Exceptional attention to detail & very good comms
My delightful little 1939 Morris 8 Series E tourer (looks like Noddy’s car but mine is green & black not red & yellow!) sorely needed recommissioning after being badly laid up since Covid. The AA couldn’t start it so a friend recommended Jon & Co. They collected it and have transformed it for me. The engine bay is perfect. Waxoyled underside. A prize winner now! Attention to detailing 100%…very happy!
Trunk Restoration
Whilst their main work is on cars I asked for a metal travel trunk to be restored and they did a great job and kept me informed all the way through the job . Very skilled people, the work that they do on cars has to be seen to be believed. Well done and thank you!

Restored campervan engine - renewed faith in mechanics
I bought a ‘95 Hiace camper conversion in 2022. On our first trip the radiator failed and the engine blew. It then spent 2 years in a garage in Huddersfield, with the mechanics giving various excuses for the delay. Eventually, £2K lighter I got it back but the engine failed again during a trip to Scotland, due to the shoddy work carried out. I had to have it towed back by the AA. Friends & family advised me to cut my losses and sell the van but I had invested too much time, emotion and money to give up.
After a bit of research online and a few calls (many other local garages don’t want to know), I decided to have it dropped off at Classic & Retro.
From start to finish Jon and the guys were superb, explaining the issues and solutions as they found them and providing regular video updates by WhatsApp which helped to set my mind at ease.
Within a few weeks, I had a fully functioning van and it has now been fully operational without any issues for a year (I delayed my review to ensure I didn’t praise the guys before experiencing further issues).
Jon and the gang are true professionals who clearly take pride in their work. Jon was friendly, patient and amiable throughout. Classic & retro have renewed my faith in mechanics after some awful and costly experiences.
I now have the confidence in my ‘classic’ camper to head back to the Scottish highlands to finish what we started.

Brilliant business full of Lads that know exactly what theyre doing. Ive been down a couple of times to watch them work on my car and they are great at what they do. Jon is an amazing help and goes above and beyond to make sure the job is done properly. He took good care of the car when it was being done and thoroughly checked everything else while he was at it. Great service. if you need a car repairing I would definitely recommend this place.

100% transparent & honest
5* service from Jon (& his team) from the first call & meeting. Advised us of everything they were doing to Rodney (the VW Campervan) and sent pictures/videos of work carried out. We can’t recommend them enough to entrust your vehicle repair or sale to, top class service. Thank you.

Absolutely Amazing!
Jon and the team provided an excellent service when dealing with my 45 year old MGB GT.
From the moment the car was collected until the point it was returned to me, every stage of the process was explained in simple terms and the works undertaken with the upmost care and consideration.
I would highly recommend Classic & Retro Autos Limited! I can't thank them enough.

“Friendly Service, Dream MG!”
Buying a classic MG from Classic and Retro Autos has been one of the most enjoyable experiences I’ve ever had with a dealership. From the moment I first made contact, the team couldn’t have been more welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about classic motoring. They clearly love what they do, and that passion comes through in every detail.
The MG I bought was beautifully presented and exactly as described—clearly cared for with the respect a classic like this deserves. The whole process felt personal, not transactional. The team took the time to answer every question with honesty, offered sound advice, and made me feel completely at ease. It was clear they weren’t just selling a car; they were helping me find the right piece of history to enjoy.
What really stood out was the friendliness and professionalism of everyone I dealt with. They treat you like part of the classic car community from day one, and that’s rare to find. Driving away in my MG, I wasn’t just thrilled with the car. I was grateful for the trust and confidence the team had built along the way.
If you’re considering buying a classic, I can’t recommend Classic and Retro Autos highly enough. A fantastic team, a seamless process, and a truly special experience

The C&R Autos team are amazing
The C&R Autos team are amazing. Simple as that. They’ve restored a Defender 110 for me and worked on my MGB, MK2 Golf and R53 mini. Every job has been top quality with regular feedback and very fair pricing and they do their very best to find parts at the most competitive prices. I’d 100% recommend them. They always have all sorts of classics and modern classics in the workshop and their skill base covers all work.

Best in the Business…
Firstly, Jon and his team are the best I’ve ever experienced in all my years of classic car ownership. My Aston Martin DB7 Vantage had been garaged for several years. Jon and his team got me behind the wheel; delivering a newly serviced, parts replacements, trouble shooting, problem solving, fully fettled and magnificently valeted vehicle. The headliner, a particularly detailed job, like new. All this whilst I was overseas; keeping me fully updated with calls, messages and video footage of progress. I was recommended to Classic & Retro by another car enthusiast who knows his cars well and knows the people who look after them best. He was right and Classic & Retro knocked it out of the park. Brilliant.

Corsair: rare classy service from Classic & Retro
I have been using Jon and his C&R team for a couple of years now - and I won't go elsewhere. So many high street workshops don't know a set of points from a carburettor these days - now I've found a company who know, understand and respect a car like mine - a 1968 Ford Corsair 2000E, with all its quirks and idiosyncrasies. Since I first took the car to Jon, he's investigated and fettled numerous faults, including major electrical problems; lumpy running, an oil pump failure and so forth.
Today, as an aside, I asked if he could look at a left-side indicator failure. Only when I was leaving the car, I asked if they could adjust my handbrake, too. Needless to say, it waa done.
Brilliant service from a top-class team.

A recent renovation
I took my 1950's Austin Healey Sprite for some restorative work here and was immediately impressed with the interest and professional approach of the staff. Their knowledge and enthusiasm was obvious. After several weeks of work with regular liason and reports to me, I took my car home with confidence in the knowledge all was well and running with new vigour. I was assured that any future problems would be quickly addressed.
I must say that I am totally satisfied with the service received and the staff merit a good comment.

Great service and standard of work carried out by Jon and his team of mechanics.
They fitted tachometer, oil pressure and temperature gauges to a ‘72 Camper and sorted out an intermittent electrical problem as well.
Although the problem didn’t show itself at first, Jon had several test drives until the problem showed, he then correctly diagnosed it and fitted the new parts required to fix it.
Very pleasant experience and will definitely use again.

Top class
I visited Classic and Retro as I was passing, just to see what was available. Jon certainly knows his stuff. He is very professional and so helpful. Since then I have had some work done by the team and the service is spot on. Nothing is a problem, everything is discussed in advance so we both know what's to do. Brilliant company and team.

They're the best...!
Jon and his highly-skilled team have always given me the absolute best service, quality of workmanship and advice, and keep my classic MGB Roadster in tip-top shape. They go way above and beyond anything I've experienced from a garage, and in a world of mostly poor customer service, dealing with Jon is a breath of fresh air. His honesty and guidance are truly special. If you run a classic motor and in need of a 1st Class support team, then you really need Classic & Retro Autos, they're the best! And I will undoubtedly continue to use them for as long as I have my classic.

Amazing Customer Service
Jon was a huge help after I was sold a bit of a dodgy VW van. He kept me updated throughout the work, giving me options and accurate costs, and a timeline for the work.
Great service.
