Customer service beyond useless

Had no problems until I lost my bank card and had to cancel it. This meant monthly payment couldn't be taken (hadn't realised payment was linked to the card, not the bank account). Only way to make the payment with another card was through the app or website, which is fine, but ID verification required details of card linked to the account, which I no longer had....customer service completely useless, issue still not resolved and in the meantime I'm accumulating late fees and missed payments.

Clearpay is great for most parts

Clearpay is great for most parts! The only problem I have with them is when you’re explaining an issue with evidence they give automatic responses that has NOTHING to do with what you said. So you’re forced to having to repeat yourself several times and break it down in hopes they would give the appropriate answer. Their poor comprehension in caring enough to understand their customers is frustrating.

Says I have a £450 limit but keeps declining

Says I have a £450 limit but keeps declining whenever I try to make a payment! I'm a new customer and it worked the other day when I tried to use it but I didn't have any money in the linked account so waited until today to place an order while there is money in my account to make the initial payment of 1/4 but keeps declining and saying to use a different payment method... I'm unsure why this is happening!

Charged extra using Amazon

I have given 2 stars, it would have been a five had I not have been made aware of the excess charge I am paying when it comes to Amazon. I have used it a lot of times with Amazon and just so recently. I have waited for the pending payment with Amazon to go through so I can see what I am going to be paying for the 3 remaining payments and I am paying well over the amount that was shown to me by Amazon with my prime membership. This time I have screen shot the amounts prior to adding the Clearpay payment card so I can actually see the difference In what I am being charged. On one of the payments I spent £159.48 and have screen shot this at checkout but on adding up what Clearpay are charging me it is £183.57. This is not the only one when it comes to Clearpay and Amazon. I have several more. I have always been happy using Clearpay and have never really had an issue until now and I am also now wondering if prior to realising this was happening with CP/Amazon how much extra money have they taken off me in over payments. Feel very upset by it as clearly people like me using this payment method struggle financially hence using it in the first place.

What's the point???

I have an account with clear pay for £1200, but because I don't use them on a regular basis they reduced my limit to £500 and that's not guaranteed.
Secondly, what's the point if you have to pay every week's??? Most people get paid monthly and it's worse if someone is on benefits.
Complete waste of time

My experience with Clearpay is the lazy…

My experience with Clearpay is the lazy mentality when you’re trying to sort out a real issue and matter. I made an order with Uksoccershop my first payment came out but my order got cancelled as I made a complaint not only they didn’t address it but I’m being charged twice for no reason when I didn’t receive my item then I got told to take it up to them which is impossible to get hold on Uksoccershop when I have emailed these guys instagram message them and Facebook message them and I even call the line which drops you to voicemail. To be robbed out of £95 is just ridiculous

Only gave them a 1 star as you can’t give no stars.
Ordered something from Amazon and Clearpay took my ‘down payment’. I cancelled the order next day before it was even dispatched so there was never any chance of starting to pay in installments but Clearpay have only refunded part of my down payment. I’m being given the run around on their customer service app and keep getting the same message…we are looking into it for you…blah, blah, blah!
I’m taking them to court for fraud!
They are obviously on the make and stealing peoples money.

Starting to feel really let down by…

Starting to feel really let down by clearpay and I've been using them for years. Went on today to purchase a gift card for a retailer I'm using today and the gift cards have totally disappeared other than a few there. Just unreliable when there's no reason for them to disappear. I also use klarna and I'm thinking once I pay clearpay off just to stick to them unless clearpay can be more reliable for their services.

Ordered a 320 pound item first time…

Ordered a 320 pound item first time using Clearpay I paid 194 pound straight away so I didn’t have to pay this month didn’t receive the item because Clearpay didn’t pay Amazon the money so order was cancelled and I have been told I’ll receive 135 pound in 10 days and I have no way of speaking to anyone at Clearpay at the moment because they make it impossible to speak to a human I just wanted next day delivery now I have to wait 10 days for half my money back and no order what a joke ….. so the message underneath this is a automated message like every other message they’ve been giving no action ….. another bad reply as you can see they just told me the same thing 135 refunded instead of the full refund so I can just make the order again nothing has be solved no help at all…. Update got a phone call today from someone who couldn’t help me and told me I’d get a call from the right department today they close at 6 so looks like I won’t be hearing from them today wasting my time holding my money hostage for Clearpay’s mistake because they didn’t pay Amazon don’t ever use Clearpay they will take your money but won’t provide the funds to buy the items scammers

Stick With Klarna Instead

Stick with Klarna, don't use Clearpay!

I only used Clearpay (as they didn't have Klarna available) at the Doctors Marten's shop.

It was mostly a waste of time, as you have to pay it back weekly instead of monthly...

So I ended up having to pay three quarters of it straight away anyway, as you have to pay it back weekly instead of monthly (pointless unless you are paid weekly).

I wasn't warned about it being paid back weekly by the Doctor Marten's staff or the Clearpay payment page, until after I had paid and got into a payment schedule...

This is a bit of a scam, as it doesn't really help you to spread the cost like Klarna does or even a credit card. So if I didn't have the spare cash, I would have had to end up paying late fees...

Terrible company

Terrible company. Can’t understand why reputable companies like M&S use them
Set up payments to a merchant but merchant not received so had to pay again. Nightmare company

I want to close my account

I want to close my account. The system will not let me. I do not owe anything. I emailed them several time and they keep telling me we are leaving your account visible so you can have a track of your orders. I replied by saying I already have all my records and I need this account closed as I do not wish my personal details be held by cleapay anymore. Now to me that is a breach on my rights.
I will have to seek legal advice as I am tired of emailing back and forth and receiving the same answer.
Update: what you are stating on your response has already been done. Dead end!!

Don't even want to give 1 star ordered a washing machine from clearpay 2 weeks then week later the company canceled as machine was damaged waited another week to get my money back then ordered it again to be told from clearpay it was declined wouldn't give me a explanation other than we don't always guarantee you will be accepted so why was I accepted 2 weeks ago nothing has changed

I had my phone stolen I lost my…

I had my phone stolen I lost my passwords so contacted them despite sending them proof of who I am a new email and phone they froze my account so I have contacted them several times and now have delegated the app
So disappointed their customer service is appalling bad

Absolute crap company was going through…

Absolute crap company was going through a hard time with being scammed ,had to change all my bank details,got back to clearpay and paid my account off ,to be told I can’t use ever again.customer service is just a waste off time ,is there any higher you can go there an absolute joke

Absolutely rubbish company

Absolutely rubbish company. Admittedly I was late paying my balance but cleared it in full under the assumption my services would be restored (in black and white from them on an email). DO NOT BELIEVE THIS RUBBISH!! They will take the money and then close your account for ever! Customer service didn't want to know despite me threatening them with watchdog due to false / misleading information.

They have not refunded me twice both Marks & Spencer goods.
I have emailed the 9 times with no joy whatsoever I’m shocked as I genuinely thought they were a proper company.
I too have reported them to the FO and will issue a claim in the courts.
DO NOT USE THEM.
