Horrible experience

Horrible experience. Was offered membership at ORD airport by a Clear agent WHO WAS DRUNK and smelling of alcohol. I was told up to 3 family members are included in basic membership of $209. Found out they charged 375 additional for 3 members. Tried reaching customer service, absolutely could not. They won’t refund. Stay away from this service.

Total scam and possibly fraudulent

Today I discovered that Clear charged $199 to my credit card at the beginning of this year. I did not sign up for this service. I also discovered I now have an account and a subscription with Clear that is auto-renewed annually. My card would have been charged again this coming January. Thankfully I was able to cancel this subscription. However, Clear claims they have no record of the charge even though it is clearly shown on my credit card statement as originating from Clearme.com. I am still trying to resolve this, but I will not hesitate to litigate if necessary. Looks like there are tons of people with the same experience.

Eternal Hold...

Same issue as others reported. I have an account where I am the main account holder, but the site says "only the main account holder can make account changes". Go fig!
On hold on the phone for an hour and with their online chat for 30 min. No answer, apparently no one home at Clear.

I so regret accepting a free trial

I so regret accepting a free trial. I traveled internationally and received no benefit. I was also sent confusing instructions demanding i go for an interview. This interview cost me $79 nonrefundable for which I received nothing. Constomer service takes forever. I cant imagine such an incompetent business is involved with airline security.

COMPLETE SCAM!

COMPLETE SCAM!! I signed up for the trial and cancelled a week before it was up and they STILL have tried to bill my credit card for 209.00 and it happened again today. There is no live support and now the email address they provide does not work. They need to be put out of business NOW!

This company is the worst

This company is the worst. I used them once then cancelled my subscription. Then randomly a year later they just charge my account 200 dollars. I’ve been trying to resolve it. There chat support doesn’t help. It says they are experiencing high chat volumes. Their AI phone assistant doesn’t help. Just tell me they don’t see a charge. And now I’ve waited an hour to talk to someone. Worst customer service.

I tried a trial for about a minute…

I tried a trial for about a minute because once I found out that they did not operate at the airports that I use frequently I immediately canceled it. However, I received today 11 16,2025 a charge for $334 on my American Express. I cannot express how angry I was to see that charge and then became even further angered by the lack of human contact I also called Amex and they said there’s nothing they can do because it’s pending. And they can only dispute a posted charge. Like a whole lot of other people that complained something needs to be done. I’m going to contact the Better Business Bureau and anyone else I can to raise awareness of this scam.

CLEAR is an absolute threat to every honest company relying on verification processes!

CLEAR is an absolute financial threat to every company relying on its verification process. Their technical process is faulty, classifying crisp, clear documents as ´blurry´ until the account has been blocked with a variety of phones after several attempts. The customer support is gate-kept by an AI-robot. Agents like Shaniece are neither willing nor capable of helping, and finally, you are forced to return to the company, which requires verification. LinkedIn uses this company, and I hope that they end the cooperation immediately because it is damaging to their honest business.

Wish I could give Clear no stars

Wish I could give it no stars, worst customer service ever, if you have an issue and want to speak to a human, forget it, you can wait on hold for hours and still never get a person. They have plenty of people at the airports but they know nothing other than how to sign you up however you will never be able to resolve an issue so you eventually just have to cancel the service.

Clear is now my top company or organization with the WORST CUSTOMER SUPPORT of all.

I do not recommend Clear to anyone.

I would rate them zero if I could

I would rate them zero if I could. The CLEAR rep stopped me as I was entering TSA PreChk to “tell me about CLEAR.” She never told me anything. She just established an account and asked me for my bank card. I told her that I did not want CLEAR and I did not want my card charged. She told me that she was NOT charging my account and that I would receive an email in two weeks which would allow me to decline the membership if I decided not to keep it. Lies!!! Two weeks passed and they processed a payment against my card for $209. My bank declined it because apparently this is a common theme. I had to contact CLEAR to cancel the membership and contact my bank to decline the transaction. This resulted in my bank card being canceled and now I have to go to every merchant account associated with that card to provide a new bank card, which I won’t even receive for 7-10 business days. Worst of all, when the agent walked me over to the CLEAR line the security agent said “Oh no, you have TSAPreChk you need to go over there.” Worst experience ever. The CLEAR representative straight up lied to my face.

Clear is monopoly

Clear is monopoly and they treat you as such very poor service. I use the company because I believe it does save you a little time. Is it worth the money? Probably not their employees are not very nice either. Neither is their help which is virtually useless

Horrible customer service from CLEARME

When I applied for TSA pre check through Clear, I paid $78 and was told nothing about a $209 membership fee. On October 27,2025, they charged my debit card for the $209. I was able to have my bank decline it. I then called CLEAR to tell them I didn't want a membership and to not charge me for it again. Today, November 1st, I saw that they'd charged my debit card again but this time it was already pending so my only option was to close that card and order a new number which is a huge inconvenience with all of the companies that I have to contact. CLEAR is a disaster to deal with and I'll never do business with them again. STAY AWAY!!!

Horrible customer service - SAVE YOUR MONEY

Horrible customer service. If you email them, they will get back to you in 2-3 days. Otherwise it a chatbot. If you get to chat with customer service, they can;t help you. TSA complains about them and I always have to show my ID after clear, When I call Clear to correct this, they tell me to do it at the airport, when I am at the airport they tell. me to go on line. When I am online, they tell me to talk to TSA. When I talk to TSA they tell me to talk to Clear. They do not care about their customers.

Worse service and CEO don't care

I really love the airport service; I get to security quickly, and the reps are nice.
Renewal time... 15 chats, 3 emails, one formal e-mail to the CEO, and after 4 days, one email reply back from customer service notifying of the charge without answering any other questions.
For 300 - two people, it is not worth it if this is the service I received to ask about billing. The company needs an overhaul, as frontline reps are not knowledgeable. If you chat for 30 minutes or more prior to them closing, they will purposely end your chat. With a CEO that don't care or respond to her customers, she deserves to see this program spiral down. I will continue to use TSA but Clear is done.

If “0” was an option I’d choose that

If “0” was an option I’d choose that. I signed up for a 90 day trial at Sea Tac in 2023 as there were issues with check in lines and the agent recommended signing up for the trial membership to expedite security screening so I wouldn’t miss my plane. I usually fly out of Fargo which doesn’t have Clear so I cancelled my membership (within the trial period). My bad, I don’t monitori my credit card statements closely enough but in June of this year I noted a $199 charge from Clear for this year. Looking back I was also billed $199 in 2024 and $189 in 2023. I was finally able to get a response via email after filing a Better Business complaint and they did cancel charges for 2024 and 2025 but not 2023. I have been emailing them back and forth since July about that charge and they insist they credited me. I looked through all of credit card statements and also contacted my Visa but there is no record. I asked for and finally got a “receipt “ which clearly was just made up as it is dated 2025. Most of the time they don’t read my emails and just send a link so that I can sign up for Clear. NOT!!!

LinkedIn verification not working

Been trying to get verified on LinkedIn for two months and it hasn't been letting me do it no matter what I do. I've contacted Clear's customer support many times over the span of the two months, following all of their guidance in contacting Verizon, deleting and re-creating Clear account several times, etc, but I still am yet to be verified. And now all they are saying is to wait and keep trying until it suddenly works after two months of not working.

The fact that I am following every single procedure and still not being able to verify myself and being put at a disadvantage in my job search seems absurd. Especially not being able to know the reason behind this and receiving zero help from both LinkedIn and Clear, with the only solution being "wait" for an indefinite period of time.

Do not let these people approach you!

I was approached by a rep of this company at BWI airport to pass through security more quickly. Who would refuse? I should have. My passport was scanned and a photo taken. So far nothing weird. I signed nothing and never scanned or tapped or even took out my credit card yet there was a charge of $209 on my account! What in the world? Steer clear.
