When you have a score of 2.4 it…

When you have a score of 2.4 it basically sums up ClenergyEV.
My experience has been awful in Carmarthenshire. They are off line often, or just never work. A new charger was fitted over a year ago and never been online.
When you ring their help line you give up waiting.

Avoid these chargers like the plague. If I could give less tan one star

If I could give less tan one star I would. I’ve just spent an hour in the bitter cold trying to get my debit card accepted. Eventually managed it and car started charging.
After 30 minutes, charging stoped and I got a message that the charger was being commissioned and to use another charger.
Had to go back out in the cold and move my car to the next charger.
These ones are located in a hotel car park so there were a couple of them. Luckily I saw that charging had stoppped, otherwise, I’d have woken to a half charged battery.
I’ve used loads of different charge suppliers, this is by far the worst, avoid like the plague.

Our free 24/7 driver helpline is there to support you whenever something goes wrong. The number to call is always shown on the sticker on the charge point.

Clenergy EV provides the software platform and helpline, but we don’t manage the physical hardware. To report a fault to the charge point operator, we need to know which charge points you used so we can pass this on and check what happened.

Our app also cannot send mid-session messages stating that a charger is being commissioned. A charger due for commissioning wouldn’t allow you to process a session. We would like to know more about this so that we can clarify what happened.

App the doesn’t work with credit card 2FA, faulty app and no one on the customer service line!!!

I know thelis company only does the software in Lambeth but I’ve had repeated problems with their substandard app and software. Their app fails to start charges every time my credit card asks for 2FA - it just goes error and as they don’t give me the chance to authorise I can’t add them to the safe list. Called their support line for problems with the chargers - app ending sessions early or not showing active charging sessions when my car finally charges - on hold for 15 plus minutes with no answer or help. Frankly failing in the minimum standards for supplying a charging software service I hope Lambeth drops them quickly as they’re not delivering for customers

Regarding the charging session, the app itself does not have the ability to end a charge early. If a session stops unexpectedly, this is typically caused by the charger or vehicle. If you can provide us with details of your account or recent charging history, we can provide a full breakdown of what happened during your sessions.

Please note that while Clenergy EV provides the software platform and helpline, the chargers are managed by a separate CPO on behalf of Lambeth Council. If an issue with the charger needs to be reported, we will forward the concern directly to the responsible CPO for investigation and resolution.

Robbers and Refunds

Robbers and Refunds. Shocked that ClenergyEV take a deposit every time even when their charger fails to connect as a guest. Third attempt, I downloaded yet another app that wants all my personal details! Why? So £90 taken for £10 of electricity. Called about refunds, 5 working days before I get my money back .
I hope Wrexham Council cancels this contract (was Monta which worked fine and didn’t steal my money). My local MP is working on a law to standardise and simplify EV charging which will hopefully outlaw this FRAUD

When you attempt a charge, a £30 preauthorisation is placed to ensure that you have funds before progressing. This is a standard hold and not an immediate charge.

When a session fails or completes, we immediately process the actual payment and release any unused funds. Once released, the timing is entirely dependent on your bank. This can take 3 to 5 working days to reflect in your account.

If you'd like us to check a specific transaction, we would be happy to provide a System Trace Audit Number (STAN) for your bank to trace the refund status.

Lambeth uses this company for it's…

Lambeth uses this company for it's charge points it took off shell. When Shell ran them (even though I'm definitely not a fan of this Petrol company and they have an abysmal history of most of their charge network) they worked and they cost a fairly high 45p per kWh - these are only 7kw chargers. Now Lambeth/Clenergy have taken over, out of four local chargers, one hasn't worked since and two others are regularly offline. The cost is now on par with rapid chargers at 60pkwh for 'peak' hours - which is every day, even Sundays until MIDNIGHT! This should be criminal, but of course it's not they're working with the government, the same government who said they'd charge companies for failure to keep charge points working. The labour party really needs to change it's name to the new sheriffs of Nottingham. And this company should have it's board members thrown in jail for fraud.

To clarify, for these particular chargers, Clenergy EV's role is limited to providing the software that manages access and payments, as well as the customer helpline. We do not set the pricing, manage repairs, or control availability. These are the responsibility of Lambeth Council and their appointed maintenance contractor.

That said, we do report all faults we’re made aware of to the relevant parties and track their resolution. If specific charge points are offline, we're happy to escalate the issue further. Please send the charger ID or street names to our support inbox at info@clenergy-ev.com.

10/10 customer service

I have recent received an electric company car, personally it’s not ideal for me as my property is unable to have and electric charger fitted so I heavily rely on public charging points. Thank god there is a charging point at the bottom of my village! (I’m in a valley location so not much availability at this stage). I have used many different chargers and agree they are very expensive (but what’s a girl to do) and compared to a lot of other companies ClenergyEV really is one of the best. I always find ClenergyEV are the most efficient chargers, the charging process is efficient and the app is easy to navigate, following up each charge with a vat receipt. Recently the charger which is 22kwh (which is far superior to the 7kwh chargers) had a fault and it really put a spanner in the works for me. I contacted ClenergyEV customer services and within a week the charger was repaired, and they keep me updated on the progress every step of the way! I honestly can’t thank, or recommend ClenergyEV enough! You really have made my life a whole lot easier!

Clenergy at Essex University is barely okay

Used the clenergy at Essex University, Winenhoe and it was okay at only 7kW.
Dislike having another iOS app, so began to charge as a guest, but was TOO SLOW. So stopped the charge at 1kWh, so should be charged 44pence.
I had to contact their customer services as the charging station would not release my cable and the agent was able to help to free it after a few tries.
Too expensive at 44pence per kW for a 7kW charging speed.

Clenergy has a shameful and disgusting…

Clenergy has a shameful and disgusting policy of charging £30 every time you plug in , no matter how much you use. They then take up to 5 working days (a week) to refund the difference.

I used their charger as a guest in Canterbury. It stopped charging after only a couple of kw, so I replugged it in and got hit with £60. I used 14kw at 0.39p. I now have to wait up to a week to get a refund of about £55

The charger was faulty and this policy is not made clear. I am sure it is hidden away somewhere in the small print . This is a shameful practice used to help this company cash flow and even when I reported to the company I only replugged because their charger stopped working , I was told that it is their policy and have to wait.

Other companies need a lesson from Clenergy

Have used Clenergy for a while now, only had 2 issues (due to phone signal both times). Clenergy answered the phone quickly and politely and dealt with the problem instantly. Also the customer service operator suggested I get a key fob which would eliminate the issue. When I asked how to get one he said he would order one for me. I have it and it works perfectly.
Thats how a business should be run.
