Was never told that there would be a charge. 'Helpful' ladies at the airport probably get a commission.
AGAIN, never one word about actually charging a fee for this service which wasn't any faster than normal check in.

Not sure if this review is best for…

Not sure if this review is best for LinkedIn or Clearme. I hesitantly signed up for LinkedIn, did not want to do it, but I am looking for employment and employers use LinkedIn. While signing up for LinkedIn I was prompted to use Clearme? It has been a few years since I last used LinkedIn so, I thought this was mandatory, there was not an option not to choose Clearme.
In my opinion I think either LinkedIn or Clearme should ask if we would like to signup for clearme if it is indeed optional. There is no way opt out as the screen currently reads. After logging in I was asked for money, upgrades etc, it is completely commercial and not an American Company. I have asked that all my information be deleted, I will update this review after Clearme gets back to me.

Clear Representatives at MCO are Liars

In Orlando at MCO, the representatives were telling TSA Pre-Check customers to come over to the Clear line. They stated it was free and no charge. My wife moved to that line, and shortly thereafter, was asked for her Cc information and told that after two weeks, they would need to start billing her.

Is this even a real company?

The service so frequently underperforms -- not recognized at airport; cannot update billing information on Web site; call center does not answer phones; help desk does not answer emails -- it is hard to believe this is actually a real company. In any case, for $199 I have only so far ever successfully used the service in Newark. So even if it is a real company, it just does not have product/market fit.

Fraudsters

Do not give these people all that information about yourself. They are a scam. TClear people old me I would be notified after the free trial so I could choose to continue with $198 subscription or not. Never notified. I had to go to Visa and file a fraud complaint.

SCAM!!

SCAM!!! Representative blatantly lied, told me it was a free trial, and no charges unless I activated the service. Two weeks later they charged my credit card $318, thankfully my credit card company identified the charge as fraudulent. Seriously, how is this company being allowed into the airports?!

Wrong info at airport-charged for "free" service twice!

I was approached at Nashville international airport and told that if I had a certain credit card, my account would be free for the first year. I entered my info including my CC number and then I was charged on my CC for that month. I had it removed and the next month it was charged again! $199-I had to notify them again and ask for my account with them to be deleted.

I was asked at BWI airport if I wanted…

I was asked at BWI airport if I wanted to skip the long lines without TSA. I asked if it was free and the liar said yes. She then took me to a scanning machine and scanned my eyes and my face and asked for my credit card to put on file. In a hurry. Not paying attention, i gave to her. After that, she told me which lines to get into to board before everyone else. That worked out very nicely. But then when I got to my destination, I read my welcome email and I saw it said it will be $199 per month! When I got home, I cancelled. Very few airports has this service. Not worth the money. TSA IS THE WAY to go, or get there early and stand in line.

Terrible

As others have said this is not a great company. We signed up for the free trial and then cancelled before the end of the period. Did not look carefully at my credit card statements but now just realized they have been charging us $189 for the past two years. When I finally got through to customer service they said yes you did cancel but that we had two separate accounts. What? How? If this is supposed to be a service that checks the security of passengers then how can they have multiple accounts for each person. Something the FAA should be looking into. Would not recommend at all.

NOT WORTH IT!

NOT WORTH IT!! This company grew quickly as it was a great idea. I will say a few years ago the Clear line saved me missing a few flights in the morning.
But they will no longer be in business soon. Due to being poorly run and not enough staff to get everyone through the TSA line quickly. Often the Clear line takes much longer than the TSA Precheck line or regular TSA line. The staff are busy signing up new customers to help the loyal long time dues paying customers. The staff are doing their best but the compnay is not being run properly.
They scam you with hidden charges, It was great when it first started about 5 years ago. But now the CLEAR line is not open at LAX TOm Bradly terminal . I travel extensively . The pst few experiences at LAX terminals , NYC, Arizona . Dallas, Atlanta just to name a few. I have emailed customer service. I have called. They won’t apologize or offer a slightly discounted rate.

A representative from clear approached…

A representative from clear approached me at the airport with the service to get TSA approved. They told me $199 fee would be for five years. I just got billed $199 and another 79.99. Now I find out I’m going to get Bill $199 a year for the service and I barely travel. I have been on their website chat, with no help, and then just called their company number and all you get is a voice recording. This is a fraud and a scam I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau

Horrible company

Horrible company, Impossible to get anything done, Unhelpful support. I have been trying for 6 months to get verified on LinkedIn and there's no way other than to use CLEAR platform to do it. I've done all the steps, verified everything and they keep failing me. Other than showing up in person to HQ I have no idea how to prove that I am who I am. So frustrating and then the support agents just say "oh well" and end the chat or via email never respond.

I love how I can't get verified using Clear. 😐

Where do I start?

- It's 100% impossible to get verified with Clear.

- Neither LinkedIn or Clear help in this matter. They BOTH say they can't do anything... Lovely. Everyone I speak with says the exact same thing. No one gets approved through Clear, as Clear ALWAYS says it can't verify your identity. I'd love to know how their AI is so asinine that it decides you're NOT a real human with a real passport. AI can be great, but the one Clear uses is 100% garbage.

All in all, 100% useless. Clear made sure you CANNOT get verified (i.e. on LinkedIn), regardless of what you do. You get an F-.

Airport scam: DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM

We got redirected by an official-looking lady at the airport, who made us fill a few screens to "skip the line". She NEVER mentioned a paying membership. Two weeks later, we noticed on our credit card statement a charge of $318, no less. Are you ### kidding me? This is a severe form of SCAM and this was approved by the TSA? I got my money back, but only because I am vigilant about credit card transactions. Never, ever, trust those ClearMe folks.

Have a special needs child that is over…

Have a special needs child that is over 18 who does not have a cell phone. Signed them up online (Never asked for a number) - got to airport - took them 30-mins to tell me to call Clear support. This is when they tell me - no phone - can't use it. So now it is worthless for all of us. She has "Real ID", TSA Pre, etc. - but no number - no clear. Total failure of a system. They will not let me talk to anyone technical - I own a software company, and also do ID verification. Minimum - put it in your interface so you don't train wreck a trip at the airport. Tell me you need this a signup.

CLEAR is not reliable

CLEAR was decent before they did a system upgrade, and it has not worked for me since. Each time I have been told there are CLEAR issues and just use TSA prechceck. The concept is great, but CLEAR is probably a bad choice to have implemented it. When I complain, I am just told there is nothing they can do.
