Windale climbing frame - great stuff!

It took the best part of a weekend (with help) to assemble our climbing frame (a Windale), but the instructions were clear and all the components were clearly labelled. If you can put together basic flat-pack furniture, you can do this, but be prepared for the investment of time. Our boys (now 3 and 1) love it. We have turned the ground floor of the tower into a mud kitchen for the winter months, and the slide and swings continue to get plenty of use.

Excellent quality

Bought a climbing frame with slide for our three young children, the quality was excellent and it took my husband an afternoon to build on his own and was really straight forward.
The children have played with it non stop over summer. Really pleased with our purchase

DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I obtained a Goldenridge Climbing Frame in April 2015 for my daughter who had unfortunately struck down with leukemia, after spending 12 months living in Alder Hey Hospital I decided too build something special for her. On a arrival and 3 gruelling days of sweat and fun it was up. £1100 is alot of money especially when we also spent a further £3000 putting artificial grass and an enclosure up for safety! We realised we would need a bucket seat as my daughter was only, nearly 2, so we went back to Climbing Frames UK as we wanted it all to match having spent so much, we ordered the Selwood High Back Seat on the 23rd April. When we put the swing up however the ropes where brown and not white as shown on the website, I immediately phoned customer services as we was unveiling the park on my daughters 2nd Birthday (29th April) and thought they would easily resolve the problem in time.

Climbing Frames UK said they couldn't swap it as they didn't have white ropes, yet they advertise them? They told us they would refund us for the swing which was fair enough until I realised they wanted myself to pay the £22 return postage. This is not about the money, I am posting this review to show how this company has a total disregard for after-sales! I've kept the seat on principal i would rather bin it than send it back.

Take a risk with this company at your own peril, false advertising and disrespectful customer service employees.

I would just like to end this review on a positive note if I was reviewing the Goldenridge climbing frame alone I would have given 5 stars, it is excellent, looks great and feels like it will last us for years to come.

Thanks

Hi Dave (CEO UK LEAFLET DISTRIBUTION),

It's very disappointing to receive this review, especially considering how you have praised us for the quality of the product itself, yet not given a good review for this?

We have offered you a FULL REFUND! You informed the customer service person that "it's not about the money, i have 15 people in my office i will get to write horrible reviews about you".

We appreciate that you did a lovely thing for your daughter, but feel your review is disproportionate. Hundreds of customers have been exceedingly happy with the baby seat as it enables their younger children to enjoy their swingset too, and we didn't know of any colour variation until you bought it to our attention. When you did, we offered you a full refund.

Whilst we design our play equipment to look beautiful, the baby seat is simply a functional item to enable children to swing, and even though the function of the item is 100% correct, we're sorry this didn't meet your expectations, and we offered a full refund on the basis you were dissatisfied.

Your unwarranted comment "Take a risk with this company at your own peril, false advertising and disrespectful customer service employees" is absolutely shocking and disgraceful given our previous communication with you. The customer service person you spoke to was shocked and upset at your comments.

We take pride in our products and our service, and are pleased we offer such an amazing range of play equipment to help keep children active in the safety of their own back garden. We just hope that people can see through the frivolous nature of the comments made.

APPALLING SERVICE!! Do not use this company ever!!

I purchased the Rendle Fort climbing frame and on 3 occasions the delivery didn't show despite receiving a text to confirm each time, even a call from the driver the 3rd time give an estimating time of arrival. I complained the first 2 times and was assured this would not happen again and I was just unlucky. The 3rd time someone promised to call me back when it hadn't arrived again and nothing. DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY TERRIBLE SERVICE. I wonder if they ever even had the item in stock and are not pulling some sort of scam. Will be demanding a full refund.

Brenda, sorry you suffered a bad experience with the delivery. We have hundreds of items in stock which are normally delivered within a few days of order. In fact customers are normally contacted within 48hrs of order to book a delivery day, and delivery normally takes place 3-7 days later.

I'm sorry you suffered several issues with the delivery and communication of delivery, this really is an unfortunate situation. We were issued with a full refund on 5th June, and we will ensure your comments are reported back to the courier to try and improve the service in the future.

We are a genuine business that has been established as one of the leading suppliers of children's garden play equipment in the UK for more than 10 years. If you wish, please contact us directly and we'll be happy to arrange for you to visit our head office in Suffolk, or distribution warehouse.

Hi Denise, thanks for taking the time to review our company. Sadly it's very disappointing to see that you have neglected to publish the truth about the problem encountered.

1) You purchased a 'swingset kit'. It clearly states on the product image and in the item description (twice) that the kit did not include wood. These items are kits which include the brackets, swings and all required hardware. We do not sell the wood for these items, which is why we make this very clear on the images and product description. The wood is included with our cedar climbing frames and playhouses, which makes up the core of our range, but obviously cost substantially more.

2) You contacted us via live chat this morning at 8:56am, and we informed you immediately that if you do not want the product then you can return it to us and we will refund you.

3) After 13 minutes on live chat, you were offered our returns address, and you responded "and the box came open with screws missing". However, you also confirmed you signed for the item as received in good condition.

4) Note: Customers that genuinely have missing or damaged parts have them dispatched within 24/48hrs, completely free of charge.

We're exceedingly sorry that you purchased something from us without reading the description, or taking note of the images, and whilst we do our best to provide good customer service, great value products and fast delivery, i'm afraid on this occasion we are unable to accept the blame or costs for this error as we believe we have given extensive product information and fulfilled the order as desired and delivered within a few days.

If you wish to return the item then you can still do this, and we will obviously process a refund for you. If you wish to keep the item then you will be able to purchase the wood locally, normally for very good rates.

We welcome customer feedback, and as you can see from our website hundreds of customers have reviewed their items and even submitted images of their completed playsets in their gardens. Whilst everyone is human, and we also make mistakes, the blame and cost for these mistakes should be considered before publicly encouraging others not to buy from a company.

Great product!

Bought a garden swing set for my daughter (and little mates) and she loves it. Some time ago now, but still working fine. Delivered on time and no issues, so happy to recommend to others (not sure we'll need another swing thought!).

Great value for money and my kids love it.

The package was delivered in good time and everything was in the box. Assembly took a long time but I had a lot of fun doing it. The most important thing is that my kids absolutely love it! I have two criticisms. One, the wooden components were not labeled meaning I spent a long time trying to identify them by their length, shape and the number of holes they had (I did this before construction started). If they had been pre labeled it would have saved me HOURS. I also mislabelled one of the pieces meaning I thought I was missing one for a while. Two, the wood treatment made my skin itch badly. So once I had completed the frame I had to treat the wood again before I could let my children play with it. However, as I say, my children love it and that is all that ultimately matters.

Climbing Frame UK - Very poor customer service

I bought a lovely climbing frame from this company. What a shame that the staff is so rude. I sent a simple email and his reply was very rude. I would worry buying anything from this company in future if this is the way he treats his customers.

Belfort Climbing Frame

Took two men, eight hours to erect. They said the manual was very clear. Looks great up. Am really pleased.

The swings take my weight and my four year old so we can swing together (gently??) Sadly she has already fallen off, has a huge bump on her forehead where the swing came back on itself.
Apart from that - she loves it.

Recommended as a good cheap playset if money is an issue.
If i could of afforded, i would of gone more expensive so that the wood was more substantial.

Damaged parts

Unless you take about two hours checking all the parts whilst the delivery driver waits for you I would be very cautious about signing off the delivery. Everything seemed to be ok with our delivery until I came to attach slide to fort and found a slight crack in the slide, I reported it straight away to climbing frames uk who told me being as I signed for it there was nothing they could do and put me in touch with Sellwood products parts department who in turn told me that being as I signed to say eveyrthing was ok I would have to pay for the replacement part myself. After a lot of pleading with them they decided to offer me the part free of charge but i had would have to pay a very overpriced £35 to have it delivered. So be very very carful before signing for your delivery

Thank you for your review, your comments have been noted. However, we would only ever expect a customer to check the slide which is in a transparent plastic bag. It is large and plastic and is more susceptible to damage in transit than the wooden components, which we don't expect customers to check piece by piece. If you mark 'damaged' on the drivers POD then we will dispatch a replacement immediately free of charge. Unfortunately if the POD is signed with no damage listed we cannot claim from the courier and can only assume that the goods have arrived in acceptable condition. Home delivery of large, bulky goods (like slides) is expensive and we never look to profit from delivery services. Please contact us directly and we will cover any redelivery costs you have incurred in this instance.

Excellent

Arrived promptly. I have nearly finished putting a Balmoral Fort with Monkey Ladder together and have found it to be a great product!
The quality of wood and fittings is good and the instructions very clear. I would recommend it to anyone looking for this type of play product.

Poor

Despite agreeing a delivery date for a Saturday and having it confirmed by a text to my mobile I didn't receive the promised telephone call from the delivery driver between the hours of 7am and 9am and the delivery was not made.I stayed at home all day and phoned Climbing Frames but they were not open.I tried to phone the delivery company and they were not working.I also e-mailed Climbing Frames without success.
Climbing Frames have not offered an apology nor compensation for having wasted a precious Saturday spent at home.

We're sorry to hear that you weren't totally satisfied with your service. I'm afraid we have never, and still do not offer Saturday deliveries so unfortunately there appears to have been confusion at the time the delivery was booked.

We have very good feedback on our delivery service, as we can deliver the vast majority of items within 5-8 days.

Great price, very quick delivery. I was expecting a phone call to arrange delivery which didn't happen but luckily somebody was in. Was surprisingly easier to put together than husband thought and child absolutely loves it!

WOW

Did not expect such great customer service or such a speedy delivery. Ordered a JumpKing tramoline on the 16th December and it came within the 48 hours. So impressed especially when its Christmas. My godson loves his present, I am yet to assemble it but I feel assured with the comments below that it will be easy to do. I was also amazed by the price. I shopped around and Climbing Frames UK are definitley one of the more affordable companies. Only bit of constructive criticism I have is that in the confirmation email it was stated that they would call me to confirm a delivery date and they didn't. But this was not a problem for me so just for future refence. One of the best presents I've bought at christmas and I would definitley recommend it to my family and friends. In fact, I already have.

Fantastic purchase!

Having originally purchased a Ridgeview Climbing Frame and then discovering the Selwood Cedar Summit Panorama playset was back in stock, it took one phone call and the staff at climbing frames uk arranged for a van to exchange these for me.  So pleased with the customer service.  No hassle whatsoever to arrange exchange.
Onto the playset... We started by opening every box and sorting EVERY screw with the correct washer and bolt and labeled every single piece of wood.  This took over 2 hours but having everything labelled and screws sorted in advance saved hours in the long run of actually building.  The main frame states that it would estimate 12 hours for 2 people to build.  There was 3 of us and got it built in 7 hours.  Very clear instructions with an instructional DVD which was very useful also.  The tube slide estimated 3 hours to build.  It probably took 5 of us to build that within the 3 hours.  Total nightmare.  End result was absolutely amazing.  Could not be happier with the climbing frame or the company we bought it from.  You can tell by looking at it that it is made from very high quality materials and there were plenty spare bolts etc.  Kids are extremely happy.  Very highly recommended.

Very good

Bought this for my grandsons and so I quote from my son, to whom it was delivered, after minor hitches in communication, and who put it together:-

"All present and correct - quite a few spare bits of hardware too. Pretty straightforward to follow instructions but you definitely have to follow them! Would be helpful to distinguish more clearly between pieces that are very similar - there were a couple of times I had to swap pieces back out!

Only one thing missing from the instructions, but easy enough to work out myself!

And, for the record, you don't need three people to build it (but my back would probably hurt a whole lot less, and prob be a little quicker... But I don't like to share my flatpack)!
