvas shoes for example.
We hope this information will go some way to reassuring your confidence in our brand.

Wasting time
You didn't have the correct size. I ordered 2 pairs online in case as shoes vary in comfort. They came before the expected date of delivery, which was great. But I then had to return the pair I did not need to Cheltenham.This was very easy. However I have had to visit 2 stores and spend time shopping online. You need to reopen the stores you have closed and have larger stocks available.
